Our tour leader, Hassan, was excellent. He anticipated our needs. He also responded to occasion unrealistic requests by clients calmly and with diplomacy. He is a charming, funny, knowledgeable, professional tour leader.

A wonderful way to see Morocco, visiting many of the major cities (not Tangier) and travelling through High Atlas and into desert. Our tour leader Mohammed was very good, informative and well organised and we had a lovely group of like minded people. Transport was mostly by a comfortable bus with an excellent driver (Khalid) as well as a brief trip by 4WD vehicle and then by camel. Highlights for us included a visit to a Berber house, the medina at Fes, the Todra Gorge walk and the camel ride. Accommodation is functional rather than characterful with a couple of exceptions. If accommodation is important to you maybe consider one of Explore’s upgraded trips. It was perfectly fine though. Overall highly recommended.

As per previous reviews there is a lot of time spent travelling in the minibus so be prepared for this. This is necessary as some of the terrain is unsuitable for cycling. A g ood mix of cycling in the mountains and more flat terrain. Experiencing rural Morocco and people going about their every day lives was lovely. Have an overnight bag for the desert as main luggage stays put. Overall, a great holiday and highly recommended

Excellent tour of highlights of Morocco. Full-on and fast-paced, as we knew. Loved all the cities, mountains, desert, coast, history, culture, food, people......covered so much ground. Great trip leader and driver.

The tour was varied, and well structured. The tour leader was exceptional, knowledgeable and organised and easy going. There were a couple of long bus drives, but this is to be expected travelling in such a large country if you want to see things. However, the journeys were broken up with interesting things to stop and visit.

The holiday was great, our guides led by Hicham were caring, thoughtful and well organised, making sure we had everything we needed. Most of the time the mini buses were driving along nearby so most of our things could be left on the bus (non cycling clothes for the day etc) so it is useful to bring a small bag to have on the bike as well as a backpack to leave on the bus/use as your overnight bag for the camping in Sahara. Small bags were available to borrow for the bikes but some people found the zips on them didn’t work, so I’d recommend bringing your own if you can. The bikes were great, hard tail mountain bikes that suited the slightly rough roads and tracks we were cycling on. The cycling was often flat or downhill, a few people in the group were nervous about the day with a lot of ascent but everyone completed it. There is a lot of time in the mini buses (2-3 hours a day) but otherwise you wouldn’t see as much of the country. Hicham would organise a coffee stop most times we had a long journey and got to know our orders by the end of the trip! The desert is a real highlight (and why you travel so much each day!) the “camping” is more like glamping with a full double bed each and a flushing toilet and we even had hot showers. The food was good throughout, the hotels were clean and I liked that they all felt independently run. Overall, a very good cycling trip to a country I’d never been to before!
