Wonders of Turkey

Turkey is a very ancient country and it has many interesting things to see that you don't necessarily know about.

Excellent. Everything was good. Just the right amount of time in each location in Turkey. Accommodation was great. Small group was a bonus. Tour guide was amazing, so friendly & knowledgeable.

Everything was amazing from start to finish! I especially liked learning more about the ancient ruins of Troy and Ephesus from our guide who not only shared his knowledge but also stories of the time period that really helped.

It gives a good look at different regions of Turkey, particularly those of interest to many people.

Great to see all the Greek ancient sites. Shame the locals don't recognise Greece as the origins preferring to call everything Roman!

Pretty all encompassing and well rounded. Shows the amazing things Turkey has to offer. A couple days were a little lackluster dude to long drives, but still incredible

There was an excellent selection of sites, history, and adventures in Turkey. Tour Director was friendly and the most knowledgeable guide I had on a tour, without getting boring. This tour changed my opinion of Turkey and the people in a very positive way.

The places we went to were interesting, inspiring and beautiful. However, the 11-12 hour bus trip from the West Coast to Cappadocia was way too long. I recommend a flight from the West Coast of Turkey to Cappadocia (or someplace close). We spent a wasted day in a bus stopping at nice gas stations and eating at them. I would only recommend this trip if that change is made for the reason stated above.

This is an amazing itinerary filled with all the highlights of Turkey. I loved that the itinerary had a little bit of everything-bustling cities, incredible landscapes, cultural experiences, historical places, museums, delicious food and excellent hotels.

Great introduction to the country, its history, and its culture. Also, good exposure to many different aspects of Turkey: its history, its people, its traditions, and its many interesting geological formations. I thought the visit to Ataturk’s tomb might have been something we could have skipped, although more could have been done to explain his overwhelming importance for modern Turkish history. More time could have been spent touring Istanbul. To gain that additional time, perhaps the visit to Gallipoli might have been omitted, since it was anything but a decisive battle in World War I. I also wish that the archaeological level at the Troy site that was the “original” Troy might have been clarified better—although this was really the fault of the site, not Insight. All in all, a very satisfying experience.

Too much travel. Trip should be longer or fewer places. Excellent guide and driver.

The tour director, Orhan,was the best. We learned so much about this country that we never knew. From Istanbul’s Mosques to Capadocia’s rock homes it was amazing. Well identified itinerary great food at local restaurants too.

The itinerary gave an excellent overview of the country and included a variety of experiences - from WWI history in Gallipoli to ancient cities like Ephesus to a farm-to-fork experience.
