Reviews of our Morocco Tours for Senior Citizens

Our senior travelers love their Morocco journeys — here's what they say.

The itinerary was a pleasant balance of free time against organized activities. The optional tours were very good choices; we did all of them. The Tour Director went out of his way to make sure everything went well and all questions were addressed.

El viaje para ir a las cascadas es demasiado largo, debemos tener en cuenta las edades de los pasajeros, algunos de nosotros no podemos hacer viajes tan largos en un dia.

Excellent immersive tour of Morocco

This was a thoroughly enjoyable tour, taking you from the souks to the mountains, to the Sahara to the Atlantic shore. Every day presented a new and engaging view of Morocco.

The tour takes you to the highlights of Morocco. My favorite memories are the Medina in Fes and the Sunset excursion to the Sahara Desert. Our guide was very informative. One downside of trip was all the traveling although there were breaks. There really was no time to enjoy the hotel amenities. Food was plentiful.Moroccan wine lacks complexity. Have enough small change coins for bathroom breaks

My 19 day Moroccan trip with World Expeditions was really in two parts. The explorer part where we visited the major destinations and learnt about the culture and history of Morocco. And the second part being the seven day trek to Mount Toubkal. This part was hard work but satisfying with excellent support from porters and the cook. The food was fantastic and much easier than we had had at restaurants. Highly recommended this trip for the adventurous.

Magic In Action — A Soul-Stirring Journey Through Morocco

I’ve traveled far and wide, Morocco being my 58th country. But this trip wasn’t just travel - it was transformation, standing apart as one of the most enriching, moving, and unforgettable adventures of my life. From the sweeping dunes of the Sahara to the winding alleys of the ancient Medina and the energy of Marrakesh, the poetic beauty of the Atlas Mountains, and the Kasbahs, villages, markets, homes — each day was filled with wonder, beauty, and genuine connection—with the land, its people, and with myself. As someone who prefers traveling spontaneously and on my own, rather than in coordinated groups, two friends and I decided to try it this time, and joined strangers on this organized trip. A huge part of what elevated this journey well beyond expectations was our extraordinary guide, Mohamed. His deep knowledge, thoughtful storytelling, and sincere care brought the history, culture, nature, and spirit of Morocco to life in unforgettable ways. He didn’t just show us Morocco—he shared it with us. With his passion, and genuine kindness, he didn't just lead us—he welcomed us into his culture with warmth and generosity. From shared laughters to heartfelt stories, he made Morocco come alive in ways no brochure or solo travel ever could. The experience was poetry for all senses. Equally important was our driver, Abdoul, whose calm, confident presence made every journey feel completely safe, no matter how winding the road or how chaos-like the road. His skill behind the wheel allowed us to trust, relax, and truly take in the shifting landscapes. The itinerary struck a perfect balance between adventure and rest, busy and quiet, and the thoughtfully selected accommodations—including the magical desert camp and the rustic charm gite —created an atmosphere of authenticity and comfort. And the food! Every meal was a sensory delight, and I found myself not just tasting Moroccan food and tea but truly savoring it as a cultural expression. Oh, and I will never forget surrendering to the traditional —non-touristy — hammam with the local ladies in Thigza at 6400ft altitude. I felt cleansed not just on my skin, but deep scrubbed from years of inner hurts. And the most beautiful part of this trip? The unexpected connections—with locals and with moments of quiet awe. This was more than a vacation. It was a passage into wonder. I have returned transformed and with a yearning to return. I'm deeply grateful to Mohamed and Abdoul, and to all the people along the way, who welcomed us, shared their homes, shared their knowledge, and the love of their country, for taking us far beyond the surface. If you’re looking not just to see Morocco, but to feel it, live it, and carry it home in your soul, I can’t recommend this journey with Exodus highly enough.

Tips for seniors traveling to Morocco

Age range for senior tours in Morocco

While Bookmundi classifies senior travelers as 60+, there is no strict upper or lower age limit. Most of the senior-friendly tours are suited for those aged 50 and above, offering comfort, slower-paced itineraries, and expert guidance. Prominent tour operators such as On The Go Tours, Europamundo, and Destination Services offer senior-specific or senior-accommodating trips. These tours prioritize comfort, safety, and cultural immersion over high-adrenaline adventures.

Recommended activities and destinations for seniors in Morocco

From ancient cities to golden deserts, this North African gem is filled with memorable experiences that cater to senior travelers. Relaxing activities like exploring the colorful souks of Marrakech, enjoying a traditional hammam spa, or sipping mint tea in a tranquil riad courtyard are perfect for a leisurely pace. Must-see destinations like the medina of Fes and the ancient ruins of Volubilis involve navigating uneven terrain and numerous stairs, which can be challenging for some seniors. However, travelers seeking more accessible options might prefer the flat, charming alleys of Chefchaouen, Morocco’s “Blue City,” or the coastal town of Agadir, known for its relaxing beaches and modern amenities. Seniors can also enjoy a calm camel ride in the Sahara at sunset or coastal getaways in Essaouira. For a full list of experiences, check out our things to do in Morocco. Best time for seniors to travel to Morocco

The best time for seniors to visit Morocco is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when temperatures are pleasant and sightseeing is comfortable. Cities like Marrakech and Fes are especially enjoyable during these months, as are desert excursions which become more bearable with cooler evenings.
