Dedicated team, high success probability 7day Lemosho

1) Airport pick up from Mount Kilimanjaro airport to moshi: excellent and on time. Eli is a safe driver. 2) 7day Lemosho route: guide, Good Luck, was professional and caring. Helped checked luggage pre-trek to ensure I have all equipment and clothing, potential risk assessment for the hike. Most importantly he helped me to reach the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro successfully despite being 4 hours later than everyone due to my slow speed. 3) Team: one guide, one chef, (Amos), one waiter (David). These were the main people who spoke to me. Great English. 4 porters who helped me as I was walking like a snail and had some slight toe injuries. Full team was very attentive to my needs and preferences of food, comfort level, questions about anything about Mount Kilimanjaro. Very friendly and patient crew.

Excellent

Such a phenomenal trip. The experience itself of being on Safari was unlike any trip I've ever taken. Joe and Ernest really made the trip special with the effort the put in and the results they delivered. Amazing accommodations that made it easy to rest and enjoy our downtime and included spectacular meals along the way. All-in-all, a trip I'll never forget and would highly recommend to anyone I know.

Safe, Seamless and spectacular

I recently completed the 7-day Lemosho Route hike to Mount Kilimanjaro, and the experience far exceeded my expectations—especially in terms of safety, professionalism, and overall organization. From the moment we began the trek, the crew’s attention to safety was clear. Our guides were exceptionally well-trained and experienced, conducting daily health checks that included monitoring oxygen levels and asking detailed questions about how we felt. They were incredibly proactive in spotting early signs of altitude sickness and adjusted the pace and rest stops accordingly. This gave our entire group the confidence and peace of mind to fully enjoy the journey. The Lemosho Route itself is both beautiful and well-paced for acclimatization. We walked through rainforest, crossed high moorland, and trekked over alpine desert—each day offering a new challenge and new scenery. Thanks to the route’s gradual ascent and the crew’s careful pacing, everyone in our group adapted well and reached the summit successfully. The support team—porters, chef, and camp staff—also played a huge role in keeping us safe and comfortable. Camps were set up promptly and securely, meals were warm, nutritious, and catered to our energy needs, and clean drinking water was always provided. Hygiene at camp was clearly a priority, and handwashing stations and daily sanitization made a big difference. On summit night, the guides ensured we were fully prepared both mentally and physically. Their encouragement, constant monitoring, and careful pacing made a very difficult climb feel achievable and safe. If you’re looking to hike Kilimanjaro and safety is a top concern, I highly recommend the Lemosho Route—and even more so, doing it with a professional, experienced team that prioritizes your health every step of the way. It was not just a successful summit, but a safe and unforgettable journey to the Roof of Africa.

Excellent

I would highly recommend this safari to anyone looking for a safari. We had wonderful places to stay and I'm glad we stayed two nights in each place. The staff in each place were so welcoming, the food was excellent. The safari guides were knowledgeable and shared their knowledge and went out of their way to find the best places to see the wildlife. Our CEO Joseph was fun and helpful and shared so much of his life and knowledge with us making it so memorable and enjoyable. Thank you!

Excellent

This was my first time on a G Adventures trip. I loved every day of it. Each day was unique and special. I know the size could have been larger, but 4 people plus Joseph and the driver was ideal. We were able to learn so much more by not having to have Joseph shared with a second land cruiser.

Excellent

I loved that our family of six had this adventure all to ourselves. It was a trip of a lifetime for our family. The trip exceeded our expectations and was outstanding. We were very fortunate to see so many animals which was amazing. We chose this trip for the number and variety of safari drives, but we also thoroughly enjoyed the cultural and educational aspects.

Tips for seniors traveling to Tanzania

Age range for senior tours in Tanzania

At Bookmundi, we consider senior travelers to be aged 60 and above. However, there is no strict upper or lower age limit. Our carefully curated senior tours are typically well-suited for travelers aged 50 and over who are looking for comfortable, enriching experiences. Several renowned operators featured on the page—including Destination Services and Indus Travel—offer senior-friendly tours. While the accepted age range may vary slightly by operator, most welcome mature travelers seeking relaxed itineraries, quality accommodations, and expert-guided cultural or wildlife experiences.

Recommended activities and destinations for seniors in Tanzania

Tanzania offers a wealth of senior-friendly experiences that blend relaxation, nature, and cultural exploration. Serengeti National Park is perfect for wildlife enthusiasts, with game drives offering front-row views of the Big Five from the comfort of a safari vehicle. The Ngorongoro Crater is another highlight, offering stunning landscapes with minimal physical strain. Seniors can enjoy beach relaxation in Zanzibar, known for its calm waters and historic Stone Town—though the latter has narrow streets and uneven paths, which may require good walking shoes or guided assistance. Mount Kilimanjaro is iconic, but climbing it is not recommended for seniors; instead, enjoy scenic views from nearby lodges or opt for nature walks at its base. For a broader view of top things to do in Tanzania and the must-see places in Tanzania, don’t miss our detailed guides.

Best time for seniors to travel to Tanzania

The ideal time for seniors to visit Tanzania is during the dry seasons—June to October and January to February—when the weather is cooler and wildlife viewing is at its best. These periods also offer better road conditions and lower humidity, making travel more comfortable. To learn more about seasonal weather patterns, visit our guide on when to travel to Tanzania.
