From the moment we were picked up to the moment we were dropped off it felt like we were in capable hands. We had plenty of time at each of the stops on tour and when we opted out of some optionals to go see something not on the tour, our tour leader helped us navigate those as well. Coach was very comfortable as were the hotels. Tour leader Lee was the BEST tour leader we could have ever asked for. He helped history come alive for us and was also hilarious! We definitely plan on taking another trip with expat and our only hope is to get Lee as a tour leader again. Until next time!
This tour exceeded expectations a million times over. Packed with interesting history, stunning views, and loads of forever memory making moments. Be prepared to fall in love with places, people, and cultures!
As a first time tour trip, I was blown away. Lee and Chris are incredible. Chris is a master driver and Lee is the most amazing storyteller and guide. We ended up just loving every day. The tour was seemless land we were able to relax and enjoy Scotland, Wales and Bath in particular.
We had the chance to explore all of GBTOUR and with our tour leader and driver our experience was beyond amazing! Chris drives like a champion driver and his courtesy is all England! Lee, you have a spirit and heart for leading tours. We feel in love with Scotland thanks to you! Your stories and history were amazing and beautiful. We will stay in touch and hope we can do another tour with you! Thank you both for a wonderful experience!
Highly recommended.
This was a fantastic tour, 10 out of 10 it hit all the highlights in a short amount of time Fantastic work Lee, thanks for all your hard work, and Chris too with your driving skills,
Every day was wonderful and an amazing trip worth every penny. Lee, our tour guide, was extremely friendly, helpful, and cheeky. He made us laugh a lot and helped me pick out a spot to propose to my future wife!
Short week but was able to cover so much! Having such a knowledgeable and passionate tour leader topped it all off! If you enjoy history and the authentic experience this tour is just that. Couldn't recommend this more!
Very personable and knowledgeable tour guide, food and accommodations were excellent, this trip was absolutely magical for me. It was my 40th birthday and I was engaged on this tour- our tour guide Lee and driver Chris helped to orchestrate the special surprise engagement with my fiance! Such a wonderful crew!!
Thanks to Lee for his extensive knowledge on the United Kingdom. We learned new things that only a local person would know, and we laughed at the stories as you broadened our perspective.. You have such a great heart. All the great memories will be a blessing. Thank you to all the travellers who also enlightened our experiences. Our driver, Chris, is top-notch and always had our safety in mind. Such a great guy.
Had a super amazing experience. Our tour leader, Mike Thoms, was very knowledgeable, upbeat, organized and looked after our group thoroughly. Our coach driver, Russell, ensured we had a smooth and safe experience. It was a very enjoyable and memorable experience. Will travel again with Expat Explore.
Just simply amazing
Excellent tour. The tour guide Peter M. Was very knowledgeable, compassionate, professional and patient. Our driver, Minty rock.
I really enjoyed this Tour around GB. I had the Best Tour Leader Pauline and Driver Craig, they were so helpful and keep us inform with the history of where we were going. A great tour.
Thanks to Pauline we all had a wonderful time exploring the UK.
Well organized trip with a great Tour guide!! Best way to see loads of sights in a very short period of time.
Well structured and organised.
We had such a wonderful experience on our Great Britain tour with Pete and Tony. We saw real Bucket List items around England and Scotland. So much in seven days! Great full breakfasts.
I enjoyed every minute of the tour. It was a great experience with Peter W and Minty traveling all over the UK. I would definitely recommend Expat to my friends and family. Will definitely be booking another trip soon. Thank you for everything!
A lot covered in this fantastic tour as we expected. Early Starts are also what we expected but most days you don't arrive to your accommodation until 6:30-7:00pm, then you are given 30minutes to prepare for dinner. Free time could be up to 3hrs in certain stops, something that could be reduce, allowing time out at the hotel for a little R & R. If your looking at doing extra activities offered, bring cash as card payment is not an option. You will be told to change seats. For couples expect to be sleeping in single beds.
Loads to experience, but full-on, so ensure you're in good shape
Starting with the positive, we very much enjoyed having Lee Carrick as our tour guide. His enthusiasm, good humor and wealth of knowledge made the trip enjoyable. A shout out as well to Tone for being a skilled bus driver in demanding circumstances. We saw a lot in a short amount of time. A group tour will always be a mixed experience. Be prepared to spend the week with a group of strangers, long bus rides and uneven lodging and restaurant venues.
Lee was a fabulous tour guide! He understood the area very well and let us know all the best spots to eat and drink. Were given lots of advice and options of alternatives to excursions. Tony drove our bus around some pretty tight areas in the older narrow streets. Thank you for a wonderful week of travel!
It was really an wonderful and amazing experience. The tour leader Mr. Peter Woodman was a fantastic leader that has done his best to satisfy all the wishes of travelers. The selection of places, attractions and locations to be visited were fantastic and in a very short time i.e 7 days you could visit almost the major part of GBTOUR, which you cannot do in ypour own for such price. The hotels selected by Eexpat Explorer were really good. The coach driver Tony was a very good driver, patient and also supportive for any question. We have been really lucky to choose Expat Explorer for visiting UK
Great choices of tour destination. Lee Carrick is the best, very organized, accommodating and friendly
Traveling up the north was excellent and very enjoyable. Stop-over selection was really nice. We enjoyed the first five days a lot. Last 2 days while traveling back was good but not very exciting. Overall it was a good experience!
Lee (tour lead) and Craig (driver) made a great team. Always supportive to the guests on board. They made us feel safe and comfortable. Lee especially went beyond expectations in resolving items left behind in hotel, even after tour finished. Their combined knowledge and recommendations were exceptional. Even in emergency situations, they were quick to act and showed compassion and empathy. If this is an example of Expat's team. I will definitely join another tour. Thanks Lee and Craig for making this a memorable special vacation.
This was my first time in an Expat tour and also first time by myself so it was a really wonderful and positive experience to have Lee as our leader and Craig as your safekeeper. Lee was aware of everyone and made sure that all of us felt safe and comfortable in the bus, at the hotel or during the experiences. I'll gladly take another Expat tour.
I had a very good experience with this tour, guide and driver were top notch and I would travel with this company again.
Tour leader was friendly and fun. Coach driver was amazing. Sites were fantastic.
Guide and driver were the best! Excellent tour and fun interesting people aboard.
I have always wanted to visit the UK and my dreams of doing so became reality! The countryside of Scotland and England were everything I hoped they would be and more. Our tour was so much fun and Craig, Lee and the other tour mates just made it that much better! Would highly recommend this tour!
Everything was so great. Lee the tour leader was fun, funny, and very informative. Craig our driver was an amazing driver and was also very informative and fun. We got to see and do so much. Well 100% be doing another tour with expact
Seven fun filled days with Pauline Butler and a bus of people from all over the world. Craig our driver was exceptional as was Pauline, I wish I could give them 6 stars!
Being our first bus tour ever, hands down the best experience I've ever experienced. The driver Craig is a master at what he does. Lee our tour guide made our experience so comfortable & with funny stories. Between the both of them they have certainly set the bar very high.
Includes all major attractions
Our tour was nothing short of exciting and wonderful. I loved exploring history having a well rounded, knowledgeable tour guide by my side. Lee & Craig showed a genuine caring & understanding for our wants and needs; I am extremely satisfied with how the last week went. Through ups & downs they kept us positive & motivated. I would definitely recommend this trip to future tourists, friends & family!
This is our 3 rd tour with these guys, all in Europe. The time is well planned out and packed with highlites. Good optional tours if you choose also. Our guide Pauline and driver Craig were excellent, professional and very personable and laid back. Will book with them again.
The tour was a nice sampling of England, Scotland, and Wales. Information was given in advance so decisions could be made about optional excursions, and follow up each day. It was fast paced but that was expected.
The tour was wonderful from the first to the last minute. The driver and guide are professionals. Great food, good hotels. Excellent excursion program. The ratio of price and expected quality is absolutely perfect!
First time on a tour, it was a great experience
This was such a great trip! With our wonderful tour leader Jemma, our amazing coach driver Tony and the great group onboard, this week exceeded my expectations regarding group travel in general and bus tours in particular. Accommodation and meals were above average.
So much to see.
We really enjoyed our trip!
What was GREAT: If you want to travel and see lots of interesting places in a short amount of time and are on a budget; then this is the tour for you. Our guide was informative, upbeat, and helpful. The driver did a great job and the food provided was delicious and plentiful. There were many interesting people on the tour from a variety of places and they were pleasant and good-natured. We had lots of fun surprises along the way; such as the bag-piper at the border of Scotland.
We had booked this tour in 2019 for a June 2020 date. Obviously that didn't happen and we rescheduled (a couple of times) and were so thrilled to finally go. Our guide Mike and driver Russell were wonderful. Clearly very knowledgeable and professional. The tour is really fast paced and I would honestly opt to shorten stops or cut stops in some places to make it to the major places early/stay longer. It felt like we got into each major stop after 6-7pm when most things were closed and then we left at 6:30am. It's a lot to jam into a week so I can appreciate the schedule. It just left us wanting to stay in some places! Overall love expat, love the job that everyone involved does.
I initially booked this trip in 2019 & then Covid hit. Once restrictions started to ease, I decided to book this trip again. It was a great decision because it was a great introduction trip to the UK. On the 1st day of the tour, we hit the ground running and it felt non-stop. There was a lot to see and do, and to be honest, I was tired at the end of the trip but it was a great experience. My favorite stop was at Scotland, and I hope to visit there again in the future. Take advantage of the free time you have there to walk around, see the sites, & take pictures. The landscape is beautiful and be careful when you walk on cobblestone because it can get slippery. It was an unforgettable trip. I also have to give big thanks to our knowledgeable and awesome ball of energy tour guide, Peter, and our excellent driver, Craig, who safely got us to our destinations on time!
Everything was great! Mike was our tour guide and Paul was our driver- really, we could not have gotten better people! Everything was so wonderfully planned, and Mike is so knowledgeable- the dates, times and names just roll off his tongue. You would think he was reading from a script, but he wasn't he just really knows the history and makes to stories come alive. I should have recorded his talks everyday- there was so much information. Paul took us to the most amazing sights; he is such a great driver. The whole trip I was just checking things off my bucket list and adding a few more to check off. I really cannot wait to book another tour. I would like to request Mike and Paul again! Everything was so wonderful. Mike was so helpful in making sure we got to places to exchange our money. Mike and Paul really made my first time in Great Britian one I will never forget and I can't wait to come back too!
We had an absolutely amazing tour with Mike Thoms (tour leader) and Paul (chauffeur). They made our tour an absolute pleasure. The locations we visited were wonderful and mike is a very intelligent and knowledgeable. That made our trip so very fulfilling. They definitely worked hard for their tips- well worth the money. Some of the hotels were not very comfortable but I understand that better hotels would increase the overall cost of the tour.
We truly have a magnificent vacation touring Great Britain. Our amazing Tour Leader Mike was one of the most organized tour leader by far! He made us feel like a family. Our talented experienced Tour Driver Paul was truly helpful and fun as well! We will definitely do another Tour with Expat..this is our third time..cheers for more!
Was good
This was an amazing trip for us. Mike's knowledge and experience are evident. I would have preferred a smaller group. Some members of my group could not keep track of time to save their lives. But all in all a well organized trip.
We had mike & russell as our driver. Mike was a fantastic tour leader, so much knowledge , history, a great sence of humor , organized and informative, russell was an amazing driver. Done a great job everywhere. Very busy tour , lots to see and do, i think if we had 2 days touring in the highlands would be better as it ends up being a 12+ hr day which is quite big . and do much to see. A couple of the dinners could be improved . mainly the 1st nights was the most disappointing. Mike made the journey great and loved the scotish boarder crossing , bag pipes in the rain drinking scotish whiskey and meeting hamish . loved the punting in cambridge, loch ness cruise & windermere tour and the scot tea . all great .
Had a wonderful time on this tour of Great Brirain Was so informative as well as a lot of fun. Saw so many amazing places and the scenery was spectacular
I'm am overwhelmed with gratitude for an incredible tour! Our tour guide, our bus driver and tour participants were just incredible!
I was a first time Expat Explorer traveler and so wasn't entirely sure what to expect. I am blown away by the experience. When Expat talks about creating a sense of family in the group they mean it. From the initial opportunity to connect with others in the group on Facebook to the last goodbyes it was amazing to see how the sense of family came together. So much of feeling has to be attributed to our tour leader, Peter, and driver, Craig, who helped everyone feel known and welcomed. They connected with all and looked for ways to make the experience unique and special for each of us. I loved getting to know people from all over the world as we shared this common experience and built connections. I am walking away not only with some wonderful new friends but also a boatload of new knowledge and understanding of GBTOUR. This is a whirlwind of a 7 days filled from morning to night with places to see and experience. Scotland was my favorite part of the trip and nothing could beat it being topped off with an incredible double rainbow over the Loch as we started one of our days in the highlands. My body is tired, my mind is spinning with new knowledge and my heart if full from my time this week. I can't wait to plan another trip and absolutely would look to Expat Explorer first!
This was an incredible week, Peter our guide was much more than that, he was part of our fabulous experience from beginning to end, he kept us organised, educated, involved and motivated. An unbelievablely knowledgeable and passionate person. Craig was our super driver and baggage handler and also a fabulous source of knowledge. Kind, friendly and and went out of his way for us all with extra stops in beautiful places for extra photos. Always went the extra mile for our group. It was an incredibly expansive tour, we saw beautiful places, did amazing activities. Learnt so much about England, Scotland and Wales. This tour was very inclusive and there was a fabulous diversity and acceptance throughout the group. The friendliness and enthusiasm was amazing.
We really enjoyed the stories knowledge and expertise about the places we visited, you did an excellent job ( Peter) making sure all of us have a wonderful time! I hope our paths will cross again on my next adventure. Thank you! Thank you so much to our bus driver ( Craig) for being a fantastic driver, you make sure that we are all safe and reached everywhere we want to go. God bless
We really enjoyed having Peter as our tour guide and Craig as our tour guide. They were both very knowledgeable, fun, and kind. The group was also excellent, we met some new friends, and everyone was punctual, which helped a lot with timing. The food was good, the optional excursions we chose were excellent, and when we didn't choose an optional, Peter and Craig both helped us with ideas for our free time. It was overall wonderful experience, and we would definitely recommend it. We would love to take another tour with both Peter and Craig.
The whole trip was so much fun, and our group was great. I had a great time, even if I am completely exhausted by the end of it.
The whole tour was amazing. Peter was OUTSTANDING, he was the reason this tour was a total success. Peter provide us with so much information about the places we visited, I am so happy he is so knowledgeable and likes to share his knowledge with such enthusiasm. Craig the driver, total gentleman who was so helpful getting us from place to place, and he always made us feel safe. We will do it all over again if we get the same team. Thank you Peter and Craig for making our tour UNBELIEVABLE AMAZING!!!
What a time we've had. We cannot thank our Tour Guide Pete and driver Craig enough for what we have just experienced. This was our 1st Coach Tour and what an awesome time we had. Pete encouraged us to act as a family and the concept of an Expat family should look like. He was the ultimate head of family that we all felt part of. His communication skills were amazing and he got to know each member of our group individually making us each feel special. His passion for what he does shone through particularly his love of Scotland. We learned so much from him about Great Britain and feel that he went way beyond his call of duty. Craig was also fantastic and was a wealth of knowledge too. Please pass on our thanks to both these men. Great to get to know the other tour passengers and share with people from other countries.
Your efforts don't go unnoticed — they're very inspiring and impactful. Thank you for the fun times and incredible memories. I will cherish them forever.
The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and kept a positive, upbeat vibe for the entire trip. He took the time to make sure everyone was cared for and comfortable at all times. I could not be more pleased with our experience with Expat!
Peter is an excellent tour guide. He is well organized, very informative, and helpful. Craig is a skillful bus driver and got to our destination safely.
Peter, you exceeded our expectations! We plan to explore Scotland again! Thank you! Craig, thank you for keeping us safe!
Everyone is so lovely and friendly. Peter was an energetic and organized tour leader and Craig was an amazing driver. We got to each location safely and on time. Each of the included meals were really good. We saw so many great sites too, which was awesome!
What an incredible experience, from beginning to end, our Expat tour guide Peter and driver Craig were so well organised and knowledgeable. Their passion for their country was genuine and openly shared. Everything ran like clockwork and we saw the most amazing places and shared such wonderful times. The whole experience was faultless. Other group members were friendly and inclusive, we had a super group of people! The sights and experiences were incredible. My Expat experience was way better than I could have possibly imagined.
A lot to see in a little time.. from Edinburgh to London and every thing in between. Our guide Mike provided his own humor along the way. A nice way to see a lot and get a taste of the UK. A bit of walking but that was expected and not overly done. Our coach driver Russell made sure we got everything on and off tne coach and worked patiently with little mishaps and slower tourist. Overall a great tour to see a bit in England, Scotland and Wales.
Join expat tours with moderate expectations and be pleasantly surprised.
Fantastic tour that takes you to some interesting locations! Lots of good information, great hotels and all meals provided where nice.
it was my first time to join expat explore tour and i enjoyed my experience with my friends and newly acquainted friends. I am used to arrange our itineraries everytime we travel, but i never regret in having my friends in exploring GBTOUR for 7 days with expat explore, especially special thanks to peter keron as our tour leader who take good care for our schedules everyday. He is so accomodating and has a lot of patience with our group. Thank you peter and job well done. Hope to have another tour with you.
We did the 7-day UK tour through England, Scotland, and Wales. It was great! You could not ask for a better guide and driver than Peter and Russel. They made the tour fun and safe.
Guide PETER was very kind, humble, friendly Had the best time Should mention about the captain RUSSEL he was safe and we had a smooth drive
It was a fantastic tour, delivering all it promised and more. Pete and Russell went above and beyond.
Thank you for our tour guide Peter Kerson for lovely journey and Russell our driver for the safe travel.
Fast paced amazing tour through history and geography under the leadership of an extremely well informed and informative guide with a perfect mix of instruction, wit, organization, planning, and inspiration … that really brought people together in an unforgettable adventure :)
Enjoyed the stops and lots of picture opportunities.
We had a great experience as a family. Our guide Peter was knowledgeable, helpful, funny and patient. Always coordinating everything and making sure we were all taken care off. We had Russell as our driver and man… Was he skilled! Very good team.
A packed week, but it is a well-rounded experience of all the UK has to offer. Prepare for group travel with early mornings, but you will equally experience way more than you could on a solo trip. A great tour guide makes the trip all the more enjoyable!
Excellent
This is our second tour with Expat Explore and we will definitely have many more! We had a wonderful time! Mike Thoms - our tour leader & the coach driver Ashley did a fantastic job. Thank you, Expat Explore!
I experienced wonderful places with an awesome tour leader Mike and a fabulous driver Ashley. The sites we visited were beautiful and interesting. Mike was interesting, informative, and extremely personable. I loved this tour & would certainly do it again with the same crew.
This tour was a great overview of all of the amazing parts of GBTOUR. It was great for me because it had everything I wanted to see in a short time.
It was amazing. Accomodations could be better
My wife and I used EE in 2019 and loved it so much that we immediately signed up for another tour. We were finally able to go this year and even brought my 73-year-old mother along. She absolutely loved the experience. Mike was great and she is even thinking about going on another tour with us.
Loved the country side the towns and villages The intensely was wonderful. Very very fast paced. The tour guide was very if not very over informative about history snd Royalty . So much information too much to digest. Our driver was wonderful friendly and helpful. The tour guide although a pleasant person was obviously not up to times with female equality and discrimination both gender sexuality body dysmorphias This is not our first expat tour We we were disappointed that even though the driver knew most of our names the tour leader knew almost none of our names referred to people as ( lady with the arm). Or the Spanish couple. even on day 5 asked passengers if they were on the correct tour coach !! His knowledge was amazing his recall and willingness to tell us about the people from by gone eras is memorable however I feel he could have put a little bit more into paying passengers. Would I personally do another Expat tour. No. But nothing against expat. I would not do another fast paced n Coach tour. But I loved the Uk snd I loved our previous EX 18 days which was May 16
Long days with plenty to see.
The tour was very fast paced. There was a lot to do in a little bit of time. Some places felt too long and others felt too short but I'm not really sure how to have changed that with all the places we needed to get to in the allotted time. There was a lot of history included from our guide about all the places we stopped. I would have liked some time in London since that's a well known part of GBTOUR, because we could have spent less time walking around York or even got there just a little later and still did the walking tour parts with the guide the first day. Overall, we are grateful for the experience. We got some amazing pictures and often commented about how it felt like we were on the Discovery channel. Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone who's up for a fast paced tour of a whole country. I also recommend doing all the optional excursions. The only one we didn't do was Shakespeare's birthplace house because we wanted to explore.
Excellent value for money, especially if you're travelling as a South African when the exchange rate is so poor! A very informative, well organized tour with our well informed tour leader, Mike and our awesome Coach driver, Tony! Highly recommended! Bev and Richard Leeflang, Cape Town, South Africa.
Very fast paced, early mornings and late nights. So many sights to see in a short period of time but the sights you do see are wonderful.
It is a typical bus tour where you get to see many highlights in a short amount of time. Throughout the travel there are walking tours, guided tours, driving tours and photo stops. There was free time to explore by ourselves and one could also choose from some optional tours. Mike (our tour guide) had a good sense of humour and made the tour that much more fun. Tone (our bus driver) brought us through even the most tightest place safely. The included food was amazing and the accommodations met my expectations. The coach itself has air conditioning and USB ports to charge you electric devices. Please do make sure to do your research on bus tours beforehand to make it easier on yourself. It is quite taxing but worth it.
Touring multiple cities in an Expat bus is a great way to learn a LOT about a country and its history in a short time and a great price. That's so important to make sense of today's world and probably why we had quite a few school teachers among us. ""Explore"" isn't just a clever marketing term, it's a promise fulfilled. Expat handles all the myriad travel, accommodation, and venue reservation details so you can focus on learning and enjoying every minute. And with that, you can't help but forge multiple, lasting friendships from people on every continent who share your interests. I cannot recommend Mike Thoms enough: if you see a place you might find interesting, and he's leading the tour, BOOK IT! His inquisitive mind and superb storytelling give you views into cultures over time that you *cannot* find in books or documentaries. He works like a dog to craft the best outcomes of any unavoidable complications, and he and the driver (we had a master!) were a cohesive team despite not having worked together before. On top of that, Mike is as personable, engaging, and humorous as they come, yet he also managed to get dozens of us from all over the world going each day – on time! –with every minute doing something meaningful, rewarding, and entertaining – including travel time in the bus. You won't find a better value for leisure travel – or professional development, if you're a teacher! If you aren't yet retired, take the time, even if it means attending a ""fake funeral"", and get out there to experience far-off places!
Best tour ever. Enjoyed it so much and made lots of new friends as well. Cannot wait for my next tour
Our tour guide, Mike, created a caring environment for all of us. His personal antecdotes and knowledge of the UK we're extremely engaging. Our driver, Tone, was phenomenal. He made driving a large coach look easy, although we know it's not
Our tour has been great. From the sights and food to the vast quantities of information. Our driver has been amazing as well. He's navigated us all over the countryside and through cities effortlessly. This has been an unforgettable experience.
We absolutely loved this tour and highly recommend. Our tour guide, Mike, made it extra special with his wealth of history knowledge, humor and story telling! Thanks Mike for a wonderful experience! Thanks Lee for being an amazing and safe driver... were all so impressed with your driving skills! This was our 2nd tour with Expat and enjoyed both very much! We are now looking into our next trip/tour with Expat.
I highly recommend Expat Explore's UK tour via coach. We got to see most of the UK with exception to London in 7 days. We benefited from our tour guide's vast knowledge of history and appreciation of the diverse cultures that make up the UK. There were some stops that I found redundant and could potentially be replaced, such as Gretna Green. However, the overall experience was amazing. Hotel rooms were small and breakfast was ok, but I prefer the small price of the overall tour rather than expensive hotel and food experiences. They were also very accommodating of our dietary choices.
Lots of walking and long days on the coach but worth it to see all the sights we saw in a short amount of time. Our driver Lee was fantastic and our tour guide Mike was fabulous and had a wealth of knowledge!
The tour was well planned and everything ran very smoothly. Mike our tour guide was very thoughtful regarding rest stops and lunches.
I enjoyed this tour for it's depth of history and beauty. Time was used very wisely in planning, coordination. It was a nice group of people again to travel with and the tour leader Mike made it fun. In a week's time it really does feel like family. Plus memories to last a lifetime. I don't know how they do it for the price. I couldn't have done it as cheaply on my own
Terrific tour leader, driver and fellow travellers.
It was informative and fun all together
This trip met all our expectations! Mike tried very hard to accommodate us all! Lee did a fantastic job of driving on some very difficult roads.
Our second week with Mike has been wonderful and you can really tell he is passionate about GBTOUR, especially Scotland. The places we go on the tour is picturesque. Some of the days are intense with early wake up calls or some walking can be a little tough if you have mobility issues. But, apart from that, it's been a great trip and enjoyed everything.
Mike was great. He really knows his history. So much history that I never knew about Scotland.
We loved all of the parts of this coach tour and the sites we saw. We definitely did more than if we had rented a car and driven the UK and heard way more facts and details about the places we visited. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
The tour was very well organized with lots of sightseeing. Mike , our tour leader was very efficient, knowledgeable and passionate about the area . He has a lot of energy ! We started each day with having our luggage on the bus at 6;20 , so our days were very long . Craig , our driver was amazing ! The roads were narrow , winding and scary! He stayed calm , cool and Collected and kept us safe ! The hotels and meals are excellent. The coach is comfortable. Each country is beautiful and there's so much to see . It's worthwhile to book most of the optional excursions. It was wonderful meeting and interacting with so many other travellers around the world .
Met a lot of nice people during the tour. Tour guide, Justin was super nice and a loud shout out to our driver, Ashley It was a great itinerary. It was what I expected and then some; I fell in love with Scotland, its breathtaking scenery and history. I'm a romantic at heart. It brought me back to my high-school days of reading historical (medieval) romances
The places we visited were the places we wanted to see in the UK. The included food was excellently planned, delicious and suit my taste buds. The bus driver was very polite and friendly. His driving skills was remarkable. The tour leader, Kevin, was very patient, soft-spoken and super nice. He was very sensitive to our needs and timed his announcements in the bus very well.
Wonderful experience.
There is a lot packed into this 7 day tour of the UK. Would recommend to anyone who wants a quick ""taste"" of the UK. Met many lovely people in our tour group. Fabulous driver, Ashley, went above and beyond each day to make our trip special.
Wonderful trip and tour guide. Met so many great people on this tour and saw a lot! It's a great way to get around as a solo traveler.
Felt very looked after, Justin made sure we were all accounted for after each stop. We were in a great group, so was a fun atmosphere. I would definitely do another tour with these guys.
Best tour leader, best traveller fellows, best tour bus driver...and great tour destination, obtained more knowledge about English-Scotland-Wales
I had such a good week traveling the UK and have fallen in love with England! Perci our tour leader was awesome, very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to do another expat tour next year!
The good things is we can go around country sides without worrying about transportation. The bad or aren't good, there's alot of optional rather than tour package.
It was just perfect in every sense from the tour leader, driver, coach cleanliness, hotel standards, place visited etc. Already looking forward to my next tour with Expat....THANK YOU SO MUCH EXPAT
The tour guide was like a robot. He was not flexible at all. We appreciated him showing us all destinations; However, he made us walk around the town at night, in a cold and rainy weather before going to dinner. He could explain and tell us all the details in a dry, warm restaurant. We all had to take Tylenol/Advil to avoid catching a cold. Some stops were not necessary to stay long and had nothing to eat for lunch, he let us stay over 45 minutes. Some places had many things to see and eat, we were allowed to stay for 15-20 minutes. We talked to some other people. They were impressed with the previous European tour, that's why they decided to take this tour. It didn't turn out as good as they expected. We stayed an ancient hotel that has ghost. We told the tour guide and he laughed at us. He even said that the bus driver also felt the same thing.
The tour was very informative and well organized. We had comfortable accomodations. Our guide, Mike was very efficient, kind and considerate. I will certainly recommend this tour.
We had a great time with Mike a our tour leader. Darren and kevin our drivers. Great price for great tour.
Everything was very well organised. Thank you Mike!
This was my first solo coach trip tour. I had an amazing experience visiting locations that I had never visited. I enjoyed the activities and I had a great time. Anyone who isn't sure about travelling solo, I would recommend this trip as you are made to feel welcomed.
Loved the tour very interesting got dark early on the walking tours in York and Edinburgh and couldn't take many pictures But otherwise an amazing experience and would definitely go again
Great Tour. Awesome dinners & breakfasts. Good to see a bit of the whole of Britain.
Mike is a wonderful and organized tour guide. He made history interesting by adding humor in his story-telling sessions.
Great tour , lots of experiences in a reasonable price. Well organized and excellent tour leader.
The Great Britain tour was much more than expected. There were surprises, perks not listed on the itinerary. Tour leader Mike was so knowledgeable about the surroundings and history. I loved that he gave so much advance notice to watch for sites etc we would be passing. Also, great stories & humour! His music matched the sites and area listed. Bus driver, Darren was most helpful. The group was interactive & friendly. Much laughter enjoyed! All in all, it was a grand week!
It was a great time
The tour package was fabulous. Except I'd skip Cardiff and rather stay closer to Stratford upon Avon for more time. NOTHING at Cardiff and a long way out of the way. Old couple on walking sticks really ruined this trip for us. The held up the group off and on the bus. Couldn't carry their own luggage or feed themselves at buffet. Even other people NOT on tour where sucked in to attending them. They were rude and very inconsiderate. PLEASE have prospective clients email their passports to you so you can verify their ages. This couple admitted to the guide they lied about their age and mobility. They couldn't walk across a room without hanging onto furniture. Imagine them just getting on and off the bus. If there had've been an emergency - they wouldn't have been able to get off and the rest of us would've been trapped. We would've been stuck. The husband Rev. Someone wouldn't let anyone go past him anywhere. He'd stand up in front of you. It almost had us walking off the tour. Expat really needs to tighten up their control of who is accepted onto these walking tours that require reasonable fitness and the ability to be at the very LEAST able to carry your own luggage. Neither the bus driver, guide or fellow travellers are responsible for nursing and caring for other passengers. This was our trip of a life time that we saved up for for years - not to have to play nursemaid to two other strangers who ahould never have been accepted with their lack of mobility and autonomy. It left a very sour taste and ruined our whole trip. You are with these people all day every day for 7 days. If clients are over 60 they need to supply a letter of fitness from their General Doctor to ENSURE they are fit enough to carry their own luggage and walk the 5-10km a day we were walking. This old couple whined they couldn't see things etc. It was clear in your notes that the tour required fitness. I would recommend Expat again - as long as you can ensure No people on walking sticks.
Fast paced tour that enables you to see the best of the UK. Our tour guide Mike was knowledgeable an entertaining! Our driver was awesome and skilled.Bus mates were a great bunch of folks from all over the world! Can't say enough good about this Expat experience.
We had a marvellous experience. Our tour guide Mike was an apt guide, friend and possessed a wealth of knowledge about all our destinations. Minty, the coach driver was such a helpful and friendly person.
Thoroughly recommend this great tour with Mike as tour Leader. He was a fountain of knowledge right throughout and also made the tour a fun experience! Many thanks also to Gary our coach driver for his expertise. My only complaint is ... tour needs to be 2-3 days longer at a little more relaxed pace. Really loved this tour!!
It was a nice experience. Love to see so many places. Mike as a tour leader has a lot of knowledge about the places. Thanks
Adam is an excellent tour leader with lots of knowledges on all places we visited. He made this tour an unforgettable one, thanks.
The downfall was the selection of hotels cheap and dirty with very little space to move in our suppliment payment of room. Britania Hotel discusting. Room not serviced and I had to use my bath again the next day with a non flushing toilet. The towels were not replaced and bed hard like sleepong on nails. Food very poor and staff snob and unattentive. My sister insisted she had to be chsbged room refuded to sleep an additional night in thst horrible bed. The manager response was well swap with your sister. REALLY shocking thst Expat picks tbese poor hotels. The only hotel which was 10/10 was Ibis in Liverpool Our driver Andrew the Great very very good at his jib. Our tour leader Adam on Tour was absolutely 10/10 courteous informative great sense of humour and patient. Great personality We all loved him.
So many people in the bus
This was my first ever coach tour. It surpassed my expectations completely! Not only did we have a knowledgeable tour guide but i have to give huge ahout out to Andrew our driver. Adam and Andrew made this experience unforgettable.
Had an amazing time with great people and tour guide was wonderful!!
It was a well organized tour. Mike our tour leader had a wealth of knowledge in the history of all places we visited . Joe was an excellent driver specially on the narrow winding roads . The only bad experience was the food at Arrochar in the highlands . We were a family of 4 traveling together and the different dishes served for dinner including the desserts were very poor.
Saw a. Lot of places and had fun. The only thing to change is to get WiFi on the coach.and also ditch the hotel in Edinburgh. That hotel sucks.
Very organized good value for money and good tour to get s taste of the three countries!
The tour was well organised and lots of fun. We really made the most of the short time we had to explore England, Scotland and Wales.
if there was a negative, it would be that it was too short - the tour was an appetiser to return to certain places and spend more time exploring, among others, Cambridge, Edinburgh, York, the Lake District... Jo our driver and Mike our tour guide kept us on time. I took 9/13 optional tours and am happy that I did; and would have taken all 13 had I the energy. Mike didn't try to "hard-sell' the optionals, was upbeat and just as appreciative of the scenery as if he hadn't seen it many times before. Met many wonderful explorers and I'm hoping to join another tour in future.
This is an excellent tour in many ways. You see a lot in a short amount of time, which was perfect for us. It's a great value for the price. Our tour leader was fabulous -- she couldn't have been more helpful, charming, fun, attentive, and knowledgeable. We would take another tour just to be with her. But it was a strenuous tour for us. We were cautioned that it would be, and we're still very glad we did it -- but there is a lot of walking, and for anyone over 70 (as we are), it's a challenge. Fast-paced schedule, toting luggage to and from the bus, in and out of hotels. The hotels are all very nice with excellent food. Some rooms were small, and in one we had a long way to walk with our luggage. But we loved seeing everything we stopped for -- great choices. Traffic going into Cardiff made us late so we didn't get much time to explore. Nice to have a toilet on the bus, although we stopped every 2-3 hours at very nice highway stations. The bus was full with 51 of us and there's not much room between the seats. Only when we got stuck in traffic or a few long drives did it get a little uncomfortable to sit. It was relaxing to drive throough the countryside and enjoy the scenery. Everyone on our trip was very pleasant and helpful -- we had a lovely variety of travel companions and made several close friends. All and all, I would gladly do this tour again -- to see a lot of England, Scotland, and Wales in a week -- especially if my husband and I were 10 years younger! For anyone under 70 in good health and fitness, I'd give this tour a 5-star recommendation.
Love all beautiful spot on this Great Britain tour with all historical stories
Comfortable coach and very competent driver. Delicious meals and nice hotel rooms. Tour guide knowledgeable and entertaining. Days were very long, many beginning before 7am and often ending with dinner after 9pm. Fewer stops (such as Battle of Colladen) would make for a more comfortable day.
I enjoyed the tour except for the 2 night stay at Hotel Brittania. That's the worst hotel I've ever stayed. Our toilet only flushes once a day. For the amount of money we paid for the tour, it should have been a 3 or 4 star hotel.
This tour has had all its trappings of a mixed tour with diverse activities. All 46 tourmates range from 16-year-old students to elder professors, a doctor, 6 Filipinas travelling for their high school reunion etc. Mike our Tour Leader is a Superstar Tour Guide and Martin was the smoothest driver ever. This trip was my 2nd with the tour operator. I've fully paid for my 3rd USA trip in August. We had fond memories commencing 26th May and immensely enjoyed the 7 days, ending 1st June with endearing goodbyes. One of my favourite tours ever.
It was an adventure of a lifetime; fast-paced, early-rising, action-packed tour. Full of many sites and places I would have not probably seen otherwise.
You get to see so many great places in a week! Fantastic experience and well organised tour.
The trip is a bit fast for me I wish to spend more time in some of the places we've visited specially Edinburg. I wish this is 10-12days trip. With regards to recomendation depend on who I will recommend it to. To a younger traveler yes I will recommend it, but not to the older people.
Did not like the hotel in Edinburgh. The hotel accommodation was too far from city center. had to drag our luggage up steep roadway. No phone to call the reception. Did not like the uncomfortable schedules in the morning. No time for toilet or washing your teeth. Rush rush rush. But the rest of the day was good. Generally I am happy with the tour. But please do not go cheap and keep the minimum standards. The tours are excellent, informative, friendly and we really enjoy them. The tour guides are very knledgable and make the visits so interesting. Thank you to the tour guide Mike.
A very fast paced all inclusive trip.
I really enjoyed my tour through the UK with Expat. Our guide, Mike, was awesome! He was very helpful, informative and funny. We had a few hiccups with some no-shows, equipment failure and some people who can't tell time, but Mike navigated around it to make sure everyone had a great time. The accommodations were clean, had great service and met expectations. All the excursions (both included and optional) were well worth the money and the meals were great. Areas for potential improvement - I would have wanted to spend less time in Stratford upon Avon and more time in Bath. The hotel in Cardiff had some struggles with hot water in the shower but that's about it.
Wow this tour has ticked all our boxes. We had so much fun. Everything was well organized from the first day. Tour leader Mike had so much knowledge and we really enjoyed our time with him and our driver Darren.
This tour took us to some of the greatest historical sites in UK. From York to Edinburgh, to Scotland, the Highlands, Liverpool, Cardiff, Bath and Stonehenge. It was fast paced but easy to be able to take photos, shop and get nourishment. Mike, the tour guide, had it all together. His stories kept us entertained and educated to the history of the sites. On the coach, he played movies and music that pertained to our tour. Also, he was quite a happy person to be around. Made everyone feel special. I loved the tour and the excursions where marvelous. Especially the Scottish Experience.
