You pass on through some of the most stunning views witnessing the great Three High Passes (Renjo La, Cho La, and Kongma La). The trip starts from day one here in Kathmandu, from where you will be catching a flight to Lukla. The trekking part comes into action the same day, as you will be reaching Phakding on the very first day. With the days moving on you go on an adventure to witness the great Everest Base Camp and Mt. Everest just above it. Also, the Gokyo Lakes are a great attraction for this trek.
The Three High Passes trek is a combination of great experiences, that offer you the views of many eight-thousand-meter peaks with some seven thousand ones. This includes great peaks such as Ama Dablam, Pumori, Cholatse, Khumbutse, Khangtega, Nuptse, and Lhotse.
Cultural Greatness of Three High Passes Trek
Passing through the ancient cultural valley of the Sherpa People, who are known for their unique rich culture and traditions. Throughout your trial, you pass on through many Buddhist monasteries and monuments scattered along the trail. In addition, to this great perk, you also get to explore the rare flora and fauna of this region. With a chance to experience some rare wildlife of this region such as musk deer, blue sheep, Himalayan tahr, barking deer, blood pheasant, Tibetan snow-cock, crimson-horned pheasant, and domesticated yaks.
The itinerary is very well thought out with lots to see and do. Everyday had a highlight and the Nepalese are so friendly and inviting. The views of the Himalayas in Nagarkot and Pokhara were stunning. The hotels were in excellent locations throughout. There are walks for those who want to and options for those who don't. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, regardless of physical ability. Our tour leader, Su, was excellent and worked tirelessly to ensure our safety, enjoyment and general happiness. He is the best leader I have had out of some 27 tours. This is Explore's strong point - they know how to pick and train tour leaders and Su was the best of the best.

An excellent trip with a great Bhutanese tour leader and driver. Such a beautiful and peaceful country and a big contrast to hectic, noisy and dirty Kathmandu. A fairly relaxed tour with highlights of the black crane festival, Tiger’s Nest monastery, Punakha and more. Generally good hotels except in Phobjika Valley, which had power cuts, cold rooms and poor food. Food in Bhutan was a bit monotonous- generally very similar buffets. Excellent guide and driver. Recommended.
