My husband and I decided to climb Kilimanjaro as part of our honeymoon trip to Tanzania. Our tour operator was absolutely brilliant from the word go! Our team, and especially our guides, Rashid and Osmani, went above and beyond to help us reach the summit. They were so friendly, professional and every detail was taken care of - including providing hot water bottles for our sleeping bags in the cold nights. Our guides were only too happy to show us extra insight about the mountain, as well as teaching us some Swahili! We couldn't have made it to the summit without their help and support. All 7 members of the team (porters,chef, waiter, guides) were keen to meet us and even performed a song for us, which was really moving. Although we spent less time with the porters and chef team, when we did see them they were always smiling and keen to talk to us, and did all their tasks with enthusiasm. The level of customer service we experienced was outstanding and we cant think of anything that could have been improved. We will have amazing memories of this trip, thank you so much!! Travel with this tour operator was wonderful. All was good from the beginning until the end. During the preparation of my Kilimanjaro trip I got in contact with several agencies and finally I have chosen this company and Im just happy because I feel I made the correct choice.This 6 days climbing Kilimanjaro Experience by Marangu Route was just a life time experienceIt all was good. All the crew was professional, making medical check-ups twice a day, good food, nice and friendly staff, hot water bag for the cold nights, excellent service and mainly friendly staff talking with us all the way long JA special thank you to our amazing guides Victor and Selemon and without any exception to all members of the crew. Also to Anna, from the Office, that was really helpful and kind. Cheers
Transfers, attentiveness, professionalism, consistency...you name it, this company checks off every box. I ( and the other 15 members of our group) were constantly raving of our guides, chefs and porters. They honestly made our climb seem like a 5 star experience on a mountain. From the minute we woke, until we closed our eyes at night, everything was done with consistency and professionalism. The food was different every single day (and so yummy!), our camp sites were always ready for us when we arrived, medical checks were done twice a day, and so much more. Oh, we had hot water-bottle-bunnies given to us each night at bedtime to put in our sleeping bags to keep us warm. Just one more thing we became accustomed to. We knew what to expect every single day due to their communication with us and the overall format they followed.There were many laughs and tears as well left the mountain. We grew close to these men and shared the ups and downs (literally) over the course of 7 days. They aided us in every way possible. They made us feel at home. They sang and danced (for us) and with us, we shared a New Year's cake with them that they carried up the mountain for us.
For our honeymoon, my wife and I decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and chose this tour operator.We couldn't have chosen any better.The team was extremely profesional: 1 guide per person and 6 porters (including a cook). We were taken care of with a lot of attention, the team treated us really well (including hot water bags before sleeping for the cold, a gentle a nice touch we were not seeing with the other groups). We had medical checks twice per day.We couldn't make it to the summit without the help and care of the guides, Stanley and Rodgers.In the hotel where we stayed before and after the climbing, we had good briefings.Also, they offer equipment for rent needed for the climbing, if needed: this were of high quality brands.We highly recommend, they were awesome!!!!!!
I traveled with this tour operator for the second time. My first visit to the National Parks was in October 2020. There we met the managers of the company, and I noticed how prepared in travel management they were. They offered me to summit Mt.Kilimanjaro and I was immediately hooked on it.Though I have never been over 3000 m, I came home thinking over it and eventually booked a 7-day hike. At home, I spent a lot of time training for the climb. The guys met me, took to the hotel and prepared the missing equipment. I had a day of relax and then we started. There were seven people in our group: two Chines, two American and three Russian travelers. Climbing has passed on hurray and the organization on the top rating. Everything was perfect. We caught many picturesque vistas and experienced indelible emotions. I recommend everyone to climb Kili!
Dreaming of standing atop Africa’s highest peak? The 7-day Mt. Kilimanjaro tour via the Marangu route offers a dynamic trekking adventure, recommended particularly for young adults and seasoned travelers seeking both comfort and challenge. Unlike other Kilimanjaro climbs, the Marangu route features hut accommodations with bunk beds, allowing trekkers respite from the elements and reducing logistical costs. The trail unfolds from the lush rainforest at 1,860 meters, winding through every Tanzanian climate zone—from tropical woodlands to the icy slopes of Kibo Glacier. Notably, this trek is the only one on Kilimanjaro that combines affordability with a solid chance of reaching the summit. A key highlight of this tour package is the opportunity to experience the full spectrum of Kilimanjaro's breathtaking landscapes while resting each night in huts rather than tents, making it a distinctive and cost-effective choice for adventurers who appreciate a touch of comfort with their high-altitude journey.
The group arrives at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Our representative will meet you and transfer to Aishi Machame Hotel.
Our manager will visit you in the evening, bringing a printed, signed and sealed agreement. He will give you a brief trekking orientation and check your equipment.
Important info:
The hotel price includes breakfast only.
Hotel check-in starts at 2 PM.
Our guides and climbing crew will come to the hotel. You will have the transfer to the Eastern entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park – Marangu Gate (1843 m). After the guides arrange park permits and register the crew with the emergency service, the group will start trekking to Mandara Hut (2700 m). The first leg of the route lies through the tropical forest. The chances of a torrential rain are high. We recommend taking not only a change of clothes, but also raincoats (or waterproof ponchos).
The crew will arrange the camp long before your arrival and the cooks will serve a lunch.
This route is known for the huts built along all the way. They are very unpretentious. At the same, they are a nice alternative for those, who do not want to sleep in the tents.
It will be your first day on such elevation. We highly recommend you following these simple instructions:
• Reduce caffeine consumption;
• Drink 4 liters (or more) of water (you should better drink in small portions, but frequently);
• Once you find the symptoms of the high altitude sickness, intake of Diamox is advisable. Moreover, you can take the pill as a preventive measure at the beginning of the trekking. Please, consult your physician on the possible individual allergic reactions.
Acclimatization is more difficult at night because of respiratory activity decrease multiplied by high altitude. The chances of nausea and headache become high. Once you discover any symptoms of high altitude sickness, ask the guides for help.
Your group leaves Mandara Hut early in the morning and start trekking to the second high-altitude camp Horombo (3720 m). When you arrive at the camp, you will see two volcanos (Kibo and Mawenzi) simultaneously.
After a couple of hours, you will have an additional acclimatization hike up to 200 m towards Barafu and go back to the camp, where you will have dinner.
Important note:
Acclimatization hike is an easy trekking up to some minor altitudes. Please, kindly note, that these acclimatization hikes are very important in order to reach Uhuru Peak successfully and will help you to prevent AMS (acute mountain sickness).
You will trek to Kibo summit camp (4700 m) immediately after the breakfast. This trekking is not difficult, but choosing a proper pace is important to spare your strength before summiting. The cooks will have made a lunch before your arrival. We recommend resting, avoiding physical exertions and drinking much water.
You leave Kibo Hut (4700 m) at night and start climbing the top of Kilimanjaro – Uhuru Peak (5895 m). Summiting will be modestly challenging, but the altitude is a huge concern. The Chief Guide will assign a personal guide for each couple of the climbers. He will be continually monitoring your stamina and fortitude (if summiting is successful, you will have an opportunity to visit a glacier). Then, you will go down to Kibo Hut. After 2 hours rest, there the group will keep on descending to Horombo Hut (3720 m).
Important note:
Do not forget that the 90% of all accidents (broken hands, legs, fractures and strains) befall on the way down. Legs and feet are the most vulnerable areas (especially toenails).
Warm breakfast and the team goes down by the familiar route. Passing through Mandara Hut, you will finish your trekking at Marangu Gate (1843 m). The team will salute you and congratulate with your accomplishment. You may share your impressions and memories and the guestbook. Then, (in our office) we will award you with the climbing certificates and transfer to Aishi Machame Hotel.
Rest at Aishi Machame Hotel and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Important note:
Hotel check-out is at 11:00. In the event of necessity (e.g. your flight is scheduled for evening time) you can prolong your stay for extra payment (charged by the hotel).
