I had to change my travel plans the last minute and signed up for this trip. There is no way I could have seen half of this itinerary if I travelled independently and it would have costed me much more. The country towns were absolutely beautiful. Switzerland and this insight tour exceeded my expectations. It was extremely well organized. There was a nice balance of free time and group excursions. I was impressed with the tour director. He was extremely professional and conscientious. He was very knowledgeable and was able to communicate extensive information eloquently and with wit. The driver was also excellent and very professional. He managed to drive the coach through some challenging roads. I felt extremely safe and comfortable with his impressive driving.

The itinerary covered everything I wanted to see. The whole tour was amazing. I was truly overcome by the Alps, the Matterhorn and the Wounded Lion Sculpture. The evening of Swiss folklore was so fun, loved the interaction with the entertainment. The optional choices were also great and well worth doing.

Switzerland is enchanting with its majestic, snowcapped mountains and charming villages and towns. Bring very warm clothes because this tour included some excursions to higher elevations, i.e., to view the Matterhorn and Mt. Eiger, where even in May, it was below freezing or even snowing. Walking inside a glacier, as we did, can also be rather chilly, so gloves, scarves, hats are in order.

With the exception of one substandard hotel, I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was well organised and well managed by pleasant and personable individuals. They worked hard to meet the various needs of the tour participants and took us to breathtaking places and involved us in fun and memorable activities. I loved not having to think about all the details of bookings and transport and scheduling and I appreciated the knowledge shared by our caring tour guide.

This was an incredible, once in a lifetime experience. I cannot recommend this trip more highly. Our knowledgeable and professional Tour Leader (Angela) and our wonderful driver (Ettore) consistently went above and beyond in every single instance. The planned tours included truly authentic cheese; wine and cooking experiences along with train, boat and cable car experiences which were all incredible. It even snowed for us!! I really enjoyed the accommodation, with the included porterage being a real bonus. Angela made everyone feel valued and included with attention and communication being next level. Thank you Back Roads. What an incredible trip!!

Great travel director! He made sure everything was in order & even took videos & pictures of our group. Best hotel was in Zermatt at the Hotel Hemizeur with our room directly facing the Matterhorn along the sun deck floor (thanks a lot!!!). However, Hotel Reine Victoria in St Moritz was not that great since the shower area was too tight! Also, food during welcome dinner was just ok. Farewell dinner was also ok, except we didn't enjoy the schnitzel. Noticed that the restaurant choices of Trafalgar are not that highly-rated and just average. Despite these setbacks, tour was fun and memorable!
