Don’t miss out on one of the most popular itineraries in Morocco for travelers wishing to go to the Morocco Sahara desert! This 3-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour offers full insight into the lives of nomads and Berbers, breathtaking scenery across the Atlas Mountains and a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou.
In the Dades Valley, spend a night in a traditional guest house among the Berber villages. What could be more stunning than memories of your group with Berber villages perched on the mountains in the background? And in the narrow, high Toudgha Gorges, you will be able to stretch your legs or hike with a local guide.
There is also a very different and smaller Kasbah in the Skoura oasis, Kasbah Amredhil, to experience. These Kasbahs are some of the main features of a desert trip from Marrakech, unlike anywhere else in the country.
After a welcoming glass of mint tea at the luxury desert camp, you will set out on that long anticipated, sunset camel ride. You can add photos of your group wearing blue turbans with the sunset in the background! Then enjoy an evening of Berber music with the nomads around a campfire. Try your hand at the drum beat, before falling asleep in a comfortable luxury tent near the big dunes.

This travel company simply made it all work with the best 3-day desert adventure from Marrakech via Merzouga. Beautifully scheduled, from the drive across the Atlas Mountains to the enchanting Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou—no stop was boring. The highlight of this trip was a sunset camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes combined with an unforgettable night under the stars at a luxury desert camp while listening to traditional Berber music. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who would like an authentic Moroccan desert experience!
This tour from Marrakech to Merzouga was an unforgettable experience. The journey started with a scenic drive over the Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, where the views were simply spectacular. Visiting the ancient Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou and spending the night in a cozy riad in the Dades Valley were highlights of the first day. Day two was even more exciting, with stops at the impressive Todra Gorge and the bustling market in Rissani before we reached the Erg Chebbi dunes. Riding camels at sunset felt surreal, and the luxury camp in the desert was beautifully set up. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and were treated to traditional Berber music around the campfire—a magical night under the stars. The final morning, we woke up early to witness a breathtaking desert sunrise, followed by a hearty breakfast before heading back to Marrakech. The return trip was comfortable, and the entire tour was well-paced, allowing us to fully appreciate each location without feeling rushed.
The tour was well-organized from the start to the end. Had good guides, delicious meals and smooth transport service.
Great adventure from Marrakech to Merzouga. Exceeded every expectation. From the first day, crossing the scenic Atlas Mountains with their sweeping vistas, to the charming stops along the way, each moment was captivating. Arriving in the desert felt like stepping into another world—the camel trek through the dunes at sunset and the peaceful night in a desert camp beneath a sky full of stars were simply magical. The camp itself was comfortable and well-equipped, providing the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. If you're looking to experience the beauty and spirit of Morocco in a short time, this tour is ideal.
This three-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga was simply outstanding. We began by crossing the Atlas Mountains, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, and each stop was more beautiful than the last. Reaching the desert was pure magic. Riding camels into the sunset and spending the night in the desert camp under a starry sky was unforgettable. The camp accommodations were comfortable and well-organized, perfect for enjoying the desert’s peaceful atmosphere. It’s an ideal way to experience Morocco’s essence in just a few days.
In this desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga was undeniably a memorable experience showcasing fantastic Morocco in all its beauty. The crossing of the Atlas Mountains, including the famous Tizi-n-Tichka pass, was breathtaking; the visit to Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou-an exceptional incursion into Morocco's cultural and cinematographic heritage. Also, a night spent in the Dades Valley offered a restful stay in a pretty guesthouse, while the sunset camel ride in the dunes of Erg Chebbi was the peak of the tour. The tour wasn't perfect, though: scheduling was late at times, and the hotels were cozy but, for the price paid, expected to be a bit better in terms of comfort. However, the experience in the desert was outstanding and one that will always be remembered.
My experience on the 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga with this travel operator was nothing short of extraordinary. The trip was well-organized, and the itinerary was packed with stunning landscapes and cultural insights. From driving over the breathtaking Atlas Mountains to visiting iconic landmarks like Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou and riding camels into the Sahara at sunset, every moment felt special.
I’m excited to share my amazing experience in Morocco, a destination that should be on everyone's bucket list. My 3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga with El Khalil and his team was flawless from beginning to end. Ali welcomed us at the airport, and his hospitality set the tone for the entire trip. His genuine warmth and attentiveness reflected the kindness of the Moroccan people, making us feel incredibly well cared for. This tour was the perfect mix of adventure and cultural discovery. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Morocco!

I recently embarked on an incredible journey, and let me tell you, it was absolutely amazing! Our driver, Abdul, was the backbone of this adventure. His driving skills were impeccable, navigating the roads flawlessly. What truly stood out was Abdul's extensive knowledge about the area and his fantastic sense of humor. He not only made the journey enjoyable but also educational. Abdul was also exceptional in keeping us on schedule, ensuring that our itinerary flowed smoothly and that we reached our destinations promptly. The trip itself was meticulously organized, with local guides adding a deeper cultural dimension to our experience. We made numerous stops along the way, each one unveiling a new facet of the journey and allowing us to immerse ourselves more fully in the surroundings. Overall, it was a well-rounded and unforgettable expedition, thanks to Abdul's expertise, the well-thought-out itinerary, and the enriching local interactions. It's safe to say this trip exceeded all expectations!
Our 3-day desert odyssey from Merzouga to Erg Chigaga was one for the books. From the golden sands of Merzouga to the rugged terrain en route, every moment was an adventure. The sunset camel trek and the stargazing were highlights. The desert camp offered a blend of comfort and authenticity. A trip to remember!
