Uhuru Peak
Stella Point
Lava Tower
Shira Plateau
For avid trekkers and seasoned adventurers, the Lemosho route stands out as the premium way to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro. This 8-day trekking journey is especially favored for its outstanding acclimatization profile and sweeping vistas, including stops at Lava Tower, Barranco Camp, and Karanga Camp. The route’s unique approach starts with a high-altitude drop-off, allowing you to immediately immerse yourself in the alpine zone, skipping the first night at Shira 1 Camp for those on the 6-day itinerary. The Lemosho trek boasts the highest success rate among all 6-day routes, with about 80% of climbers reaching the summit. What truly differentiates this Kilimanjaro tour package is its harmonious combination of challenging adventure, spectacular scenery, and maximized chances for summiting, making it an exceptional choice for fit travelers seeking both excitement and achievement.
The group arrives at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Our representative will meet you and transfer to Aishi Machame Hotel.
Our manager will visit you in the evening, bringing a printed, signed and sealed agreement. He will give you a brief trekking orientation and check your equipment.
Important info:
The hotel price includes breakfast only.
Hotel check-in starts at 2 PM.
Our guides and climbing crew will come to the hotel. You will have a relatively long transfer (approx. 3-4 hours) to the Western entrance to Kilimanjaro National Park – Londorossi Gate (2360 m). After the park permits are arranged and the crew is registered with the emergency service, the group will ride in the vehicles to 3500 point. Once reached, the first spectacular panoramic views on Shira Plateau will open for you.
Walking from the “landing point” to your first checkpoint – Shira 2 Camp (3810) is not physically demanding. The altitude increases almost insensibly, which is especially conducive to effective acclimatization process. By the time of your arrival, the crew will arrange the camp and prepare a dinner for you.
It will be your first day on such elevation. We highly recommend you to follow these simple instructions:
• Reduce caffeine consumption
• Drink 4 liters (or more) of water (you should better drink in small portions, but frequently)
• Once the symptoms of the high altitude sickness are found, the intake of Diamox is advisable. Moreover, the pill can be taken as a preventive measure at the beginning of the trekking. Please, consult your physician on the possible individual allergic reactions.
Acclimatization is more difficult at night because of respiratory activity decrease multiplied by the high altitude. Once you discover the symptoms of high altitude sickness, ask the guides for help.
After the breakfast, the group leaves Shira 2 Camp and heads for another key point of our route – Lava Tower (4630 m). Many ups and lows lie ahead. Experiencing some discomfort is common among the amateur climbers at this stage of the ascent.
In order to make acclimatization process smoother it is advisable to spend 1-2 hours there. Our cooks will offer a warm lunch for you to make your stamina stronger.
Your Lava Tower adventures are followed by the descent to Barranco Camp, which amazes with its magnificence and steepness. Conquering it may seem to be daunting, but in reality it is a simple challenge – an easy walking path traverses it.
Important Note:
If high altitude sickness or other health disorder cowardly attacks one or some of the team members, you can bypass Lava Tower by taking the porters’ route. In this case, the group does not have to reach 4630 meters, the maximum altitude here on the porters’ route is 4400 meters only.
Early wake up, breakfast and you start conquering the Barranco Wall. We recommend starting as early as possible to outstrip other groups. Ascending the wall of the gorge is not a complexity at all. It takes only about one hour. After this accomplishment, you will have an opportunity to rest and take some photos, having spectacular Kibo volcano as a background.
Then a relatively complex trekking awaits you. The rest of the way to Karanga is full of highs and lows, but no worries, our guide will choose the most optimal trekking speed for you. After you reach the camp, a warm lunch will be offered. After a couple of hours, you will have an additional acclimatization hike up to 300 m towards Barafu and go back to the camp.
Important note:
Acclimatization hike is an easy trekking up to some minor altitudes. Please, kindly note, that these acclimatization hikes are very important in order to reach Uhuru Peak successfully and will help you to prevent AMS (acute mountain sickness).
Our cooks will serve a breakfast; then you will climb to the summit camp Barafu (4673 m). From there you will make a night push to Uhuru Peak (5895 m). You will spend the remainder of the day there, adapting to the altitude and regaining your stamina.
Our crew will erect a camp for you, prepare the tents and warm sleeping bags to give you a complete rest. After a proper recovery, another acclimatization hike to Kosovo Camp will follow. After going back to Barafu Camp, a hot dinner will be provided. The guide will advise you going sleep early and taking in Diamox and other pills if necessary. They will reduce the unpleasant symptoms of high altitude sickness. Try to drink much water and rest more. Always remember that acclimatization is the best with minimal physical activity.
At night, the team leaves Barafu Camp (4673 m) and starts conquering Uhuru Peak (5895 m). Technically, this leg of your journey is not difficult, but high altitude is really a challenge. A guide will accompany each couple of the climbers. He will monitor your stamina and fortitude. Once Uhuru is successfully conquered, the group may descend to the glacier if state of health is satisfactory.
Then, the group will go down to Barafu Camp. After a two hours rest, you will continue descending to Millennium Camp (3750 m).
Important note:
Do not forget that 90% of all accidents (broken hands, legs, fractures and strains) befall on the way down. Legs and feet are the most vulnerable areas (especially toenails).
The camp is located amidst the dense tropical forest. Waking up in the morning, satisfied with your accomplishment, you will feel great relief because of lowering altitude. Our cooks will offer you a warm breakfast, and you will start going down to the exit from the National Park – Mweka Gate (1640 m). Then, the team will salute and congratulate you. You will have an opportunity to leave your memories in the Mountain Kilimanjaro guestbook.
We will present you Kilimanjaro Climbing certificates in our office and then transfer you to Aishi Machame Hotel.
Rest at Aishi Machame Hotel. Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Important note:
Hotel checkout is at 11 AM. In the event of necessity (e.g. your flight is scheduled for evening time) you can prolong your stay for extra payment (charged by the hotel).

This tour provider hits it out of the park on the big wins: safety, logistics, and expertise. Their guides conducted twice daily health checks, measuring blood oxygen to ensure we were acclimating appropriately and they had medication ready to cover any malady. On summit day they carried oxygen as a safety measure that I found necessary after experiencing altitude sickness and the team even provided it to another suffering climber whose guides were not carrying oxygen. Not all guide services have these safety measures! The logistics flow was impressive from the get-go with airport and hotel shuttles. The camp logistics on-mountain was even more so. We’d depart camp after breakfast, they’d have tea and snacks set up along the trail, and we’d arrive at lunch to find the mess tent already set up with lunch ready, just to find it and our sleeping tents set up again at the end of the hike with tea and popcorn waiting and dinner shortly to follow. The consideration that the Porter team put into our comfort was overwhelming. The expertise of the team was unquestionable. The company clearly takes hiring very seriously and recruits knowledgeable guides. Professionals across the board whom we greatly trusted. With the big wins checked off in style, the company goes above and beyond with personal touches that make the trip truly memorable. I think the most memorable for us was the tradition and ceremony that the team brought to the experience - celebratory group singing and dancing especially, even cakes and champagne! Then small things like hot water bottles to keep sleeping bags warm really made us feel well cared for.
Fantastic experience - great company and they made sure we were well looked after!
I signed up solo for Kili hike with this tour operator. I had the best experience ever. They take care of you and support you based on your ability. You are observed carefully from Day 1, your health and ability are tracked and you are matched with the guides to be able to successfully make it to the summit. It has been nothing short of a breathtaking experience and I personally learnt a lot from how they organize themselves and how they take care of every small thing. Our chief guide was Baraka and he is simply amazing! Very professional, friendly and highly experienced. All other guides were amazing too, Eric, Exaude, Julius, Rama and others.Food was amazing! Justin and Azzez did a great job as our cooks and they are simply great people who take into account all your dietary needs. Could not have finished the hike without the support of porters and campmasters. A suggestion would be to pay for a portable toilet to share and that helps a lot during the hike. There was not a single time that I felt low or as if support was lacking. All the guides are warm and friendly and they can understand a person very well. My guide carried a small bottle of coca-cola for me during summit day and gave it to me at the stella point for sugar needed. They are as thoughtful as this. They are very keen on everyone being successful and happy.
My experience with this travel company was great. From the start communication was so easy and lightning fast. Anna answered all my questions about the climb and gear very quickly. The hotel base was very nice. My driver was waiting to pick me up from airport. The eqipment I rented was top notch. The guides were experts and very friendly. Same for porters. Food and water was plentiful . Medical checks twice a day. Transport to and from the mountain was good.Price was nice. Would highly recommend this company
