A wonderful little try through the foothills of the Himalayas. Not particularly difficult, one just needs a little determination after a few days of walking downhill in snow. BEAUTIFUL views from Poonhill and throughout the entire trek. The hot springs are a great touch at the end as well. Beware of donkeys!
We embarked on a remarkable two-week journey to Nepal, expertly organized by Mr. Gokul of this tour company. Despite some last-minute changes on our part, he remained incredibly accommodating and patient throughout. Exploring Kathmandu with our knowledgeable tour guide, Siri, was an enriching experience. His insights into the city's vibrant history added depth to our exploration.
Our short but amazing flight to Pokhara was nothing short of unforgettable, thanks to the breathtaking views of mountains and valleys along the way. Mr. Kumar & Botie ( not sure the spelling) were exceptional skills ensured our safety, and the delicious food we enjoyed during the journey, especially the Dal Bhat, left a lasting impression.
Our stay in Pokhara was equally pleasant, with a well-located hotel providing easy access to shops, the lakeside, and various dining options. Exploring temples and cruising on Fewa Lake added to the charm of our visit.
However, the pinnacle of our trip was undoubtedly the journey to Annapurna Base Camp. The awe-inspiring landscapes and towering mountains along the route left us spellbound. Mr. Kumar, our experienced trekking guide, played a crucial role in making this leg of our journey truly unforgettable, sharing his expertise on the mountains, trekking routes, and religious sites.

The Khopra Trek or Khopra Ridge Trek, is located away from the busier trails of Annapurna range but provides equally remarkable views of the Himalayas including Mount Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fang, and Nilgiri. Another attraction of our trek is the holy Kaire Lake, which requires a little wandering away from the Khopra Ridge.
We leave the main trail after Tadapani and for the next few days, walk along a remote trail while staying in community tea-houses. This trip is suitable for those who wish to enjoy the grandeur of Mt. Annapurna while also taking pleasure in the solace of a more remote trail. The Mardi Himal Trek in the Annapurna region is a perfect option for travelers looking for a new trekking adventure! This trek route has it all: diversity in the atmosphere, cultural highlights and great views of Annapurna Himalayas. Although the route officially opened only less than five years ago, it has received very positive reviews from trekkers. Comparatively short to other Himalayan treks, on this route, we will visit forests, base camps, and local tea houses where we will find overnight accommodation.
The trek begins from scenic Pokhara lake city, where we will drive to Kande, the starting point of our hike. From there onwards immerse into beautiful walks along the culturally rich Gurung villages. During the spring season, enjoy beautiful views of rhododendrons that bloom perfectly which can be just another reason to embark on this adventure.
Stay at forest camp, low camp and high camp, where you can capture the best of sunrise and sunset views of Mardi Himal, Fishtail, and other surrounding peaks. We’ll arrive at the western side of Mardi Himal base camp, which is located at an elevation of 4500m, after which we hike back to Pokhara and finally to Kathmandu, concluding our Mardi Himal Trek.
