Scotland’s legends spring to life on this 12-day cultural journey from Glasgow to Edinburgh. Designed with both comfort and curiosity in mind, the 'Scotland: Land of Lore & Legend' tour invites travelers to trace the stories behind the country’s iconic whisky, clans, and dramatic landscapes.
Highlights include exploring Glasgow’s vibrant art scene, witnessing a sheepdog demonstration at a family-run farm, and a self-guided wander through a Highland township. Savor the 'water of life' at a local whisky tasting, marvel at ocean views from Loch Melfort, and explore the historic waterfront of Dundee before culminating in the capital’s timeless streets.
The unique selling point? Behind-the-scenes encounters—like farm visits and tastings—that immerse you in Scotland’s living heritage, offering a deeply personal perspective on its lore and legacy.
Wonderful experience. Will do another tour again in the upcoming year.
I enjoyed most of the excursions on the tour. I wasn't that impressed with the Bamff Ecotourism stop and the abbey on Iona. I was excited to go to the Culloden Battlefield but our time there was VERY short. My favorite day, the last day, was the day we went to Stirling Castle and the Kelpies.
The scenery was amazing and the cultural insights by our tour guide was very interesting! The food was excellent and the accommodations were great especially the one Loch Melford with the ‘hairy coos’ right out of our private back porch facing the loch! My favorite experience was the sheep farm and demonstration! It was fascinating and the family was so lovely and welcoming!
My favorite part was visiting the Highlands. So beautiful.
Stirling castle was one of my favorite locations along with Wesley chapel.
A favorite experience was the stay at Loch Melfort Hotel. Everything about this location was superior, the location on the loch, the service at the hotel, the beautiful Scottish countryside and the food at the restaurant was stellar!
Our tour guide Laura was absolutely the best. She was very informative and made everyone feel comfortable. She was definable on top of everything. Collette was also excellent from start to finish. The Military Tattoo was awesome! Highly recommend this tour. We definitely liked the smaller group of 22 people.
It was a great experience, I enjoyed it very much. Would very much recommend. The Tattoo was a great highlight. The Castles were great. The history very interesting
I arrived at the hotel early as I was coming from another tour, our guide was in the hotel and greeted me , let me know the room was not quite ready, which did not surprise me. Our guide was outgoing, efficient and a lot of fun. I would have liked to spend a little more time in a few of the stops, however, I know this is not what this type of tour is about. The tour ran smoothly, accommodations were fine, a few were unique, food was good. Loved the Scottish treats we were given to sample. The tattoo was for me among May highlights, I have wanted to attend for years. The tour fulfilled many of my wishes and expectations. With the Delta flight delayed, our guide did a fantastic job getting us to the airport.
Amber Morris is the very best tour guide. She makes the trip fantastic!
The Military Tatoo was the most memorable and then visiting St. Andrew’s golf course and college/town. Also our tour guide Amber Morris was the best tour guide I have ever had.
My favorite experience was going to the Whiskey Experience during my free time.
Remove the eco farm tour and the boat ride on the river. Both were a waste of time.
Donald was funny, knowledgeable and full of great stories. He was very accommodating to all tour members.
I loved Inverness, that was my favorite destination of the trip. I would cut the dolphin tour out of the trip and maybe spend that time in Oban then move onto the next destination. There was not enough time for Culloden, didn't have time to explore everything and felt rushed. Also, the Urquhart Castle was very rushed. We basically ran through taking pictures in order to make it back to the bus in time. Ian was a fantastic tour guide! I thoroughly enjoyed talking with him and learning about Scotland.
This tour was full of experiences that I don’t think I would’ve been able to find on my own. Our Tour Manager, Amber, was so competent, caring and fun! My favorite experience was visiting Iona Island and the meditative peace I was able to find there—closely followed by an amazing day at The Highland Games with the sounds of bagpipes everywhere.
