Just completed the Gokyo Lakes, Gokyo Ri, Cho-La and EBC treks with this local travel expert and had an unforgettable experience. Throughout the whole process Chhatra was an impressive communicator - very responsive, simple, clear and informative. Our guide (Rinji) and porter (also Rinji !!) were incredibly flexible in helping us make the impossible, possible - whilst always looking out for our health and wellbeing. We did the 4-day Kathmandu valley trek and it was one of the most indelible and life-changing experiences. The trek encompasses so much more than just the view itself (which is ethereal!) -- you get to meet and interact with locals that would welcome you to take a basum (a break) on their porch, taste authentic Nepali cuisines, and maybe even pick up a few Nepali phrases. The company did a wonderful job communicating with us and catering to our questions and concerns throughout the trip. Big shoutout to our guide Bibek for being literally the best Dai/teacher one could ask for! I would definitely recommend touring/trekking with this local travel specialist and specifically appoint Bibek as your guide if that could be arranged! Dhan Yavad Feri bhetaula🙏🙏🙇🙇

I booked this trek at quite short notice in September 2018.
My schedule was a bit tight so I had to cut the trip short from the standard 12 days down to 11, but this was no problem for Friends adventure who were able to fit the trek in plus an extra day of whitewater rafting as well.
Hira, my guide, was very helpful, knowledgable and friendly and made sure everything went to plan, so that I managed to make it to Base Camp and Kala Pathar as well (and I'm an unfit 50 year old who hadn't really done enough training).
The trek itself was spectacular and everything I'd hoped it would be.
I would definitely recommend Friends Adventure to anyone planning a trip to Nepal.

Guide and Porter were excellent. Lodging exceeded expectations. Although the weather wasn't great, our experience is one that will stick with us for a lifetime. This local travel specialist was an excellent choice for our big adventure trip to Everest base camp. I did a lot of research before booking a trip and saw that they had the best reviews online. Our guide Ram and assistant Rabi were amazing. They made the trip even better. They were very caring and helpful. They choose a best guest house in all locations, and we did not have to worry about where to stay, what to eat etc. I highly recommend this agency and will hopefully get a chance to use them again!

My boyfriend and I decided to do this trek and jump straight in the deep end with not much trekking experience let alone at altitude.
We couldn't have been happier with Dawa our guide and Ravindra our porter. Right from our pickup at the airport all the way through to our final dinner in Kathmandu, we were always looked after so well. Dawa was also very experienced and knew a lot about the circuit as well as the history and culture of Nepal. We learnt so much and are so pleased we this trek.

Summit Mera Peak - November 2026

I did the Mera Peak trekking over 15 days, organized by local tour specialists. Mr. Krishna Subedi (Kris) is the manager of the organization. He is a very good co-ordinator, puts you immediately on whatsapp when you arrive, and keeps following up your trekking and summit experience. When there were small problems, he immediately took action and contacted the right people. My guide Mr. Neyma Sherpa was also very helpfull and an excellent guide.
The trek itself was very enjoyable. The Tea houses were very good and they were very flexible when i prefered another teahouse than the one they already booked.
A few extra things to keep in mind:
- The month May used to be the best month for Mera Peak but we had a lot of rain... May-be April or October is becoming better now...
- Listen to your guide at all times and don't go up to fast. The trekking is also about acclimatizing. Sometimes you need that extra day at 4000m...
- Take a portable solar panel with you and a power bank. (min 12W, 20W is better). It will pay itself back. You pay a lot in the teahouses to get your phone charged (a lot of them also use solar power).
- I personally prefer not to rent climbing gear but to take my own. I always hike and climb with the same pair of C boots with semi-automatic crampons. My C boots are big enough to wear 2 pair of socks if necessary. My smartwhool socks were warm enough on the summit day (-10 to -15 °C)
- Take a porter. They are not expensive and your hiking comfort will increase a lot.
- Don't forget to use sunscreen, especially on the summit day when you leave at 2 am in the dark and you're not thinking about the sun at that time.
- Make sure you are in excellent physical shape. After the summit, you will need 3 more days to get to Lukla.

The local tour operator provided a very good, friendly and sensible guide to accompany me as a solo traveller going to poon hill circuit. The office was very organised, confirming a price quote quickly so that I could make arrangements. I'd recommend this trek, preferably out of the busiest season. I'm sure this company would make a very good tailor made tour for individual needs at any time of year.
