Tour Peles Castle, the former summer residence of the Romanian royal family
Visit Bran Castle, popularly called 'Dracula's Castle'
Explore Sighisoara, the last inhabited citadel in Europe
Visit Biertan, a UNESCO-designated village with fortified churches
I honestly do not know if my words can truly describe how incredible this trip was and the exceptional, first-class service our guide, Traian, provided. We saw so many amazing castles, citadels, and fortified churches and did so much in four days that it is difficult to pick any one favorite. Peles Castle is truly the most beautiful; Bran (Dracula’s) Castle, the most eerie and intriguing; and Corvin Castle comes straight out of a fairytale. As for the citadels, I have to say that I favor Cetatea Rupea and for the churches, The Black Church, Biserica and Biertan held their own fascinating unique history of how they provided protection to their villagers. For the nights, we stay in the beautiful towns of Brasov, Sighisoara (birthplace of Vlad Dracula), and Sibiu. We enjoyed delightful outings walking the streets, seeing all the shops, the people, and enjoying the local foods. It was our wedding anniversary during our stay in Sibiu, and with the help of our guide, Traian, he secretly (unknown to my wife) arranged dinner at a wonderful restaurant for my wife and me. There was even a surprise anniversary cake with candles. Oh, and the hotels that we stayed at each night were amazingly distinctive to the town and culture. And, finally, on the last day, we traveled through the Carpathian Mountains along the famous Transfagarasan Road witnessing the beautifully breathtaking, winding, scenic route on our way back to Bucharest. We even had quite a few photo shoot opportunities of brown bears along the roadside. While I am sure that I have missed much, I just have to say that you must experience this marvelous adventure for yourselves. You will be astonished.
Nicu Apostol and Lulian Aruxandei arranged a four-days trip around Transylvania for me and I can only praise their efficiency and professionalism. Visiting Transylvania's castles and medieval cities is something I wanted to do since a long time, but my vacation days were limited, so travelling solo by train, for example, wouldn't have allowed me to see so much in a few days. My guide was Marcel and I was blown away by his knowledge of history, culture and infinite fun facts, not only about the main tour destinations but also about places we were driving through. We also had to deal with the weather and winter-schedule limitations, but if we couldn't make it somewhere, I was proposed an alternative, which was at least as nice as what was initially planned. This way I visited places I would'nt have seen otherwise and had the opportunity to exchange with local people. In summary this is a great tour company if you want to visit Romania, you can fully rely on their team to organize the tour of your dreams.
I cannot be more satisfied with this tour. Impecably organized but at the same time our guide Traian gave us the chance to make choices according to our preferences. Very intense tour due to the variety of activities, nevertheless Traian stayed always with us, something that I cannot say happened in other tours I have taken. Furthermore: what an awesome driver he was!!! All in all, it was a beautiful experience that I recommend wholeheartedly. Nicu will answer all your questions promptly. If I have to advise the readers I would say "take your time, and do the 4 days Transylvania experience . Immerse yourself into the culture, the landscapes, the tradition. It is so worthy!
Just 2 of us on the tour with our excellent guide Emil who was passionate and very knowledgeable about his country, it's history and culture. He made sure we had a great time seeing all the sights and even made a couple of suggestions which we did in addition to the planned itinerary. Seeing bears on the last day was an unexpected and very memorable bonus!
We had a lovely time in Transylvania and I would highly recommend it. Emil was a great guide, very knowledgeable and very considerate. He kept us on schedule throughout the trip and tried to accommodate any additional requests. Transylvania is absolutely stunning and Emil suggested we take the cable car ride over the Carpathian mountains since it was open. Then we saw the bears on the way down the mountains. The trip is quite intense with time in the evenings to either relax or go exploring. The hotels we stayed in were also really lovely. This travel agency also allowed us to book a family room for 3 of us and gave us a small discount on the price. The only thing I would say is food was a lot more expensive than I would have expected because we were in tourist areas so maybe do a bit of research before hand if you need to keep costs down.
"Absolutely a “bucket list” tour for sure! Our guide Ann spoke perfect English, was prompt every morning picking us from our comfortable hotel and was professional and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of all castles, monasteries and villages! Driving from one scenic location to the next was comfortable in our air conditioned sedan. Can’t thank Ann and her company enough for a trip which certainly is a highlight of all our years of travelling. Will recommend to anyone we know to travel through Romania with this company and request our fabulous guide Ann if available. Truly grateful for a fabulous 4 days done perfectly right"
Y'all, let me tell you, my 4-day Transylvania castle tour with this local travel specialist was an absolutely amazing experience! As a Texas girl, I'm used to seeing some big things, but the castles in Romania were truly something else. From the moment we arrived, the agency made us feel at home. Our tour guide was top-notch, and their knowledge of the castles and the region really added to our understanding and appreciation of this unique part of the world. We visited iconic castles like Bran Castle, famously associated with Dracula, and Peles Castle, which is an absolute masterpiece of neo-renaissance architecture. The history and stories behind these castles were absolutely fascinating, and our guide was full of interesting facts and anecdotes. Beyond the castles, we also had the chance to explore charming towns and villages, sample delicious local food, and learn about the culture and history of the region. It was a truly unique experience that I will never forget. Overall, I can confidently say that travelling with them was the best choice we could have made. Their attention to detail and commitment to ensuring that we had an unforgettable experience really made all the difference. If you're considering a trip to Romania, I highly recommend booking a tour with this agency - you won't be disappointed!
Excellent experience I would use this tour company again. Tour guide was very knowledgeable … all the hotels were wonderful.
Was a great way to experience several medieval castles in Romania. The guide, Iulian, was very knowledgeable on the history of each area visited as well as must see and must do activities in each town. This is highly recommended for couples and families with older children. Did not disappoint.
Until very end we didnt know if we will have a holiday or not because of the pandemic. Had an absolutely amazing time with Cristi. He had so much knowledge to share with us and I hope to come back to visit the Danube Delta.
