day 1Join trip in Malaga

Arrive in Malaga, one of the main port cities in Andalucia. There are no activities planned today, so you're free to arrive in Malaga at any time. If you'd like an airport transfer today, you'll need to arrive into Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP). Our tour leader plans to meet you in the hotel reception at 7pm for a welcome meeting and for those that wish, there is the chance to go out for dinner. If you miss the meeting, the tour leader will inform you of any essential information as soon as you catch up. If your flight arrives earlier in the day, there is plenty to see in the attractive downtown of Malaga, much of which is pedestrianised. The Picasso Museum is worth a visit, the collection represents his entire life's work and is housed in the 16th-century Buenavista Palace.

Lidia was excellent. She was smart, good natured, well informed. 9 days was not enough time for this itinerary. The way transit worked out, we had only an afternoon each In Cordoba and in Malaga. There should have been a minimum of two nights at each city, giving us a full day.

A very interesting tour with excellent leader and comfortable accommodation. The group was small (12 people) and of similar energy & expectation levels.

This was our 8th tour with Explore and as always we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. It introduced us to Andalucia in a very compact package that rewarded us with many memorable excursions, that gave us a good overview of the region and previously unheard of cities (Ronda). Our guide Lidia was wonderful, very well organised and she always ensured we all knew when and where we needed too be and it worked. We had the company of a great group which always helps and everyone worked well together. If there are any downsides then perhaps an extra day in Cordaba even the inclusion of Cadiz would have added to the adventure but I guess that affects pricing and time so you can't have it all. This has been a great trip and I would thoroughly recommend it

Excellent trip overall. Using Explore enabled us to see a lot of interesting places in a relatively short time without dealing with any of the travel logistics, tickets, hotel booking that we'd have had to do if we'd gone independently. The hotels are quite mixed - some excellent, others less so but all had great central locations. Our tour leader was good. She was very organised, easy to get along with and helped to create a harmonious group which added to how much we enjoyed this trip.

The Explore leader was very good at involving everyone on the trip so we enjoyed having dinner together each night. She was superb at giving local recommendations of typical Andalusian dishes to eat. She was highly organised in a very friendly way. The trip had an excellent itinerary
