The walking route was nicely maintained, with the mix of hikes across the island. I literally have seen all the gems of La Gomera! The extra days on the beach after almost a week of hikes was amazing as well. It was my first self-guided walking tour, I was a bit concerned if I’ll be able to complete (not being really super fit), but it went so good - instructions are well written, it was easy to follow and on the route my hiking shoes and walking sticks helps a million. I was able to both work out and to unwind. Thank you for all organizational support, good choice of hotels and walking guidance.

What a great trip! Full on. Some long days. But what a way to tick off things on your bucket list. The accommodation was as expected, mixed: querky, comfortable and, at worst, indifferent. Eating out was excellent and not too expensive. We chose the trip because of the itinerary, which was brought to life at every stage by our guide who was one of the best we have had on any trip. I would recommend it to anyone interested in Spain and its fascinating history.

Walking Granada and in Las Alpujarras was an amazing walk, in beautiful autumn weather. The region and its villages was fascinating, the accommodation and food commendable. This was an amazing trip. Varied and interesting hiking, experienced authentic southern Spain, amazing history. Hosts in all the places we stayed were excellent, accommodations were stellar! And a special mention of the hosts at Posada San Marcos (Alajar) who coordinated the transportation, were helpful and knowledgeable about the area and provided a wonderful 3 night stay at the end of the trip.

Tour leader was first rate, best I have ever had on any tour. Hotels one - Casa Rural de Los Camellos, Aguimes. Beautiful characterful buildings and interior courtyard, breakfast OK, staff welcoming and responsive, aircon unreliable. Hotel two - La Aldea suites, La Aldea. Quality modern hotel with well appointed rooms and a pool, superior breakfast, staff welcoming and responsive. Walking was excellent. Two particularly spectacular days in the pine forested areas (to Roque Nublo and down from P. de Las Nieves). Other days held some interest and a few little surprises. Hair pin bends from start to finish on any journey across the island interior, but all adds to the experience.

Bert was a fantastic guide - nothing too much trouble, very patient, knowledgeable and organised. He even made sure we got our boat tickets to visit another part of the island on the rest day - which was above and beyond his responsibilities. The hikes were great, island very beautiful and good variety of landscape. We also had bonus of the wonderful Ester - a trainee guide of very high caliber.
