After a day spent acclimatizing in the majestic Atlas Mountains—with a cozy stay in a local guesthouse and authentic homemade meals—you’ll set out for the summit of Toubkal. While the climb is non-technical, it requires the use of crampons and ice-axes, rewarding your efforts with panoramic views over the Atlas range and the distant Sahara.

An optional ascent of a neighboring peak adds flexibility for those eager for more. The adventure wraps up with a guided tour of Marrakech, including its iconic monuments and bustling souks.

day 1 - Marrakech

Arrive at Marrakech airport, transfer to Riad or hotel in Marrakech. If you have time, explore the Medina.

day 2 - Marrakech - Ait Souka

Transport from Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains. Arrive in Ait Souka, where we begin the trek. We will spend some time acclimatizing around the Berber villages and valley and hike over to Tizi Mzzik at 2500m. Back to Ait Souka for a night in a local house.

day 3 - Ait Souka - Toubkal Refuge

Today is a 5-hour trek to the Toubkal Refuge, passing by Shamharouch. Today we will also fix all our winter equipment to be ready for the ascent. Spend a night at the Refuge.

day 4 - Climb Toubkal Peak 4167m

Today is an early morning start from the refuge to the get to the highest peak in North Africa at 4167 meters, with a great view over the whole Atlas and desert. We will walk using crampons and ice axes. After the ascent, we descend to the refuge for a nice hot shower and a hot meal prepared by our cook.

day 5 - Mt Ouankrim peak climb

Today we will climb another high peak called Ouankrim, at 4080m, which allows us another nice view over the Atlas chain.

This is lower Than Toubkal and the guide here will discuss options with you regarding doing this or another peak; Tizi Ouannoums, Ouaggan, or similar peaks. Back to the refuge.

day 6 - Toubkal Refuge - Ait Souka

Easy walk back to Ait Souka where we enjoy a special dinner after completing the ascent of the mountains. We'll also stay in a nice guest house with private ensuite rooms .

day 7 - Ait Souka - Marrakech

Free morning in Imlil and then drive back to Marrakech for a free afternoon to explore more of the City. The hammam is a good idea after this long and challenging trek!
