Trek through remote Northern Thailand and stay with the friendly locals
Northern Thailand comes alive on this 10-day cultural adventure from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, tailor-made for experienced travelers. Wander the evocative ruins of Ayutthaya, spend a night floating on a rafthouse, and ride a local train to Chiang Mai—before lacing up for a trek into the region’s tranquil hills and meeting hilltribe communities rarely visited by outsiders. With a moderate activity rating, the tour provides a balanced challenge, blending authentic encounters with the allure of Thailand’s landscapes and temples. Accommodation, meals, and transport are included, so you can focus on making memories. The USP? Genuine cultural immersion that lets you step into a different rhythm of life, offering stories you’ll share long after you return.
This was a fantastic experience. The G Adventures style provided a stress-free, fun, and informational trip.
A great balanced tour
Good city/nature balance. Trek was challenging -need to be fit.
I was apprehensive about joining this tour as a solo traveller in my 30s. I am so so glad I did it. The mix of people, authentic experiences and CEO organisation and knowledge were top class. The mix of nice hotels and trekking/homestays was perfect for me.
I really enjoyed the trip but it was more intense than I thought it would be! Nice to have the different side of seeing the tourist activities as well as the hillside tribe villages. I really enjoyed the hike although it was more challenging than I was expecting from the description given!
