Itinerary
Join us on this 6-day, guided tour of Mumbai and Goa and get the chance to experience two Indias: one that is dominated by finance, technology and entertainment and the other that is quiet and laid-back. We will pick you up at the airport on arrival on Day 1 of the tour and drive you to the hotel.
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Mumbai and see some of the city's main highlights on the second day of the tour before flying to Goa (own expense, not included in the tour price), India's popular beach resort area and holiday destination.
Spend two days in Goa sprawling on the beach or exploring the surrounding areas before it is time to head home. Stay in 3-star hotels or similar during this trip and go out on your sightseeing tour in a private vehicle accompanied by a professional, English-speaking driver. Please note that entrance fees to the monuments mentioned on the itinerary are not included in the tour price and must be paid for by the travellers themselves. For more details, please go through the itinerary below.
day 1 - Arrival in Mumbai
Upon arrival at Mumbai International Airport, our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Mumbai is a city spread out on seven islands and is located along the Arabian Sea.
With its chaotic streets, magnificent colonial buildings and vibrant ambiance, Mumbai is a place worth exploring. In addition to all this, the city is also known for the centuries-old Elephanta Caves located a few kilometres off the coast of Mumbai.
Today, you are free after checking into your hotel. Explore the city on your own or sleep off that jet lag.
day 2 - Mumbai sightseeing tour
Set off on a sightseeing tour of Mumbai after breakfast. Your first destination is the Elephanta Caves located on the Elephanta island. Enjoy a ferry ride from the Gateway of India to the island. These caves were built between fifth and eighth centuries and are a set of rock-cut cave temples.
An impressive, 20-feet-high Trimurthi featuring the three aspects of Lord Shiva (creator, protector and destroyer) is the prime highlight of this cave temple. Head back to the jetty to take the ferry back to the Gateway of India after having explored the monument.
Spend some time taking pictures at the Gateway of India, one of Mumbai's most important landmarks. This monument was built in 1924 to honor King George V and Queen Mary's visit to India in 1911.
Next, visit the Prince of Wales Museum, also called Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, built during the early 20th century. This museum is a blend of Indo-Saracenic architecture with an impressive white dome on the top. This museum is said to have around 2,000 miniature paintings along with artefacts belonging to the Indus Valley civilization.
Later, visit the Hanging Gardens, which came into being in 1880, located in the Malabar Hills. A splendid view of the Arabian Sea adds to the beauty of this natural realm. A striking flower clock is the main attraction here. End your Mumbai sightseeing tour with a visit to Marine Drive, the heart and soul of Mumbai stretched across the coast of Arabian Sea. Lit with lights at nights, the drive gives an impression of a dazzling chain, the reason why it is also called "Queen's Necklace".
Stay overnight in Mumbai.
day 3 - Mumbai - Goa (by flight)
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel before you head for the airport to catch your flight to Goa, a much-loved tourist destination located on the banks of the Arabian Sea (please note that flight tickets are not included in the tour price). A tropical beauty that attracts a huge number of tourists from around the world, Goa is known for its vibrant beaches, rocking nightlife, beautiful churches, authentic seafood, beach-side forts and bustling bazaars selling a variety of goods. You are free for the rest of the day after checking into your hotel.
