Challenging yet rewarding cycling with stunning views, wine and food!

If you are after a trip that is more than just cycling, this is for you! The first 3 days are tough, but you get challenging mountain pass's followed by exhilarating downhills. You cycling through a variety of landscapes, from coastal roads and paths, to the arid desert of the little Karoo, vast countryside and plush mountainous roads. No day is the same which is nice! The food and wine is also a big bonus.

This tour of South Africa was amazing, I definitely recommend. It wasn't too full on, there was time to relax, but still got to see so much. There are a lot of long drives, but we did cover a lot of South African Starting in Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and ending in Cape Town. The 2 day Safari was brilliant. However it can get very cold on the Safari make sure you have plenty of layers on, I made the mistake of not wearing enough clothes and got very cold. Although seeing so many different animal's and birds was mesmerising. Zip lining in the rainforest was great fun, although an extra, I was so glad I did it. The whale watching was amazing lots of whales and we even saw the calf with its mother. This was also extra but definitely worth doing. The Penguins colony, also great. The views from the coach of the Garden Route were stunning. Cape Town Harbour is lovely so much going on and a great choices of food to choose from. I would recommend booking extra nights in Cape Town, there isn't enough time to see and do everything in Cape Town. Table Top Mountain was amazing I felt like I was in the clouds. Going to Robin Island for me it was a must do, seeing were Nelson Mandela was imprisoned and listening to a former political prisoner tell his story was very emotional. I would have loved to had 2 or 3vextra days in Cape Town Most of the hotels we stay in were beautiful. I loved this tour.

Great Trip, Great Group

An excellent trip with a great group and group leader. The itinerary enabled a real mix of cycling in the countryside and by the sea. It was a bit windy for a couple of days and there were a couple of testing climbs but it was all very manageable.

Excellent

What really made this trip special was how much variety it packed into 12 days. It never felt repetitive. One day we were out on a game drive in Kruger National Park, watching elephants cross the road right in front of our vehicle. Next, we were in a completely different setting, standing in front of Victoria Falls, feeling the spray on our faces. It was surreal to experience such different landscapes and wildlife in such a short span of time. The weather also helped. It was nearly perfect throughout the tour. Mornings were cool and crisp, great for early safaris, and by afternoon it would warm up just enough without being uncomfortable. Every place felt timed just right. Our guide knew when to slow down and when to move on so we never missed anuything. Cape Town, especially, stood out. Seeing the Table Mountain was unlike anything I’d seen before. We took the cable car up, which was an optional tour and the views of the city and coastline were incredible. There was also a nice balance of cultural activities. We also did Winelands tour which yet was another amaing experience. I had some concerns before booking, but everything, from airport pickups to hotel check-ins was butter smooth. I felt safe and taken care of. You should surely give this one a try if you're traveling to South Africa for thr first time.

One of my best holidays :-)

This was an amazing trip on so many levels. I have come back feeling energised, invigorated and really sad to leave...testament to a great hol! I was travelling on my own and apprehensive. I needn't have been. My group were so welcoming and friendly. We got to know each other quite quickly and had such a laugh together. We are hoping to meet up again in the New Year. The itinerary was so varied, there was never a dull moment. Ideally 14 days would be preferable as you are packing so much in. Animals and birds- so much to see, recommend doing Schotia game drive and whale watching. Penguins at boulders beach were brilliant. Flora-beautiful flowers, shrubs and trees and a chance to visit the botanical gardens in Cape Town. Food-Wow...such a variety , huge portions and cheap. Recommend the ostrich, but so many other dishes to choose from( meat or veg) Wine-fabulous and cheap. I loved the chenin blanc. I enjoyed the afternoon in Stellenbosch too. Landscape-absolutely stunning..Tsitsikamma, Cape of Good Hope, ocean drives and more! Activities- so varied and you have the opportunity to choose the activities you want to do at various locations. Guide- Marco was great on every level. He was informative, professional, catered to everyone's needs and kept us safe. Accommodation - I particularly liked Tsitsikamma oceanette as right by the ocean. Got woken up at 5.30am by baboons jumping on the bin outside:-). Loved House Martin and the Windsor Hotel. Cape Town-beautiful. I visited Robben Island, 2nd half of this tour was particular good as we were shown around by an ex inmate. I didn't get the chance to go up Table Mountain as I had to leave early. There is so much to see and experience that I will definitely return.

Stunning and varied landscape on this tour The holiday offers a range of experiences and options to try more. There’s some modest walking, animal encounters ( penguins, whales, birds, monkeys etc) and culture. Food is of a good standard and great value - fresh fish is widely available. Add a couple of days to your tour in Cape Town as there’s so much to do and not much chance on the tour. Similarly if you like safaris, there is just the one drive at the end of the holiday in Addo - add a day or two there and visit the private reserves and Addo park. The tour is at a relatively gentle pace and activities are generally relaxing rather than energetic
