The Mardi Himal trek is a short but attractive hiking destination that starts from Kande, a short drive from Pokhara, and ends in Lwang eco-village near Pokhara. See excellent views of the Himalayans from a high viewpoint, trek through iconic rhododendron forest and get up close to the mighty Himalayan giants, including Mount Annapurna, Annapurna South, and Mount Fishtail. The trek route goes through Australian camp (a famous mountain viewpoint in the lower valley) to Deurali hill, then up to Forest camp with a moderate ascend. Continue trekking through the rhododendron forest ridge up to 4400 meters to Mardi Himal Base Camp. Mardi peak is 5800 meters and very rocky, and just next to Mardi is Mount Fishtail (Machhapuchchhre), with its iconic striking peak. Admire the view looking down to Annapurna Valley. After descending down to Seding and reaching Lawang village, experience the rural area, organic mountain coffee and tea and exceptional hospitality from the local village people. Due to its short length and moderate difficulty level, Mardi trek is an excellent choice for beginner trekkers. It is also the only trek in the Annapurna region to take trekkers so close to the mountains on foot.

Great Trekking/Tour Company

I had a fantastic trek with the help of local tour specialists. I did the Annapurna Trek. My guide and porter were so cool, patient, and helpful from the start to the end of the trek. The guide and porter were fun to hike with and they made sure all my needs were taken care of along the way. The places they took me were beautiful and the trek was challenging but not at a pace to be uncomfortable. I think Annapurna Trek is a good trek for someone who has some experience trekking or has none and wants to try it out.

First time trekking in Nepal with equally inexperienced friends and we did the ABC trek with the help of local tour operator. The whole experience was great - Gokul was very responsive from the beginning and accommodative to our changes and requests. Special shout out to our guide Chhabi who was extremely patient and resourceful which made the trek so much more manageable.
