London: You’re invited to the Tower of London to experience the Ceremony of the Keys, the oldest practiced military ceremony in the world. At your special after-hours visit you’ll get an inside look at the 700-year-old tradition that stood the tests of even the most tumultuous times.
York: Step into the world of a period drama with an exclusive after-hours tour of an elegant 18th-century mansion. Enjoy a private, guided experience through grand rooms and lavish interiors, immersing yourself in the refined charm of a bygone era in complete privacy.
Edinburgh: A Local Expert guides you around magnificent Edinburgh Castle, perched on a black basalt outcrop. Discover the site’s 900-year history and take in the spectacular panoramic views over the city’s most famous landmarks.
Bath: Visit the historic Roman Baths, which draw from Britain’s only natural mineral springs and gave the Georgian city its name. This remarkably preserved historic site was once a gathering spot for Romans to bathe and socialise over 2,000 years ago.
Bath: Visit the immersive Jane Austen Centre dedicated to the writer who lived here in the early 1800s and used the city as a setting for two of her novels. Learn about her life, her works and the Regency period from entertaining actors.
Experience Great Britain in all its luxuriant glory as you explore Alnwick and Edinburgh Castles. At the Tower of London, join the Yeoman Warder for a Ceremony of the Keys—a time old tradition carried out for the past 700-years, to help guard the Crown Jewels. Journey in style from Viking York to the magnificent Castle Howard for High Tea in the grand surrounds of the Grecian Hall, followed by a private tour of the castle and its grounds, after it closes to the public. In Bath join a Local Expert to visit Roman Baths, one of the greatest religious spas of the ancient world, before enjoying a spectacular lunch at The Olive Tree. This Michelin-starred restaurant serves up a mouthwatering menu of locally sourced, seasonal fare, paired with fine wines.
Your advertising is misleading ie virtually every thing included - we had one Michelin star meal for lunch and not many dinners when one pays 25,000 for 2 people for 10 days every thing should be included all meals breakfast/ lunch/dinner
We had the most amazing travel concierge and coach driver. Small group was excellent as everyone mixed and got on well. Lots of little extra bits too which made the tour special and unique. Our concierge was experienced and knowledgeable and also used guides with local knowledge and expertise and these were brilliant as well. We seemed to have special little extras which made it different from a stock itinerary.
as our guide was great. He knew the strengths of guides that we had on tours in the various places we visited. Having the gentleman who played the bagpipes for us and gave us a presentation, and entertained questions was great. The Miliary Tatoo was great. We had an excellent bus driver. and worked together well as a team.
The itinerary offered access to exhibits, castles and historic sites that we would not have otherwise visited. The schedule was just enough scheduled events and free time to explore on our own. The hotels and coach were very comfortable. The Tour Director was very organized, friendly and helpful.
Nice complete itinerary. Great guide and great coach/driver. Lake District accommodations were lacking.
We enjoyed the itinerary and especially our guide, Mike, and our driver, John. We felt that other tour companies included more group dinners, which increased camaraderie among the guests. With the exception of the inn in the Lake District, all of the hotels were wonderful. The Lake District inn left quite a bit to be desired - we requested to change your rooms because the initial room had flies and hair on the bed. The food they served was not too our liking.
Great to stay more than one night at most hotels Excellent tour leader and driver
This tour provided an interesting overview of and insights into the culture/people of England and Scotland. The small group format made for a more intimate experience and the opportunity to get to know our fellow travelers. Good job.
It’s beautiful: the castles, the countryside, the architecture. The guides without exception were knowledgeable and fun. I felt as if I were touching history. I also liked the special touches (the Ceremony of the Keys, the talk by the bagpiper) and lots of time to explore on our own. If I were going to change anything, I would drop Stratford on Avon (tourist trap) and spend more time driving or walking in the Cotswolds.
