It was just the right length. 2stops in each place was great. A nice balance of structure and free time
Great travel coordinator
Not a trip for those who like to kick back and relax ………. Definitely 100% the perfect trip to be up and out early every morning, with everything planned and organized for you; max’ing out on a wide swath of Eastern Europe hitting all the highlights and tourist attractions while also providing choice and options, and allocating ‘free-time’ for one to “do their own thing”.
The itinerary was very good and we were on schedule everyday
Busy itinerary but covered all the places I wanted to see
This tour was living history. I saw things and visited places I never thought I would see. What a great experience. A little bit of a lot of places.
For me and my family, it was perfect to see these cities that are eastward in Europe. Two nights in each city was exactly right for us because we love to walk and walk and were able to see everything we wanted to see in that time.
This tour, if you included the extras, was jampacked with activity sites and experiences. There was an enormous amount of history, especially 16th century and 19th century European history, as some of these countries changed in stature. In counterpoint to this where it was the information we received about modern day Germany and Poland and the particular understanding we came to about those countries. There was much less emphasis/explanation on modern day Hungary and I wondered if this was a political decision, possibly, given the current regime. An enjoyable tour that we recommend..
Overall the standard was quite good for the price. One hotel room did not have functioning air conditioning which was uncomfortable.
The itinerary was thoughtfully organized and maintained a suitable pace throughout the trip. However, it would be beneficial to allocate an additional day in Krakow, as there is a wealth of attractions and activities to explore. More time should be dedicated to visiting Auschwitz and its surroundings, as the current schedule felt somewhat rushed, particularly regarding the opportunity to fully experience Auschwitz II after the brief tour of the barracks.
Itinerary was good. We had an amazing Tour Director that would organise private tours or get us in early before it got too busy or noisy. Excellent service provided.
To many optionals and some of the hotels were to far from the center of the city
The good: Tour Director, Driver(s) and coach were great The bad: Quality of the Hotels is low, especially lack of (working) airconditioning and cheap quality mattresses - mostly ibis chains, mostly out of the away.. Meals: included meals - poor, 1 alternative dessert was an apple... Not even cut up, the rest of us got a plug the size of your thumb of cheesecake, slither of orange, a quarter of a small strawberry, a square of chocolate cake the size of a 2 euro coin Optional meals were reasonable good, but worth the price 🤷♂️
The coach, itinerary, and tour director were great these were probably 5 star worthy. We knew that a budget trip wouldn't include 5 star hotels. However we weren't prepared for the hotels without working air conditioning. Please make a change to the hotel(s) without air or poorly working air. In one hotel we were given a fan to be used to circulate the air. I will have to say even our tour director warned us before we got to those hotels that this was going to be an issue. Please if you know its an issue solve the problem. The optional extra meals were fantastic. The included dinners were undesirable.
From intinerary well presented, the coach was brand new & the driver manuevers the coach safely to our destinations. Some hotels are below basic Europe summer was extremely hot and some hotels without airconditioning.Berlin hotels was the worst.
Itinerary was good, but a lot of the included was "look" and "see". The optional experiences were generally good.
Starting in Frankfurt- what is this about!!??? A hotel in the woods only to jump on a bus and spend 8 hours on the road to Berlin. This made zero sense!

This tour goes to some important cities filled with a lot of history. I enjoyed the old towns in all of the cities that we visited, especially Warsaw and Krakow. I was not sure if I would enjoy Berlin, but it was great and I enjoyed sightseeing there. Seeing Auschwitz was unforgettable and sobering. The optional dinners with the traditional foods and folk dancing in Poland and in Hungary were very good, filling, and entertaining. Rothenberg was a favorite place, as well as colorful Poznan. (It would have been nice to have about an hour more in each of these charming towns.) I really liked the optional outing to Szentendre and our free time there. While on the road, some of the places that we stopped for lunch were limited fast food, and one of the included dinners in Prague was not good. There is a lot of time on the bus with this tour, although that is to be expected when traveling from one major city to another. It was just more hours on the bus that we expected, sometimes almost the whole day. The best and most quiet hotel during the tour was the first (and last) one in Frankfurt near the airport. Several hotels are on busy streets, so it's noisy with traffic if the windows are open. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean everywhere we stayed. Tour was ran efficiently and always on time.
Please try and have more vegan options and reduce the number of optional tours or make them a little more cheaper .
I loved most of cities & countries the local guides were very knowledgeable. Excursions too expensive. If you don't buy excursion you are not getting a good food or sight seeing since you choose not to go. There should be a system for people who are not participating in Excursions. I understand you make money from Excursions but you need to do better with hotels that are closer to city centre. Everyone I talked to felt the same.you are on your own ,in a storage country. Not good
If you book everything you will be busy every day so if that's what you want then it's perfect. But for those of us who need a bit more down time, or just have things of their own they want to do, it would have been helpful to know in advance approx. when each event would start and how long it would take to help plan our days. (Timings were only given out on arrival at each new city). Most days were planned well except the day in Prague which had everyone out from 8.30 till 3.30 whether you went on the optional lunch cruise or not. Given the average age of our group was about 60+, this was just too much - especially at the end of a very busy 2 weeks.
It was easy going for seniors but the hardship was porterage - none available . It was difficult for the seniors.
The options of (1) only participating in the included activities and "doing your own thing" or (2) taking in all or a portion of the optional excursions is an excellent model
Increase the number of days, I felt we always needed an extra day, given we spent lots of time traveling in the bus.
We are mainly independent travellers and like our own time to explore new places. For something different, we thought we would try a tour, "Highlights of Bohemia". We were a bit apprehensive as we do like our free time. We were quite surprised to find that there is a bit of free time on this Costsaver Tour. There are also Optional Extras to choose from if you wish to do so. If you do not choose, that means extra free time. We did take advantage of some Optional Tours. If we were travelling independently, we would not have been able to experience these Optionals.
Our itinerary was so well planned of every country we visited. Our motel were comfortable and clean.Mr was like a walking Mr Google.Full of knowledge and humour. He made our trip exciting and fun.🤩
Well with the effort to make the world trip. The people on the trip were great, a it’s a chance of a lifetime.
The itinerary which includes world renowned cities was well laid out and paced. Although the “extra” excursions were somewhat overpriced. Room accommodation not bad for the price paid. Breakfast was fine to start a long day’s walk. Overall, a very interesting tour package that will leave very few unsatisfied.
This a very memorable tour we experienced! Our tour director was very knowledgeable an took care of every detail to ensure ALL the guest enjoy and have a very memorable journey. The hotel's locations, cleanliness, breakfast, I was impressed! The coach driver and safety, cleanliness. All of those things are what made our journey GREAT and an unforgettable one!
You will see a lot in a very short period of time. Coach seats were not very comfortable. No complaints on the hotels. Did not expect 5 star and they were all clean. Locations could have been better as all seemed to be on the far outskirts of the central area.
The trip was very good. The improvements that I would hope to see in the future are: 1) The hotels, especially in Berlin and Vienna were located next to train stations, which made it impossible to sleep at night. As there was little to no air conditioning, we were forced to keep the windows open. Due to the constant noise from the trains, it was impossible to sleep. In the other cities we visited the hotels were adequate. 2) Food. The breakfasts that were included with the package, were fantastic. The dinners included were less that desirable. Better choices should be make by Costsaver for included dinners.
Just if you are vegetarian or don't eat red meat the food can be a challenge.
The itinerary was well paced, the hotels were clean and located near restaurants, bars etc. The only downside was the coach, the seats were extremely uncomfortable.
