day 1Join trip in Hanoi
Arrive in Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, famous for its rich culture, bustling life and colonial influences. Its small lakes, busy streets and secluded alleyways are all waiting to be explored. For those arriving on time, our tour leader plans to meet you in the hotel reception at 5pm for the welcome meeting and for those that wish, there is the chance to go out for dinner. There are no other activities planned today, so you're free to arrive in Hanoi at any time. If you'd like an airport transfer, you'll need to arrive into Noi Bai International Airport (HAN), which is a 45-minute drive to the hotel. Should you miss the welcome meeting, our tour leader will leave a note at the hotel reception to inform you of any essential information. If your flight arrives earlier in the day, you might like to walk around the peaceful shores of Hoan Kiem Lake.

Excellent trip, we could not have seen more or been better taken care of. It’s my 5th Explore trip & all have been excellent.
Our tour guide Long was fantastic, he went out of his way to make sure we were all happy.
Excellent tour leader, very knowledgeable and positive. Overall a fabulous trip. Very busy itinerary. Perhaps a little too packed and would benefit from paring back and allowing some down time. Excursions from cruise could be avoided as unnecessary and not particularly good. Better quality transport would be preferable. Hotel in phnom Penn a little basic and cramped.
Well organised holiday with comfortable hotels, a great host and a lovely group. Only minor gripe was the overnight train, as I found the bed hard and the air conditioning cold. That was my 4th Explore holiday and I have booked another in September
