Cape to Delta Safari

I recently joined the Contiki Cape to Delta Safari, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The itinerary was packed with incredible wildlife encounters, stunning landscapes, and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. Our guide, was phenomenal—extremely knowledgeable, approachable, and always ready to help. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable, informed, and getting the most out of the journey. Another highlight was the amazing third-party partners Contiki worked with along the way. From safari operators to local guides, every collaboration felt seamless and added so much authenticity and richness to the trip. You can really tell they’ve built strong relationships with the best people in each region. The only downside was our time at Victoria Falls. As breathtaking as the falls are, we unfortunately only had about 40 minutes to enjoy them. Because some of the group opted for bridge activities, the rest of us had to wait and ended up feeling rushed through the experience. It would be much better if those not participating in bridge activities were able to head to the falls earlier, giving everyone enough time to fully appreciate one of the natural wonders of the world. Overall, this trip was absolutely incredible and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a mix of adventure, wildlife, and culture in Southern Africa. With just a little more time at Victoria Falls, it would have been perfect.

This was my first contiki trip and I did not know anyone before the trip, but it was fantastic. We spent a lot of time doing game drives so that we got to see a lot of animals. We also got to do more cultural activities as well, which was important to me. The trip leader was fantastic, and all the people he worked with along the way were also great. I learned a lot. If you are interested in going on a safari trip, but are not sure how to get around or where to go, this is a great way to do it.

This trip was the best!! I wouldn’t change anything about it, I loved the length of the trip, the activities, the group and the trip manager

The Cape to Delta Safari with Contiki was the trip of a lifetime! The itinerary was well balanced with safaris and other curated activities, all of which were fantastic. The hotel accommodations were perfect and the camping exceeded my expectations. The highlight of the trip, though, was our guide. He went above and beyond to make sure every we got the most out of our trip. I cannot recommend this trip and Contiki enough!

This trip was the best group tour I have ever been on, I have been on roughly 10 in total between different companies. I feel this tour has a good mix of city activities in Cape Town, adrenaline activities at Victoria falls and Safari days between Kruger and then Delta. I was impressed by the quality of the accommodation. I would 100% recommend and even consider re-doing it at some point myself.

The best trip ever! I am enchanted by Africa, and will absolutely be back! Our tour manager did a fantastic job in facilitating that!! He was organized, knowledgeable, and fun, and he handled any issues so smoothly that we rarely noticed them. I really appreciated that the tour manager was from the region and from the countries we visited, as he had in-depth knowledge and an unrivalled passion for the area.

This trip is a well-oiled machine! Despite the packed itinerary, which included the coordination of numerous modes of transportation and guides, the trip was run incredibly smoothly and our tour manager always demonstrated professionalism, knowledge, and kindness. Opting into all the add-on safaris is a must, and many of the other add-on activities are amazing ways to tailor your experience. I really enjoyed being able to personalize my own itinerary because I could opt into activities I personally found interesting or fun, while allowing myself to also build in some down time if the activity wasn’t what I was looking for. This is a fantastic trip and I would recommend this to anyone who’s interested in experiencing the beauty that Southern Africa offers.

I really enjoyed the trip and the way camping was mixed into the other accommodations. However, it would have been nice to have some more options for Cape Town add-ons, even if we couldn’t do all of them. I.e see Nelson Mandela’s prison. I also think the township tour should be an inclusion. The walking safari in Zambia was a bit too expensive though, considering we only did like 30-40min of walking. was fantastic in the way he welcomed us to his home country and spoke about life in Africa.
