Along the way, participants traverse rhododendron forests, cross glacial moraines, and observe rare Himalayan wildlife. Overnight stays in cozy lodges and the warm hospitality of Sherpa communities enrich the experience.
Over 11 days, trekkers cover 6-8 hours of walking daily, guided by seasoned experts for safety and insight. The unique selling point of this trip is the exceptional combination of natural beauty and cultural connection, making it a standout trekking tour for those seeking a complete Himalayan adventure.
After your arrival at Lukla airport, you’ll head for breakfast. Enjoy picturesque views of the mountains and hills in the Lukla region. Following breakfast, we will begin our Everest base camp trek. Our first stop is Phakding.
Along the way, you'll see beautiful decorations like chortens, prayer wheels, and prayer flags. Instead of single-family homes, Phakding is primarily made up of lodges. Trekkers are given desirable and top-notch services here. Overnight in Phakding.
We will begin our second day with a good breakfast, and then head to Namche Bazaar. We will start by journeying along Dudh Koshi River's banks, crossing suspension bridges decorated with colorful prayer flags. We will pass through the vivid pine and rhododendron woods before reaching Namche Bazaar. If the weather is perfect and the skies are clear, you'll also get your first glimpse of Mount Everest halfway through the trek.
Upon reaching Namche Bazaar, feel free to relax at the lodge or explore the restaurants. This town works as a refreshing point for trekkers. Overnight at the lodge in Namche Bazaar.
Today, we acclimatize. Take the time to stroll around the region and learn more about the community and its people. Make sure to explore Shyangboche, Khunde, Khumjung, Khunde Hospital – built by Sir Edmund Hilary, Everest View Hotel – highest hotel in the world, and the Khumjung monastery. Head back to your lodge and stay overnight.
After breakfast, we will leave Namche Bazaar and follow the trail to Tengboche. We will pass Dudh Kosh River Bridge and head east. After a few ascends and descends, we will reach Tengboche. Once there, take in the breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Mount Nuptse, Mount Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku. In Tengboche, we will also explore Tengboche Monastery. Then, you will trek down to Deboche for the night.
After breakfast, we will leave Deboche and continue traveling through the rhododendron forest. From there, we will cross the Imja River and keep traveling until we reach Pangboche. Enjoy spectacular views of the mountains along the way. The trail will take you across alpine highlands and upon reaching in Dingboche, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of Peak 38, Island Peak and Lhotse. Overnight in Dingboche.
Today is our final acclimatization before reaching Everest Base Camp. You can choose to relax and stroll around or you can climb to Chukkung Valley or Nangkar Tsang Gompa. For acclimatization, we believe Chukkhung Valley is the best choice. If time allows, trek to the top of Chukkung-Ri to witness a panoramic view of Mount Ama Dablam, Mount Baruntse and Mount Makalu.
Alternatively, Nangkar Tsang Gompa is also a good option. From here, you can enjoy up close views of Lobuche, Cholatse, Taboche, Thamserku and Ama Dablam. Return to your lodge in Dingboche for the night.
Today onwards, the trek starts becoming more difficult. There are several ascent routes that start from the ridge above Pheriche Village and go up to Lobuche. You'll quickly discover that you are getting close to the Khumbu Glacier as you move further, and you'll finally arrive at the top of the Thukla Hills. Here, the memorial stupa is set up in honor of the climbers who lost their lives in this region.
Follow the trail to reach Lobuche. This ascent is somehow difficult and passes from a loose moraine. After going through each of these, you will arrive at Lobuche and check into the lodge. The rest of your time will be spent ascending to the ridge on the east side for the magnificent views of the Khumbu Glacier, Nuptse, and Lhotse. Overnight at the lodge in Lobuche.
Today, we trek to Everest base camp via Gorak Shep. Gorakshep is a village situated at a staggering height of 5364 m. This village has relatively few teahouses. After reaching Gorakshep village, you will visit the tea house and leave your belongings there. Here at Gorakshep, you will be welcomed by the breathtaking panorama of Mounts Changtse, Lingtren, Khubutse, and Pumori.
After breakfast, we will get ready and head to Everest base camp. The base camp is only a few hours away from Gorakshep. If you are trekking during the peak trekking seasons, such as spring and fall, you are likely to come across Yak and porters carrying the supplies for the climbers heading out on the Mount Everest Expedition. As you follow the route through the Khumbu glacier, you will make your way toward Everest base camp.
As you get closer to Everest Base Camp, you will observe colorful flags at the base of the Khumbu icefall. Achieving the Everest base camp is fascinating and makes a trekker feel accomplished. In order to capture this special moment in memory, we will make the most of our time in base camp by taking some pictures, immersing in the landscape, and celebrating our success. Then, we will leave Everest base camp and return to Gorakshep in an hour. Overnight at a lodge in Gorakshep.
Today’s path is relatively simple. You will pass through greeneries, the alpine landscapes and the charming towns of Orsho, Somare, Pangboche and Tengboche and finally descend down to Namche Bazaar. Feel free to rest or explore around. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Your trekking comes to an end today. As we descend, we will pass over a few settlements including Jorsale, Monjo, Phakding and Lukla. Overnight in Lukla.
Our representative will take you to Lukla airport at 6 am and bid you farewell. We hope you had a wonderful trip.
You'd be crazy if you didn't go with AME! We had the best time in the best care!
I have found Tika, who manages a tour company, to be a thorough professional and a champion in customer service. I chose this trek as it was recommended by many on the internet. I had extensive email and social media communication with Tika, as i had many doubts about the trip, and he had been very responsive with quick and detailed answers to all my questions. One of the most important things to consider when we choose a trekking company to do the Everest Base Camp trek is the ability to handle unplanned events. For e.g. managing the delay in Lukla flights and emergency evacuation due to altitude sickness - we encountered both the situations and this company could arrange helicopters in both the cases for us - both covered by insurance. The company was also able to make apt changes in the tour programme to accommodate the delays and ensured we reached the destination and back on time. The guide, Shishir, was very knowledgeable and friendly and the porters, especially Indra, was really good and helpful. I would recommend this company to anybody who are planning a trekking trip in Nepal.
