    Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking 6-Day Machame Route

    The 6-day Machame route is the most beautiful route up the famous Mount Kilimanjaro. The route is best suited to adventurous hikers looking for an authentic and rustic experience, as the route offers tented accommodation only, and all your equipment and supplies are brought up with help from a porter. A cook prepares all your meals. However, hikers will be rewarded with a scenic splendour that is not seen on the Marangu route, from late afternoon sunsets at Shira to the misty revelations of Kibo at the great Barranco Wall. The Machame route is normally completed in a minimum of six days. The added benefit to the six days means you are afforded the most valuable commodity on the mountain – time to acclimatize. This is our most successful and popular hiking route on Mt. Kilimanjaro, mainly as a result of the following two important factors. First, on day 3 of the hike, the topography of this route allows you to climb high and sleep low – as you start from Shira camp (3 847m) hike up to Lava Tower (4 642m) and then down to Barranco camp (3 984m) for overnight. Second, the summit attempt path from Barafu camp has less loose scree (rocks) compared to the summit attempt path from Kibo Hut, making it slightly easier to reach the crater rim. NB: With small Additional cost we can book for you accommodation before or/and after summiting Mount Kilimanjaro.

    A perfect mix of wildlife and relaxation, this tour combines the amazing wildlife of the Serengeti National Park with the relaxing tropical paradise that is Zanzibar Island, and offers a great introduction to Tanzania. This is an overland tour, travelling in a fully equipped comfortable expedition truck, combined with 4x4 safari vehicles and a minibus on Zanzibar. Arriving in Nairobi we head south across the border to Arusha, gateway to the wildlife heart of Tanzania. From here we head into the Serengeti National Park, making stops at the Ngorongoro crater, home to an unrivalled density of wildlife, and then the Seronera region of the park. After our wildlife experience we head towards Zanzibar and the coast. We spend the last three days of our tour relaxing on the tropical paradise that is Zanzibar Island. There is plenty to do including the historic World Heritage Site of Stone Town, bustling markets, spice tours, swimming, snorkelling or just a bit of sunbathing. The trip comes to an end in Stone Town, Zanzibar. The tour is available either based mainly on camping in traditional 2-person tents (which we provide together with camp beds), or as an upgraded 'accommodated' version where you sleep in lodges, hotels, or permanent camps (with proper beds & facilities).     The first day of our safari we visited Tarangire National Park. The highlight was definately the enormeous amount of elephants that we saw. But the whole park was unbelieveable beautiful and stuffed with wildlife. The time there flew way to fast! I would like to visit it again at a time when the Tarangire river is flowing. On day two we went to the Ngorongoro crater. The view from the top is very scenic, and the crater itself is filled with a lot of different animals. We spotted a black rhino, a pack of hyenas chasing an ostrich and countless lions.

From there you will travel to Serengeti National Park to head on exhilarating game drives in search of the Big Five. Your next stop will be in the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world. Search for jackals, serval cats, wild hunting dogs, and many more species of animals amid the plains, forests, swamps, and dunes before you travel to Tarangire National Park. Next, we visit Ruaha National Park, the second-largest national park in Tanzania which covers an area of about 22,000 km². It is one of Tanzania's few famous wilderness areas, whereby the experience of game viewing is spiced up by the exciting landscape and the Great Ruaha River. The park has a high concentration of elephants and magnificent mammals and a habitat for endangered wild dogs, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, elands, impalas, bat-eared foxes, and jackals. Last, we spend a day and a half at Udzungwa, the most significant example of the Eastern Arc Mountains' natural world, which runs in a chain through the whole of Tanzania. The forest makes Udzungwa unique in East Africa, and there is no other place with unbroken series of wood stretching from an altitude of 250 meters up to more than 2000 meters.
