Croatian & Eastern Delights

This tour has very interesting countries we went though, great scenery around the coast of Croatia, lots of history in all the counties. Great tour with a great lot of people from different counties.

Covered a lot of ground in short time frame. Lots of walking. Good value for money and pre tour information is a must to read.

The tour itself was great, it was full on and that was fine for me, however, we did have some people who had trouble keeping up with the pace, especially the walking.

This is one of my favorite Expat tours that I've taken. I believe our group had a great experience because of our tour leader Igor Maximus. Igor's knowledge about the countries and cities that we visited is outstanding. He is a very caring person ensuring that everyone is safe and enjoying the tour. We would love to have him as our tour leader and/or manager again in the future.

A great way to get a MET and decide which countries warrant further exploration and quality holiday time. The tour leader's (Igor) knowledge of the various countries was exceptional given he was from Serbia and the bus driver was rated the best in Europe.

The tour was so nice. We've learned a lot about history of each country. We saw how beautiful Eastern Europe.

I did this tour solo and really enjoyed it. The highlights were the lunch stop in Lake Bled- I'd have loved more time there, it's so beautiful!-, Croatia, Sarajevo and Montenegro. Definitely do the day trip there if you're considering the tour, it's totally worth it! There are a lot of long travel days followed by sometimes equally long walking tours- but you don't have to do them if it's not your thing. I didn't and don't feel as if I missed anything. The starts aren't always super early and the coach is comfortable. This is my second Expat tour and it won't be my last.

I enjoyed this tour since I saw many countries and cultures. The bus driver, Alex, was wonderful. The bus was kept clean. Peter, our guide was very good and answered all questions.

Most fantastic Tour Leader Dee and Bus Driver Gabor. Thankyou Bus immaculate and comfortable for 37 Some great people , accommodation and ambitious iteniary with really great places to see.

This taster of Eastern Europe plus a deep dive of Croatia opened up my eyes on the richness of history and culture of the Eastern European, i.e the Slavics, the Germans and the Czechs.

Munich and through the Balkans this tour provides a brilliant look at the history and culture of an important part of Europe. It has a packed itinerary, efficiently organised with good hotels and many discoveries in busy days of touring. Lots of guidance and recommendations are provided for food, views and cultural experiences which makes for an excellent tour.

Such a well coordinated tour run by Expat and especially our tour leader Firo who had total control over our group without anyone feeling 'controlled'. This makes such a difference to ensuring everything runs smoothly. Firo's contagious smile and enthusiasm added to his knowledge of local areas was brilliant. We visited places that you normally would not see. Our driver was also fantastic negotiating very narrow streets and very windy roads. We always felt safe with Alex in control at the wheel. Would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone.

I'm reeling from how many amazingly beautiful cities, natural areas, parks, cultural experiences, and architectural masterpieces we were able to appreciate in 10 different countries in such a short period of time. I loved this trip, particularly because we visited countries considered ""off the beaten path.""

Great fun Firo our tour leader was awesome really knew how to bring a group of people who never meet before become a family. And our driver Alex was wonderful his skills in driving small and narrow roads I never once had doubt in safety. It's an experience I will never forget

Alex handled construction obstacles and road rage drivers with patience and ease. Firo kept us on track and provided great entertainment. There was a lot packed into 14 days but every stop was worth the trip. Alex and Firo should definitely team up again.

Too many places to visit with so little time

Diverse tour with many different countries allowing you to see and experience many cultures. The history was wonderful! Our travel leader, Emma O., was fabulous! She had detailed knowledge, personal experience and outstanding English and interpreter skills which made everything a delight. Our tour group was great with individuals from all around the world!

I enjoy every moment of it , even that is lots of walking is really amazing seeing different cultures and eating different foods , watching the buildings structures , and learning about the different cities !

The tour was as described so make sure you read everything about it beforehand. Lots of big driving days (saw some delightful countryside) and evening walking tours. Glad to have been on a summer trip as the walking tours often started late but that was ok with long evenings. Free time and days were great to break this up. Driver and tour leader managed the big group well.

My husband & I went for the Croation & Eastern Delights on the 11th - 24th June 2023. This is our 5th tour with Expat Explore so we are familiar with the drill. And we have no doubt that it will be another amazing experience. But as the tour progresses, it went BEYOND amazing! Once again Expat Explore went above and beyond to provide a fabulous itinerary that is truly value for money. But the key to a 6-star + 1 diamond tour (in our opinion) lies in the tour leader. We were very fortunate to travel with Branden Gee as the Tour Leader for the trip. He was amazing in keeping the positive vibe within the group and keeping everything and everyone together. And it helps that everyone in the group was super super awesome people. We met as strangers and parted as family at the end of the tour. We came back home fully energized, inspired and geared for our next adventures with Expat Explore.

Excellent tour covering a lot of countries in 13 days. Fast paced. The hotels exceeded my expectations and all of the included meals were excellent. The Budapest river cruise was the best optional tour I have ever done ( and I don't often do them ). The food, wine and scenery was exceptional. Our tour guide, Emma, was totally amazing. She was outstanding for a young woman aged only 27. Her excitement rubbed off on all of us and her English was excellent. Her extensive knowledge of each country was impressive and all came from her head, not google like my last tour guide. She also handled misbehavior in a professional and mature manner. Everyone was treated equally. she is an asset to your company. Bus driver, Kris, was an excellent driver and a complete gentleman. Fabulous that the bus had usb ports. Very handy.

The trip was amazing! Reasonably priced and with a cleverly designed itinerary, this tour is a great way to see the sights of Eastern Europe! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have an absolutely magical and amazing experience during my trip to Croatian and eastern delight tour! The views and places absolutely stunning and beautiful! From the old town Dubrovnik that's gives me a magical experience to see and feel the ambience of GOT moments! And see the beautiful mountains of the balkans! Amazing museums and charming architurea in Vienna and Munich! And glomming lights along the river Budapest cruise! This this amazing and magical experience I will be cherishing for the rest of my life! Big shout to our amazing tour leader Marty and Chris for making this trip a memorable and safe tour! We all had a wonderful time, the whole group got along and we made life long friends. It was fast, we saw a lot of beautiful places. Our driver was excellent, his name was Chris and our tour leader was Martina ""Marty"" who had a wealth of information since she has traveled the world visiting every country in this world… amazing! We would highly recommend Expat, this was our sixth trip. Safe travels!

We both thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Tour Guide Marty and driver Chris were both amazing and made traveling through Eastern Europe easy for us. While the days were long, which we knew that they would be given the distance we had to cover, Marty ensured all check ins were seamless to ensure we could freshen up before looking around the city. We loved the additional excursions offered too - the dinner cruise in Budapest and the lunch time cruise in Prague more than met our expectations and would recommend both options to future travelers. Oh, and the Sound of Vienna recital was fantastic too - not my usual thing but I was so pleased I attended it - it was on my husband's bucket list. Would do it all again tomorrow!

It was (at times) a challenging tour. As with most tours, there's a lot of early starts & long days, but that is to be expected. It was wonderful to see so many diversely different countries & cultures. We had a few local guides showing us around their respective cities, however, our guides in Sarajevo (Enes) & Budapest (Natasha), were both absolutely marvellous. So, with the expertise of Kev our guide & our Hungarian Hunk Gabor our driver, it truly was an unforgettable experience.

We were fortunate to have Kevin Sceene as our tour guide. He was wonderful and enhanced our experience throughout the trip. Gabor our driver was absolutely Amazing! Best driver we have ever had on a trip. The timing of stops was very well planned out and the experiences at each was very good! We did not do all of the additional trips but we did do most and they were very good! Especially the Danube night cruise,Montenegro and Czech folk dinner!

Too many unexpected highlights to list. Budapest dinner cruise and Prague experiences will not be easily forgotten. Overall, a packed itinerary, providing excellent value for money. Our tour almost appeared to be 'jinxed' in many ways, but Kev our tour guide was thoroughly professional and dedicated to ensuring that none of the minor issues affected our experience. He went out of his way time and time again to give us an amazing 14 day experience.

The travelling time was long with its early starts, but I understand that, I just wish we could have had earlier breakfasts, because that is the most important meal of the day, to set us on our way.

Our Tour Guide Kevin was incredibly good and no matter what happened he went out of his way to ensure we had the best experience.

So many highlights. Our driver was amazing, finding back ways to cross the boarders during the busy end of school holiday period. The tour was great with so many amazing places. The standouts for me were Budapest, Prague, Slovenia, Dubrovnik, Split and Mostar. As a solo traveller, I find Expat fantastic and meet other solo travellers. This is my 5th tour with Expat and every time the group on the bus have been great fun and mixed well.

The tour exceeded my expectations. I loved the way it was run every day. The guide was brilliant & very informative in every city. The optional tours were good value. The hotels were better than expected . I will definitely be booking another EXPAT tour & telling all my friends in Australia to travel with this company. There were a good mix of ages on the tour as well.

Excellent tour thru Europe and Croatia. Leader Matt and driver Zoltan made experience memorable. Saw lots, made lifetime friendships, checked off lots on bucket list. Highly recommend. First time with Expat; definitely will go with them again. Surpassed our expectations!

Matt and Zoltan were great. I love the hotels, the breakfasts and optional dinners. I did not get the 2 optional tours in Prague but I should have gotten the dinner dance since it was good according to those who went, otherwise all the optional tours we got were all worth it.

Been with Expat before and I can say this is by far the most scenic tour I had. I highly recommend everyone to do this tour. Explored 10 countries, cities and landmarks of Eastern Europe . Our tour leader Matt Grieves took us to these amazing places with great knowledge and Zoltan managed to drive 33 like-minded individuals safely full circle from Munich to Munich. We will all treasure these experiences for the rest of our lives. Kudos to Expat team on yet another unforgettable tour!

It was a great tour - we enjoyed it!

The tour was amazing, we visited some beautiful cities and had some great experiences. Our tour guide Andreea was so knowledgeable and helpful throughout the tour and our driver Zoltan saved us hours at the tricky borders by using lesser known ones. For me the highlight was Croatia and the total surprise Slovenia which was gorgeous. Hotels were good and food also, although being a vegetarian made it tricky at times in big meat eating countries. All in all a wonderful trip ...... thank you.

This tour was such good value for money - 9 beautiful countries in 14 days. We chose to opt in to the majority of the excursions but there was the flexibility to opt out if you wished to keep the costs down. The hotels were comfortable, the group dinners were delicious and our tour guide and driver were incredibly helpful, unflappable and friendly. This tour is not for the faint-hearted - we even started to enjoy the 7 o'clock starts, the hours of coach travel and the city walking tours in 35'C of heat! Every moment was fantastic!

I'm glad I decided to join with the tour operator for the Balkan tour! Fast pace, early mornings start most of the days, but fun! Covered everything that I wanted to see and the shared room option gained me a new bestie from some other corner of the world! Rachelle, the tour leader, was very attentive, informative and friendly. She's very strict with timing, though ?? With the games that she threw at us during the 6 hours wait at the Serbian border, made it bearable. Tractor! ?? Experiencing local transportations and included local cuisines are also plus points of this tour! Will definitely book with the agency again for my next adventure!

The tour was fabulous, The Leader Tour Dorota Kochaniak is very good, I hope in my next tour I will have her. The driver Soltan , he is very kind and helpful to all the people in the tour. The only think I suggest, expend less time in the concentration camp y more in the next city Leylaria, beautiful City needs more time to be there. Thank you, Eliana

Thoroughly enjoyed the places , many adventures

My hubby and I generally satisfied with the tour program, but there were some issues which we would like to highlight to expat management for future improvement, also applicable to other tours which we maybe interested to join in the future: 1. Hotel selection. We really upset expat chosen several hotels that to our disappointment, such as Hotel B&B Ljubljana Park (our room Aircon not working and we have to wait for technician to come and hotel reception refused to change room for us, due to this, we miss our walking tour. Hotel Medena I was the worst hotel in this tour, nothing in the room can function well and so run down. Lastly was the Krystal hotel in Prague, no Aircon and far from metro station and the staff was really rude towards not only to us but also to tour leader. I hope expat will more care in selecting the hotel as we are traveler which really need a comfortable bed to sleep well. We particularly love hotel in Budapest (Mercure) and Dubrovnik. The others not the best but acceptable such as Hotel Bosnia, Achat Munich and Roomz Hotel Vienna. 2. Dinner. The first night dinner beer hall the food was really not up to standard as expected, I was disappointed with it. Dinner in Prague also not very good. Suggest to include the final night dinner so that all the tour members can have farewell together before ended in the next morning (just a thought). 3. For us we particularly like the free day, such as Dubrovnik. Budapest and Prague. Perhaps expat may consider to include free day in places like Vienna, Sarajevo, and I don't even mind to have additional free day in places like Budapest, we feel that one free day is too short to cover so many places, which made us tired towards the whole journey. I would like to have more time at Bratislava, Cesky Krumlov and Nuremberg, time given was really too short which made us rushing and stressful. 4. Last but not least, I am looking forward to join other expat tour but really like something slower and more relaxing.

This was a very fast paced tour with early mornings and often late nights. Walked about 10km/ day and bus put on about 4000 km. We saw a lot and I took about 4000+ photos. I didn't use the few free time days to explore or shop but instead to rest. Our walking tours were often 2-3 hours long....a bit much for a 69 year old! But, we did see a lot of amazing places....so glad to have see it all!
