The trek starts from the heath and moorland at 3,400 m, passes through alpine meadow, and finishes in the Arctic zone with the Peak Uhuru. Great itinerary for both countries. The guide/drivers are only one and were very knowledgeable in both countries. Both were open for questions and they did everything they could to make sure we were seeing as many animals as possible during the safaris. We were able to see the big Five in both countries and much more.

Very impressive trip except for the terrible public roads in Kenya and the worse park roads in both countries. It was so rough that one of our group measured 110 minutes of physical exercise on her watch from simply driving in the vehicle. Lodges were great with good food but got sick, probably because of the water. People were friendly, guides very good, especially in Kenya.

Kilimanjaro summit day is not heroic, It's ugly, slow, cold, uncomfortable, and deeply mental. probably the hardest day of my life. but definitely an unforgettable experience. everything was organized at the highest level, all three guides and porters are real heroes. the descent itself was real torture, there was little time to recover. If you have already come to Arusha then definitely go on a safari
