The Everest Base Camp Trek is a bucket-list adventure that beckons seasoned hikers to the roof of the world. Traversing lush valleys, rhododendron forests, and rugged mountain paths, you’ll trace the Dudh Koshi river to Namche Bazaar and onward through a landscape dominated by 8,000-meter giants. Highlights include the dramatic ascent to Kala Patthar and the ultimate goal: standing at Everest Base Camp itself. Throughout the journey, teahouse lodges offer a warm haven each night, blending local hospitality with the camaraderie of fellow trekkers. This trekking tour stands out for its combination of challenging terrain, breathtaking Himalayan views, and the thrill of following in the footsteps of legendary mountaineers—a true classic for those seeking one of the world’s greatest adventures.

day 1 - Fly Kathmandu to Lukla Trek to Phakding (2,652 m.)

Early in the morning flight to Lukla from where all Everest treks start. We meet the rest of our team in Lukla and start trekking from there. We walk on a trail that gradually descends to Cheplung village from where we get a glimpse of Mt. Khumbila, a sacred mountain which has never been climbed. From here, we gradually descend until Phakding.

day 2 - Trek to Namche (3,446 m.)

We continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Koshi, crossing this majestic river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. After entering Sagamartha National Park, the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views. Namche Bazaar known as the Gateway to Everest, is home to many quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, money exchanges, internet cafes and a bakeries. Namche is one of the biggest villages along the whole Everest trail. Overnight at Guesthouse.

day 3 - Acclimatization Day Namche

This is essentially a day of rest at Namche in order to acclimatize our bodies with such elevation. You will have the opportunity to hike to Khumjung village (3,786m) and explore monasteries and local Sherpa villages. Namche itself is a famous town with some modern facilities. Enjoy your visit around, you’ll then stay overnight.

day 4 - Trek to Thyangboche (3867 m.)

We start our trek with pleasant walk through the forest with magnificent view of mountains. We follow a spectacular path that traverses around the hillside high above the Dudh Kosi River. After walking one hour you will arrive in Phungithanga. The trail climbs past some water-powered prayer wheels and begins a sustained climb through a forest of tall, mature rhododendrons. Look out for musk deer and Himalayan Tahr among the trees. The start of the Tengboche (3867m), the village is scattered across a wide, grassy saddle below a crescent-shaped ridge covered by scrub pines and firs. From the view point at the top of the hill, there are awe-inspiring views of distinctive peaks like Amadablam (6856m), standing proud of the massif containing Everest (8848m), Nuptse (7861m), Lhotse (8501m) and inspiring views of Himalayan giants. We visit the Buddhist Monastery at Tengboche, the largest in Khumbu region.

day 5 - Trek to Dinboche (4,410 m.)

In the morning views of mountain and monasteries are spectacular in Tengboche. From Tengboche we head north and soon cross the Dudh Kosi river by way of a small suspension bridge which spans a deep chasm in the river valley. Follow the trail as far as Orsho and take the lower path along the west bank of the Imja Khola, through the forest of birches conifers and rhododendrons. As we follow the river northward the trails pass through several chortens and mani walls and small villages. Today's walk offers views of the Mt.Tawache, Ama Dablam and to the north-Pokalde (5741m), Kongma-tse (5820m) and the great wall of Nuptse. Dingboche is also the gateway to Chukung and farther beyond for the most challenging traverses towards Makalu area. We enjoy the beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls to protect the barley, buckwheat and potatoes. Overnight stay in Dingboche.

day 6 - Acclimatization in Dingboche (4360m)

This will be our second day of rest. Simply relish and relax in a place of such natural beauty for the day or take a short climb to the top of the ridge and admire three of the six highest peaks in the world including Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyo. Stay overnight.

day 7 - Trek to Lobuche (4,930 m.)

We continue up the wide valley beneath the impressive peaks of Cholatse and Tawache on the left. We then turn right and take a steep climb towards the foot of the Khumbu Glacier. The tea house at Duglha is a good spot to have lunch. The trail zigzags up through the boulders of the glacier's terminal moraine. At the top of this climb there are many stone cairns, built as memorials to the many Sherpas who have died while climbing Mt Everest. The path then climbs gently along the glacier, to eventually reach the cluster of houses at Lobuche. We enjoy all our full board meals and get set for a good night’s sleep.

day 8 - Trek to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorakhshep

The first section of the trail from Lobuche follows the narrow gap between the glacial moraine and the mountain walls, past turn off to the Italian pyramid. Take time to detour to the edge of moraine to look over the Khumbu glacier. Along windy and rocky path with the wonderful view of Mt. Pumori, Nuptse and other magnificent peaks, we reach Gorakshep. Gorakshep is the location of the original Everest Base Camp with the new camp being further up the valley.

day 9 - Hike up to Kala-Patthar (5,545 m.) Trek to Pheriche

We wake up early for the walk up to Kala Patthar. It is dark outside with cold temperature and most likely chilly winds. We walk on a fairly steep trail at a comfortable pace. As we are climbing up the hill we can see Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse mountains. The view from the summit is outstanding. We can see the world’s tallest mountain Everest along other mighty Himalayan peaks. After spending some time at the summit of Kala Patthar, we walk back to Gorak Shep which is relatively easier than hiking up to Kala Pathhar.

day 10 - Trek to Tyangboche

From Periche we take a slightly different route down to Orsho, then to Pangboche village. Here is the oldest monastery in the region which contains what is said to be the scalp and bones of a 'Yeti', or the abominable snowman. Leaving mountains behind us, our descent takes us through Tengboche Monastery at elevation of 3860 meters. Overnight at Guesthouse.

day 11 - Trek to Namche

Leaving mountains behind us, our descent takes us through Tengboche Monastery at elevation of 3860 meters before continuing back to the town of Namche Bazaar at 3441meters. We arrive back to Namche Bazaar in the afternoon. Overnight at Guesthouse.

day 12 - Trek to Lukla

Taking in the superb view of landscapes and mountains in the distance, you’ll also have the chance to meet and converse with local people in the area. Overnight stay at Lukla.

We catch an early morning flight to Kathmandu after our long mountain journey. After reaching Kathmandu, Our guides can help you transfer to your hotel. There will be a farewell dinner in the evening to celebrate the successful completion of our journey.
