This has been the most amazing experience anyone could ever think of doing. I have come so far, over 1700kms across this beautiful country, and over 29 high passes and been above 6000m. And not to mention the kind hearted people of Nepal, always full of joy and rich in culture, that we have met along this journey. For me this has been a very personal adventure and the sense of achievement I cant tell you how proud I am of myself. Ill take from this experience to propel me forward in life. The staff have done a phenomenal job on this journey, so tirelessly hard working. Its not quite over yet, still 2 days to go before we get back to Simikot, it makes me happy that its not over! Were now retracing steps back to Simikot and our flight out, its a strange feeling after traversing the country completely in the opposite direction, however this short return section offers a different perspective of the stunning views and I feel its fitting to be facing the mountains we have travelled over.I have been extremely happy with my gear that has served me well along this 152 day journey, its kept me comfortable and given me confidence in all the extreme conditions we have encountered. Although this journey is about to end I cant help thinking of the next thing, future goals, perhaps a trip to New Zealand and a mountaineering course to learn the skills to climb the mountains we have passed beneath over the last 5 months! When I return home I hope to inspire others to get out there, especially the youth, to get out there and get amongst it, there is so much out there.Personally, I would like to thank the tour company for making it possible, its a huge undertaking to organize and execute such a logistically complicated journey. Its really opened my eyes a lot, and its changed my life, when I return home the plan is to live more simply, at home we take so much for granted, here, there is so little, people have so little, and they are happy, and they have touched my heart.

Dil Man thank you for bestest hiking! It was very interesting and very adventurous! Delicious breakfast with fruits in the mountains. Coffee at any height and beautiful nature!
I am glad to say that I did the Dolpo after a few friends recommended me. Booking with the operator was an easy process and they replied to all my queries on email instantly. I didn't know what to do and when they suggested that I do this trek based on my interest, I blindly trusted them on this tour. And I should say, I made no mistake with that. My guide was informative and responsive to all my needs and wellness. Everything went beyond my expectation right from the moment I was given a warm welcome in the airport until the time I got back home. Words fall short when I have to thank them for all the hospitality I was provided. Thank you team out there. I'll be back soon for a similar trek in future.

The flight attendants and staff we very kind and approachable. We went up in the plane and they let us in the cockpit and the views were very good. I would recommend this to anyone visiting as it is a very good way of seeing the Himalayas close up.
Often regarded as one of the best off-the-beaten-path treks in Nepal, Makalu Base Camp is where you are looking for a fairly challenging trekking experience on a less crowded route. Makalu Is the fifth-highest peak in the world, and on this trek you will be reaching its foothill.
The Makalu Base Camp is part of the Makalu-Barun Valley in Sankhuwasabha district of Nepal. It is a glacier valley in the Himalayas, offering stunning views of several mountain peaks such as Everest, Lhotse, Baruntse, Chamlang and, of course, Makalu.
Since not many foreign travelers visit Makalu Base Camp, you can expect to see and experience authentic mountain culture and traditions. But Makalu does test the trekkers to their absolute limit before offering itself. Along the way you will journey through the lush forests, tiny mountain hamlets, meadows and waterfalls. And if you are lucky, you might even chance upon the local wildlife including the elusive red panda and even leopards.
This 14-day Makalu Base Camp itinerary is therefore a unique blend of breathtaking nature, culture and adventure.
