Welcome to Athens! Upon arrival in the Greek capital, you will be met by our company representative and transferred to your hotel.

Optional: Half Day Sightseeing Tour of Athens This tour will start with a short stop to the Panathinaiko Stadium where the first Olympic Games took place in 1896. Continue your journey with a panoramic drive passing by the ex-Royal Palace, Zappion Hall, Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus, National Temple of Hadrian Arch, St. Paul’s Church, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Schliemann’s House, Catholic Cathedral, Academy, University, and National Library. From there we will make our way to the archaeological site of Acropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Monument, and visit Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens, and of course the Parthenon. Continue your tour with a short yet pleasant walk passing by the Herodian and Dionysus Theatre, to visit the Acropolis Museum. Main attractions such as the votines, artefacts from everyday life, statues from the archaic period, Caryatids, and of course the Parthenon hall with the metopes, pediments, and the frieze will impress you.

day 3 - Athens – Kusadasi
As the morning sun rises, your cruise arrives in Kusadasi at 08:00. The warm and friendly beach resort atmosphere welcomes you. Begin your day with a guided tour of the ancient city of Ephesus, one of the highlights of your Aegean journey. After exploring the historical ruins, take time to stroll along the scenic seafront promenade and browse the Grand Bazaar. Return to the ship by 18:00 for departure.

Optional: Land of Alexander The Great The excursion to the Land of Alexander The Great begins with a scenic drive to Pella – the second state capital of ancient Macedonia and the birthplace of the 4th-Century BC Emperor. He is widely considered to be one of history’s most successful military commanders. What was once a bustling metropolis, and the seat of the royal family is now an important archaeological site that reveals the ancient city’s grandeur. The monumental palatial complex covers an area of 60.000 sq.m and features the biggest agora (commercial and manufacturing center) of the ancient world. Among the archaeological excavated treasures that have been unearthed are two-story public buildings built in traditional Doric and Ionic style and luxurious private homes with intricate marble mosaic floors. There is also a collection of delicate clay figurines and vases. Optional: Half Day ancient Ephesus & the Terrace Houses Every step we take in Ancient Ephesus brings us closer to the Hellenistic, Roman and early Christian eras. We will enjoy a truly exceptional experience in one of the most important and complete classical cities in Europe, even though only a fraction of it has been uncovered. We pass through the Magnesian Gate and wander through the Agora, Odeon, the magnificent and restored Library of Celsus, the marble-paved Main Street of Curetes, Baths of Scholastica, The Great Theatre, Trajan’s Fountain, the Houses of the Patricians, Prytaneum and the Temple of Hadrian. Opposite Hadrian’s Temple, at the foot of the Bulbul Hill and the covered part of the archaeological site, protected from heat and natural elements, lie the Houses of Koressus or Terrace Houses. It was here that the wealthy families of Ancient Ephesus lived. These villas are excellently preserved especially the interior decor. The oldest houses so far unearthed date from the 1st Century BC, were built on two stories and even had hot and cold water and a heating system, clay pipes under the floor. They were even constructed to a city plan in which roads intersected with each other at right angles. Ephesus, which became the second largest city in the Roman Empire, was dedicated to the goddess Artemis and the magnificent temple built to honour her took 120 years to complete. Optional: Ancient Ephesus through the ages - Hellenistic and Roman times This is a wonderful journey through some of the most important and formative periods of history and we hope you will be enthralled by the stories of the Hellenes, Romans and of Christianity in our fascinating exploration of Ephesus. This marvelous city, sitting on the hills outside Kusadasi is a fabulous open-air archaeological wonder founded by the Greeks around 2000 BC. It was one of the most important cities of the region and was dedicated to the goddess Artemis. The Temple built in her honor was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It had more than 100 marble pillars each standing 56 feet tall and it earned the city the name ‘Servant of the Goddess.’ A single pillar remains standing on the site, found during an excavation in the 1870s. We will be able to see the Agora, Odeon, the Library of Celsus, the marvel-paved Main Street of Curetes, the Baths of Scholastica, Trajan’s Fountain, the Temple of Hadrian and the Houses of Koressus, where the wealthy families of Ancient Ephesus lived. Only 13 percent of Ephesus has so far been uncovered. The finds from the excavations made so far are housed in the Archaeological Museum of Ephesus in the city of Selcuk.
day 5 - Rhodes – Crete - Agios Nikolas - (greece)

Optional: Venetian Heraklion and the unique Archaeological Museum Crete is Greece’s largest island and the birthplace of Zeus according to mythology. Our tour enables us to find out more about the important period of Venetian rule and explore the jewels in the crown of the capital Heraklion’s wonderful structures including the ‘Koules’ fortress, Venetian Loggia, Basilica of St Mark, the medieval monastery of St Catherine and the Cathedral of Agios Minas. The Venetian Loggia is an especially eye-catching and beautiful structure that still functions as the Town Hall of Heraklion. It was built in 1620 and was a place for Venetian noblemen to gather. The fortifications of Heraklion surround the old city. They were first constructed in the Middle Ages but they were completely rebuilt by the Republic of Venice and resisted the Ottoman Turkish forces for 22 years in the 1600s. They are among the best-preserved city walls in the Mediterranean. The ancient city of Knossos, near the capital Heraklion, was the place that ‘gave birth’ to the very first civilization of Europe, the Minoans. So we can probably say it’s Europe's oldest city. We can really feel the sense of history and understand some of the myths and legends of Ancient Greece here in Heraklion. We also learn about some of Crete’s leading figures, including Nobel Prize-winning poet Odysseas Elytis, the painter El Greco and the writer Nikos Kazantzakis. We end at the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion to find out more about the background of the history and culture of Crete.
day 6 - Crete – Santorini (greece)
As the sun rises on the horizon, the cruise docks in Santorini at 08:00, a stunning island known for its volcanic origin and dramatic scenery. Spend the day admiring the iconic whitewashed buildings and blue-domed churches against the brilliant blue sea. Experience the island’s tranquil Mediterranean lifestyle before departing at 22:00 hrs.
