Absolutely fabulous tour - especially if you can get Justin Walley to lead it. Tour was a good mixture of morning tours lead by experienced local guides and a good amount of free time to explore on your own. The group dinners were good value - both in the quality of the meals and the venues. The dinners were not rushed (as we have found on Insight tours). Cooking class was such fun. Really recommend this tour.
Excellent in every way especially tour leader Maja
Accommodation guides tour all excellent feedback from our client
Just back from Europe and more than happy to provide a very positive review of the 'Croatia and Dalmatian Coast' tour operated by Back Roads Touring. We had a wonderful time on our tour, which was made all the more enjoyable by our truly outstanding guide, Justin, and talented (if quiet) driver, Senad. Nothing was too much trouble for Justin and he was attentive, informative, considerate and caring (& that continued even after the tour was over). Our tour companions were all from Australasia and were very enjoyable and entertaining company. It made for a very happy tour. Justin kept us informed at all times particularly with his morning WhatsApp messages and weather report and keeping an eye on all of us to make sure we did not get "misplaced". We had not been to Croatia before and the tour gave us an overview of the stunning scenery and history of the Dalmatian Coast. The pace of the tour was great giving a short specialist tour at various historic towns and then time to oneself to for further discovery and dining. The accommodation was generally very good although in Dubrovnik the hotel is quite a way from the Old Town. Dubrovnik is a wonderful and historic but draws a big crowd. Split was probably more enjoyable because it was more relaxed. The included breakfasts were extensive and the included dinners were generally great (although the first one in Split was not of the same quality as the rest). The group activities of cooking class and winery visits were generally very good and added to the understanding of the area and its people. Overall a really good tour and introduction to the Dalmatian Coast, made excellent by the efforts of our guide, Justin. (& by the general goodwill and positive outlook of our touring companions).
What a great time we had. The history, the ancient buildings & ruins, the people, the food & the weather. Accomodation & choice of restaurants was great. Guide & driver so good. So amazing. If we had travelled solo we’d never have got to see half the beautiful places and the intricate secrets of this beautiful land. So Thankyou Blue-Roads.
