A brilliantly curated tour! I saw so much and so glad! It needs more time in Isle of Sky and the isle of Mull while beautiful is not worth the time it takes to get there and back (1hr ferry, 1 hr bus, 20 min ferry x2) it was the biggest let down of the whole trip and would be better replaced with isle of sky exploring, walking tour or free time in addition to a longer driving tour.
There is never enough time at each stop to see and do everything possible. Be sure to understand that all the stops cost you more money and if you choose not to do the offered event, you will be on your own to figure out where to go for your meal.
Great itinerary. I missed seeing Eilean Donan castle due to road closures but we did get to see it on a drive by. Good balance with castles, abbeys, and the beauty of Mother Nature. I was so glad to be able to see the beauty of the Scottish Highlands. I love rocks and geological formations and , our tour guide, was so good at sharing all about the area. He is such a wealth of information.
Scottish Highlands and Cities coach tour August/September 2025. Our tour guide, was sensational by calling on his extensive qualifications in historical matters combined with his media exposure to deliver a daily lecture and commentary as the tour wound its way into the Highlands and back again. This was my second tour of the Highlands (2015) but I learned more in two days with Speedy than I did for the 13 days of the previous tour. 👍🤩
Well travelled across Scotland and the Isles. The cities and towns were amazing to see along with the hairy coos. All of the historical sites were wonderful, so much history to see and learn about. The highlands were beautiful and it was really good to know that when there is sheep in the forest the results are no forest fires. As for the Isles I could only love them the most. The people were so friendly and welcoming.
It was a fast paced trip, but relatively well balanced. I really enjoyed seeing the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies. I loved seeing the islands and coastlines, and around the countryside.
Our highland trip was very exciting to my wife and me as we were able to not only the beautiful scenery but learn about the history of the land and its culture.
The travel director, and our driver , were amazing!
It is a fantastic mix of the big cities, and the solitude & peace of the islands and Highlands. Just enough time was given at the points of interest (guided tour plus time on our own to further explore). Great job Trafalgar! I highly recommend this tour!
Trip was great. Tour director and driver went above and beyond. Weather was unbelievable for Scotland in September. Loved it
Comprehensive and well organised. Good accommodation if a little quirky in some locations. Explicit instructions by tour director regarding the day’s plans. Safe coach driving with help if needed to get on and off coach. Some special offbeat excursions and advice as to restaurant options.
The tour was very good. As a first time visitor to Scotland it was a great way to explore all areas and learn the country’s history. It was nice to stay more than one night in a few places. The tour included breakfasts every day, which was great. It would be nice if at least half of the dinners were included as well. On some occasions, more time to check out stores and shops would be appreciated. At the end of a day’s tour, most shops are closed.
It was thorough. Really hits feel for the Scottish highlands. The tour director and the driver were very helpful and knew the area well. I highly recommend this trip. It was eye opening for me. Never understood the history of the area before.
