The itinerary covers alot of medieval history and also more recent history (WW2), which we found very interesting. The scenery is just beautiful, especially the Bavarian part.
We traveled to beautiful cities and had a well-rounded experience in the country of Germany. Loved every day.
The itinerary was ok but in the cities and villages it would be nice to go and explore more ie:shops , markets, inside of buildings like the opera houses. It was a lot of walk and talk with vox box and more walk and talk. I was not expecting to walk between 15,000 and 18,000 steps daily. People got tired of all the walk and talk and stopped listening.
I wish we had two days in Dresden. Otherwise, we loved the hotels and cities we stayed in. I felt rushed to choose optional tours on the bus the first day, and didn't like feeling pressured to select them all. Unfortunately, we didn't choose the Linderhof Palace option, unaware that it was on our tour route, and there wouldn't be anything else to do at that site, so we spent the morning in the gift shop. I genuinely believe this stop should be added to the trip itinerary. Carl was a fantastic tour guide, although he got into world economics more than I'd like on vacation. I researched several German tours, enjoyed the diversity this one offered, and was not disappointed.
I enjoyed this tour so much, and I loved our tour guide! The only recommendation that I would make is to add a town in the Alsace like Colmar, etc., between Heidelberg and Füssen to break up that long drive.
Exceeded expectations in covering the breadth of Germany.
Perhaps more time in Munich.? Very rushed with no shopping time if one does all the extra excursions. Would have loved to browse in the city centre.
We saw a wide variety of Germany from Berlin to the Bavarian region. Much history was covered on the trip. The food was wonderful!
Great tour and places to see, can't miss it. The German medieval towns are so interesting in history and to visit the old towns for understanding the German culture.
A nice overview of different German cities. Liked 2 nights stay in most hotels. Good meals included. Nice hotels in good locations.
It's a comprehensive itinerary. There were a couple of days in the motor coach that were long, however the ride was very comfortable and I appreciated the extra leg room. Our Tour Guide kept things interesting by playing music and speeches (Charlie Chaplin) and sharing her extensive knowledge of the country.
A really good overview of many of Germany's highlights, with lots of fun excursions.
Well paced, great balance of cities and smaller historical towns. Great hotels and excursions.
Outstanding. Saw so much beautiful country. Learned so much important history. Experienced so many gracious people. We will be returning!
Best of Germany was a fun adventure. There are a couple of things I would suggest. The tour guide in Dresden knew a lot of information, but she kept us standing in one spot after another for long periods of time, and she was hard to hear. Found the woodworking place boring. Sorry I would have liked to visit more castles. Hotels were great. My 16-year-old grandson liked the tour, but he wasn't too keen on the food. *personal info removed by Feefo* in Berlin, was excellent. Porcilian factory, my grandson had no desire to see. Everything was rather rushed, we need to slow down a bit, let us explore and enjoy what we are seeing. Maybe have a hands-on project at one of the stops. Have a game where each person gets a sheet with daily activities to check off, and ask the tour agent to see if people notice this—some game where you can explore and see more. Learn history. Have a language sheet that can help us understand the language better. Name tags for each traveler, so it’s easier to remember their names. The pillows in the Rotherburg hotel were terrible. They need to upgrade them. The night waterman in Rotherburg was super, that should be on the tour. Did not go to Nuremberg, explored Rothenburg instead. Tour guy *personal info removed by Feefo* in Rotherburg was great too. We had A LOT OF RAIN. Need to slow down so we can see what we are seeing. Grandson loved the printing press; he got to do it and keep what he printed—made his day. Hands-on things so we can make things. Just some thoughts
Comprehensive tour of Germany, but a too rushed at times.
Germany is a beautiful country with friendly people & food to write home about.
That it covers a lot of Germany and its history. You see most of Germany and the diversity within the country.
It is busy with little down time, unless you don't go on any of the optional excursions. However, the excursions are excellent! Many major cities and locations are on this tour.
The whole experience was great
The trip is well laid out with time for self exploration of the stops and group time activities. We didn’t have to worry about many things during the trip because our tour director had it all handled. Great trip if you are looking the travel with a guide group.
It is a little patchy, or enough content/sights etc unless you take the optional (extra cost) tours.
It was very interesting and educational with lots of beautiful scener.y
The itinerary was terrific. A nice blend of small towns and large cities. The hotels were located in very convenient locations
Beautiful scenery. Loved everything about this trip. The itinerary was excellent, hotels were top class and centrally located.
It was very educational and delightful! A wonderful variety of the beautiful country!
Amaizing so well organizer
It covers almost all the important sites in Germany. Berlin tour included many WWII sites. Dresden, Rothenburg, Heidelberg, Munich all spectacular. Loved Rhine River cruise. Frankfurt was OK but nothing special. Weimar was nice but not really my interest. Loved Potsdam and Nuremberg.
The 2 days spent in the cities is good. Too much time spent in Dachau concentration camp could have covered in half hour. All hotels were good and the optional tours good. Pay for as many or as little as you want. The dinner in Rudesheim was excellent and fun.
Tour guide was superb
