Craving a travel experience that links the wonders of India and Nepal? The Delhi to Kathmandu tour is a 17-day odyssey designed for adventurous travelers who appreciate culture, wildlife, and spirituality. Start in New Delhi and journey through Ranthambore National Park, Agra, and Allahabad before crossing into Nepal’s Himalayan embrace.
Witness the sunrise over the Taj Mahal’s marble dome and soak in the pink hues of Jaipur’s palaces. Experience the spiritual energy of Varanasi, where a boat ride down the Ganges immerses you in timeless rituals. Camp on the riverbanks for a truly unique perspective before entering Nepal.
In Nepal, explore sacred temples, vibrant bazaars, and seek out the elusive one-horned rhino near the Royal Palace. This moderately active tour package offers a mix of wildlife adventure, city exploration, and cultural encounters, with accommodation, transport, and meals all included.
The trip’s unique feature is its seamless connection between two fascinating countries, offering travelers the chance to witness both iconic sites and hidden gems in one comprehensive journey. For those who crave a richly textured trip across borders, Delhi to Kathmandu is a perfect fit.
An amazing trip that kept on delivering. As previously said in other reviews, full on with some long days but rewarded with great locations and experiences. We were in a group of six with our excellent guide Anil who can fix/sort anything. So many highlights, impossible to list them all but the wildlife and sailing down the Ganges were superb. Camp food on the Ganges was some of the best we had. If you are thinking of this trip just do it. You won't moan about potholes after driving in Nepal.
Great leadership, itinerary well planned and lovely accommodation throughout
Fantastic trip. Very full on. Use a rucksack or soft bag as 5 train journeys. 2nd to last day involved an 11 hour 'road' journey...in itinerary states 5 hours. Roads are non existent in Nepal. Highlights train journeys, camping, Taj Mahal, Indian food. Would love to have spent more time in Kathmandu.
Great tour around India and Nepal, small group, well organised, I was very happy costumer
This "full on" trip visits a lot of interesting places in India and Nepal but feels very rushed to accommodate its itinerary. This should be a 20-to 21-day trip rather than the current 17-day trip. Visiting Delhi, Rajasthan, Agra, Varanasi, Rathambore National Park, Chitvan National Park, Pokhara, and Kathmandu was wonderful and I saw three tigers and many one-horn rhinos in the nature parks. There are five train journeys on this trip, including one sleeper train journey from Agra to Allahabad. Five fairly long back-to-back train journeys were somewhat tiring especially that the sleeper train journey was immediately followed by a boat trip and camping on Ganges River. The two long drives on awful roads in Nepal (from Chitwan to Pokhara and from Pokhara to Kathmandu) were very tiring and greatly exceeded the estimated time stated in the itinerary. For example, the exhausting drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu took 11 hours rather than the estimated 6 hours. Except for two to three hotels, all accommodations were subpar for the price of this trip. This was my ninth trip with Explore and my fifth trip to India and the accommodations on this trip were must worse that the ones on the previous trips. Overall, I recommend this trip because of the interesting places it covers and the wonderful guide we had (Sanjeev) but be prepared that you will very likely need another holiday/vacation to rest from this one.
