day 1 - Cusco - Lares - Huacahuasi

We´ll pick you up in the morning and drive you to Calca, located in the Sacred Valley Start hiking next. The highest point of today's journey is located 4265m above sea level. End your journey for today upon reaching Lares. You have the option of taking ia dip in the hot springs of Lares if you want to .

The final stop of the day is Huacawasi (3,600m). This small village has houses made of adobe and stones.

day 2 - Huacahuasi - Arurayoq - Mantanay

Start trekking to Aruraycocha after breakfast. The view is just amazing. You can see the beautiful Aruraycocha Lake as well as qeunas, trees endemic to this region. Enjoy your lunch and head for Mantanay, where our campsite is located.

day 3 - Mantanay - Yanahuara - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

Head for Yanahuara, located at 2,950m above sea level, after breakfast. Reach Ollantaytambo, an archaeological site that was once the royal seat of of emperor Pachacuti, next. Take the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, where you will spend the night. Breakfast and lunch are included today.

day 4 - Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu & departure

Have breakfast in your hotel early in the morning . Your guide will come to pick you up at 5:40 am. Take the bus to the majestic Machu Picchu. In case you are lucky you will get the chance to see sunrise from this Inca citadel.

You can also book the optional climb to the top of Huayna Picchu (USD15). Enjoy a 2-hour walking tour of Machu Picchu with your tour guide. After this, you can explore the mysterious city by yourself. Leave the famous Inca citadel in the afternoon (at around 1:00 pm) and travel back to Aguas Calientes (you can choose to carry out this journey on foot or by bus). Take the train back to Cusco in the evening.
