Turkey: 5/5 Our experience was made better by our tour guide, Nadir. His knowledge of the country is exceptional. He also ensured that we have the best time (which we did) - he provided us with something to read/watch/listen to during the long bus rides and an option to see a Turkish dance. We also had interesting stops and comfort breaks. His hospitality makes me wish we had him as our tour guide for the entire trip. We saw and experienced so much in a span of 8 days in Turkey. From taking the cruise in Bosphorus to riding the hot air balloon in Cappadocia and seeing the remains of one of the 7 Ancient Wonders of the world. The only caveat is that we had one hotel in which there was no WiFi and the amenities aren't the best. Some stops didn't have the best food choices. Greece: 4/5 First part of the trip was a cruise around the Greek Islands. The cruise experience was great, however, the stops felt rushed because we didn't purchase excursions from the ship which made us the last ones to leave, giving us a little time to explore. We were not given a heads-up on the cruise experience so we navigated it ourselves. In Athens, the local tour company that was a partner of our agency forgot to pick us up for the half-day city tour. There was a miscommunication in instructions but fortunately, it was resolved, after a few phone calls and being passed around. This made us miss some of the stops before going to the Acropolis. We had so much time in Athens and I felt like the tour wasn't planned well. The trip to Cape Sounion (we have to ask for a partner local tour company) can be done after the half-day city tour in Athens and then we could have a free day. Instead, it was broken down into two days. The people that were assigned to us weren't friendly as well. Despite the issues, it was resolved and the trip went well.
Perfect tour!! The itineraries are all educational. Nadir, our tour guide did a very good job. This tour is highly recommended.
I am not normally a tour person, normally I travel solo. I found this tour to be excellent. It was very well organized with lots of diversity. Most tours are only on a bus. On this tour we travelled by plane, boat, and van. We saw a lot in the 15 days, but I never felt hurried or that I was missing out on something. In addition to the planned activities, we had a good amount of free time as well. This tour also included the entrances to all the monuments and museums that we visited, which made it even more of a good value. The hotels were outstanding. We stayed mostly in 4 or 5-star hotels with one 3 star. (That one, in Bursa, was not as good as the others) Our guide was amazing. He knew everything. He shared lots of information with us, not only about where we were but the culture, the people, as well as the history. Don't hesitate, this tour is wonderful.
We chose Eskapas for the second time and we are not disappointed All transfers, ferries and accommodation organized well without problems and people were very helpful by giving us good information. The transfers were on time and were waiting us according to the schedule. Hotels were comfortable with good breakfast. The guides were knowledgeable The islands were amazing, with nice beaches and good for relaxing. But our favorite was Crete. Nice atmosphere. Celestyal cruise ship!!! Good mix of relaxation and things to do All in all, everything was organized very professionally. So efficient. Very glad I chose Eskapas
I just wanted to say a BIG thank you for organizing such a wonderful holiday for us. It went like clockwork. Guides, buses were always on time, hotels were great and there was no stress at any stage of our travels. Thank you again for the professional service you gave us, we are very grateful. The trip with the cruise was beautiful!
We are very happy with the company, and more especially with the assistance Alexis gave us. All our questions were answered timely and professional before the trip. All the hotels were well-located, comfortable and had lovely rooms. The welcome was the best both in Turkey and Greece and in every location we've been and the transfers were always on time. The drivers were waiting on our arrival and we were taken safely away to the hotel/port/airport as applicable. All drivers were courteous, with automobiles that were clean and appeared to be well maintained. We loved this island hopping experience with Celestyal Cruise. It is incredible! Every island we saw was beautiful. Santorini and Crete were amazing! The caldera, the ancient site at Akrotiri, and the black sand beach are our favorites. Thank you very much for this trip and the great job!
It was an excellent tour, our guide was very knowledgeable and nice. The chofer was very good too! One thing I will recommend is, change the hotel in Bursa/ compared with all the other hotels, this didn't meet the standard for a 3-star hotel. It seems that at one point the itinerary was changed, most of the people in the group, including myself, remembered Troy and Gallipoli instead of Bursa. Even so, I enjoy very much the visit to the green mosque and the silk market.
A tour of 8 people plus our guide and driver, a perfect number for our van. A most enjoyable 12 Days seeing the highlights of Turkey and Greece with some fine company My expectations were pleasantly met as to the variety of our itinerary be it mosques, historical sites, Greek/Roman/Underground cities, temples, ruins, natural attractions. I felt at times we were rushed a little through some Greek/Roman cities however I understand we all move at a different pace to take in these wonders, mine perhaps being slower The hotels were a mix of mainly 4 star with the occasional 5 star and all were suitable for a quiet nights rest. The breakfasts and occasional dinner on offer did vary in quality but I personally found them to be fine. I opted for the single-supplement accommodation however it was random as to whether I was given a room with 2 single beds or 1 double bed (preferable), there was no option given at check-in so that was disappointing. I also chose the tour lunch pack but in hindsight there was no need as eating choices were abundant for our luncheons I was pleased I opted for the excursion to Troy and Gallipoli which included a visit to the ancient site of Pergamon en-route, and I considered the hotel in Canakkale the best hotel of the trip I would most certainly recommend Eskapas and this tour for some wonderful lifetime memories of Turkey
The best of Turkey and Greece tour of Turkey was one of the best experiences of my life with outstanding, professional service throughout! Before, during, and after booking my tour, Ismail patiently answered all of my questions online usually within an hour of sending my text. Even more impressive was our tour guide, whom I'd ever met and who went out of his way to accommodate any wishes I had. For example, when I decided to leave the tour temporarily in order to go paragliding, our guide helped me buy my bus ticket and checked up on me until I was safely back with our group the next evening. Our guide is organized, friendly, patient, flexible, extremely knowledgeable about the history of each site we visited, and above all, very very funny. Simply put, our guide has the perfect personality for a tour guide and clearly enjoys teaching people from all over the world about the rich history and culture of his country. Along with our guide was our very safe and kind driver. One day when I was sick with a terrible cold and skipped an excursion, the driver stayed with me and made sure the restaurant brought lots of hot tea and honey for my throat. He spoke a little English, but I spoke no Turkish so we ended up talking about our lives using Google Translate for a couple of peaceful hours. I looked forward to our driver's cheerful smile every morning when he picked us up at our hotels for another exciting day. Visiting Istanbul, Cappadocia, Pamukkale and everywhere else was amazing, but for me, our guide and driver made this trip unforgettable. I give La Plus Belle Tour of Turkey 10/10!!!
