Mysterious Thailand 10 Days

Sawadee! Welcome to the lovely country of Thailand. Upon landing at the airport after a long flight, our driver is ready to pick you up and escort you to the hotel for check-in. Stay overnight in Bangkok.

Leave Bangkok in the morning for northern Thailand. The first stop is Bang Pa In, the former summer residence of the kings of Ayutthaya built in the 18th century. There, you’ll visit the Royal Palace, the Thai Pavilion and the Chinese-style Palace Vihat Chamrun with its bushes trimmed in elephant shapes.

Continue to Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which used to be the former royal Siamese capital from 1350 AD to 1767 AD. See its most interesting temples. Proceed to Lopburi and visit Phra Prang Sam Yod, a temple with three towers and impressive ornaments as well as the shrine of the Hindu goddess Kali at the Sarn Prakarn Temple. Call it a day on reaching Phitsanuloke.

Have breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to Sukhothai, another UNESCO World Heritage site, and the 13th century capital of the Thai kingdom. Sukhothai is one of Asia’s most important historical sites. After visiting the temples of Wat Sra Sri and Wat Sri Chum, you will continue to Sri Satchanalai, the former sister town of Sukhothai, and discover some of its most interesting temples and ruins. Drive further north to Chiang Rai and check in at your hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, continue exploring Chiang Rai. Northern Thailand is well known for its exotic hill tribes and in the morning you will visit some of their villages. Drive along narrow hilly roads, enjoying spectacular views of the beautiful landscape and arrive at the villages of the Akha and the Yao hill tribes.

Spend some time here and then drive to Mae Sai, the northernmost town of Thailand, on its border with Burma. Continue to the heart of the infamous 'Golden Triangle', the meeting point of the borders of Burma, Laos and Thailand. For those who would like to come even closer to the border of Burma and Laos, an optional trip by boat on the Mekong River will be on offer.

Visit the old Opium House before continuing to the provincial town of Chiang Saen.

Have breakfast at the hotel and drive to Mae Ka Chan, famous for its hot springs. Continue the trip through scenic hillsides and jungles to Chiang Mai. Drive to the temple of Wat Phra Dhat Doi Suthep before heading for your hotel. In the evening, a traditional ‘kantoke’ dinner is on the program. Typical Thai dishes from the northern region will be served during the dinner accompanied by the performances of elegant Thai dancers.

Spend the day at an elephant rescue park (join-in basis). Arrive at the sanctuary in the morning and get briefed on the day’s activities for your one-on-one interactions with the rescued elephants. You will get to meet them, feed them, walk with them, hug them, play with them and bath with them.

Enjoy the memorable day and transfer back to your hotel in the afternoon. Stay overnight in Chiang Mai.

Have breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Chiang Mai Airport for your flight to Phuket.
