This comprehensive tour of Egypt is designed especially for families wanting a time exploring some of Egypt's most well-known ancient sites, along with more active trips for the children, combined with some quality time relaxing by the Red Sea. We keep our group sizes small, and select our family friendly guides to help bring Egypt alive for both children and parents alike. Including a traditional felucca cruise on the Nile, awesome sightseeing, and a stop at a beach resort by the Red Sea, this family tour will create memories to last a lifetime.
We start this family tour in Cairo with a visit to the awe-inspiring Pyramids and Sphinx, followed by a trip to the vast Egyptian Museum - famous for its Tutankhamun exhibition and creepy mummy room. Next, we climb aboard the overnight sleeper train and make our way south to the picturesque town of Aswan on the banks of the River Nile. Here we visit the temple of Philae, join in on an English/Arabic language session at a local school (term times only), and enjoy a traditionally prepared Nubian meal with a locla family. There is also an early morning option to visit the amazing Sun Temple of Ramses II at Abu Simbel. Leaving Aswan behind we float down the River Nile on board a traditional Egyptian felucca sailboat taking in the rural scenery along the way. In Luxor, we delve underground into the ancient pharaonic tombs of the Valley of the Kings and marvel at the vast temple complex of Karnak. We next drive to the Red Sea at Hurghada to enjoy a relaxing 4-night beach stay before catching the flight back to Cairo. We finish off our Egyptian adventure with a tour of Cairo, including the Citadel and Khan-el-Khalili bazaar then transfer you back to the airport for your flight home.
This tour has been arranged specifically for those travelling with children aged from 5 to 16 years (minimum age 5) - child discounts are available.

Among all the routes used to climb the mighty Kilimanjaro, the Lemosho Route is a relatively new one. This route has less traffic compared with other routes and a high summit success rate at the same time. Join us on this seven-day, private, guided expedition and conquer Africa's highest mountain.
We will pick you up from your hotel or accommodation in Moshi and drive you to Londorossi Gate on the first day of the tour (one night's pre-tour accommodation included in the tour price). Hit the trail after all the formalities are done.
Spend the first two days travelling through a rainforest to reach Shira Ridge after which comes the Shira Plateau. Unlike the popular Machame Route, which only passes through a section of the plateau, the Lemosho Route crosses the entirety of the plain from west to east. The routs climbs upward from the plateau via Lava Tower, Barranco and Barafu (known as the southern circuit) to reach Kilimanjaro summit.
In addition to having less traffic, this route is considered by many to be the most scenic route to the top of the mountain. Enjoy panoramic vistas of the mountain from different angles during the trip. We will drop you off at your accommodation in Moshi after the tour is over.
Be ready for an exciting 3-day safari trip in two adjoining national parks. Visit Tsavo West National Park, located in the Coast Province of Kenya, and see a variety of African wildlife like never before. Move on to Tsavo East National Park and explore its red-soil plains. See elephants, rhinos, lions, giraffes and other animals and birds in their natural habitat.
Take a guided nature walk to Mzima Springs, whose resident animals include hippos and crocodiles along with different species of birds. Visit Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, spread over a 90-sq-km area at the base of Ngulia Hills, and learn more about endangered black rhinos, whose population has rebounded in recent years.
Set off from the Berea, learning about Durban’s origins and take in the skyline from our favourite lookout point. We then make our way to the commuter’s daily crossroad, Warwick Triangle, indulging our senses in the vibrant diversity of the Victoria, Muti and Early Morning Markets.
Engage with citizens as you explore the arcades that further criss-cross the city, and educate your palate with a true testament of Durban’s Indian culinary heritage- the “bunny chow”. Stretch your legs with a walk around the historic city centre, from City Hall to the inner city gardens and end off the trip with a scenic drive along Durban’s harbour, Africa’s busiest port.
Skip the taxi line with our private airport shuttle! Our professional driver picks you up at the arrival area at the airport and takes you to your hotel or residential areas in Durban, including central business-district areas, Durban beachfront, Umhlanga, Berea, Morningside, Musgrave and other areas within Durban.
Enjoy a comfortable and private ride.
Our own shuttle services also include picking you up from your hotel or residential areas in Durban to King Shaka international airport.
Distance from Durban to King Shaka International airport may range from 30 minutes to 1 hour subject to traffic conditions.
Machame Route (also known to as the "Whiskey Route") is the most beautiful route up Kilimanjaro with high summit success rate. It rewards hikers with scenic splendors. From late afternoon sunsets at Shira to the misty revelations of Kibo at the great Barranco Wall, witness a scenic "slide show" as you trek to the top of the world's highest free-standing mountain.
There is an added benefit to taking the Machame Route, as you are afforded the most valuable commodity on the mountain: acclimatization. The route takes you high to Lava Tower (4,630m) on Day 3 and brings you down by nearly 700m for an overnight at Barranco camp (3,950m). This is the secret to successful acclimatization.
(Note: All your equipment and supplies are portered and a cook prepares all your meals. While the accommodation on the Marangu route is in huts, the Machame route offers strictly tents only accommodation.)
See the itinerary section for more details about this tour.

Embarking on this iconic journey, you are invited to traverse the storied waters of the Nile, embarking from the grandeur of Cairo, where the Pyramids and Sphinx stand as eternal sentinels of Egypt's rich history. Your voyage unfolds southward, navigating through the heartland of ancient civilization, toward the enchanting realms that lie between Luxor and Aswan.
Venturing beyond the beaten path, this expedition unveils a rare opportunity. Historically inaccessible, the lower reaches of the Nile between Cairo and Abydos have long eluded the typical tourist trail. Yet, a select few now have the chance to partake in a journey that spans this lesser-trodden terrain. Few and far between are the vessels that undertake the full passage from Cairo to Luxor each year, making this voyage a truly exclusive experience.
As the ship charts its course, you'll encounter hidden gems of antiquity, such as Tel Amarna, Beni Hassan, and Hermopolis, where time seems to stand still amidst the remnants of ancient civilizations. Along the verdant banks of the Nile, glimpses of rural life unfold, offering a window into the everyday existence of the Egyptian people.
Upon reaching Luxor, the pace quickens, and the river teems with activity. Explorations on the west bank unveil the majestic Valley of the Kings, the resplendent Temple of Queen Hatchepsut, and the towering Colossi of Memnon, each a testament to the grandeur of Egypt's pharaonic past. Across the waters, the east bank beckons with the monumental Karnak and Luxor Temples, where gods and pharaohs once held court amidst towering columns and intricate hieroglyphs.
For those embarking on the extended 15-day voyage, the journey continues southward, past the ancient temples of Edfu and Komombo, toward the final destination of Aswan. Here, amidst the tranquil waters, the island temple of Philae rises in splendor, a testament to the enduring legacy of Egypt's spiritual heritage. Optional excursions beckon to the legendary temples of Abu Simbel, relocated to higher ground to escape the encroaching waters of Lake Nasser.
As the journey draws to a close, the ship bids farewell, either in Luxor following the 12-day expedition or in Aswan after the extended 15-day odyssey. From these ancient shores, travelers embark on their homeward journey, their hearts filled with the timeless echoes of Egypt's storied past, their minds enriched by the treasures unearthed along the banks of the mighty Nile.
