This was an amazing trip. I can't believe how many animals we saw. I honestly did not expect to see every animal that I had on my list and we also saw so many of them and multiple times. I'm still in awe of how much wildlife we saw. It was surreal being there and on an actual safari. We also had a great guide in Arusha who took us on a tour of a village, a coffee plantation, and to the Maasai market, which was quite an experience. I also really enjoyed the spice planation tour on Zanzibar and of course, the beach!

We spent 2 weeks (April 2023) of dreams with the route offered by this travel specialist in southern Ethiopia.
Accompanied by an excellent driver with a very comfortable 4x4 car and a guide fluent in English and French and rich in very broad knowledge of his country, its history, the many different tribes, the fauna, religions, different climates, climate, a real walking bible! We shared 10 days with these two very nice people and the many exchanges were friendly. A delight.
We particularly liked the visits to the different tribes (Dorze, Mursi, Karo, Arbore, Hamer, Sidama and others) where we could share the preparation and their meal, the coffee ceremonies and even their dances.
The different lodges for the night were all of very good quality and we really regret that actually only few tourists choose to travel through this beautiful country and its many ethnic groups so different and happy to share their daily life.
Betty and Yaye prepared our journeys over 10 days and we had only very good surprises, everything far exceeded our initial expectations.
Thanks again to Hailu and Fisch for allowing us to find ourselves in a different world, poor but very humble and welcoming.

I thought it might be useful to give a little more info about the walking on this trip as I was very concerned I had bitten off more than I could chew.
I am nearly 73, fit , for my age, woman. Used to walking but I live in Essex so am not used to hills!
I have walked in Vietnam and Georgia in the past 18 months however this trip was much more of a challenge because of altitude and heat. I was the oldest in the group of 11 with the youngest at 22(!)
Whilst three of the group reached the peak a good hour ahead and two turned back the rest of us all succeeded. It was challenging however if I can do it others can!! Very tough on knees and my advice is to get your cardio up to scratch and go for it!
Overall a fantastic trip with excellent walking, very basic camping, great food and Hery a wonderful, caring guide.

This trip was both adventurous and relaxing. The amazing game drives were capped off by returning to very comfortable, mostly luxurious, accommodations with delicious food and pools set amongst wildlife and nature. Trip overall was terrific. Changes that could be made to future safaris. Game drives should only go out early morning, return to camp by 11am. 2nd game drive should start about 3pm until sunset. Rest at camp from 11am to 3pm. Boxed lunches should be deleted as they were well below standard & not terrible. Rift Valley Photographic Lodge was below standard & one night is plenty. The road in & out of the Lodge was absolutely terrible. My room had a terrible smell from shower drain & I was moved. The next room had no hot water until I chased it up. Swimming pools were all empty. Cut out long village walk as too hot & drive onto next lodge. You need at least 2 full days in the fantastic Ambroseli park. Masai Mara should be 2 full days experience & 2 full days in Ngorongoro Crater. Completely drop day 8 cultural experience etc from itinerary. We were all charged USD20 to visit Masia village but found out later Masai visit was free in initerary. The jeep in Kenya was old & very uncomfortable. The jeep in Tanzania was modern, a good ride & very uncomfortable. That part of the tour needs to be looked due to jeep travelling time.

This was a full on tour including camping, a houseboat as well as hotels. But the highlight was the wildlife. On day one you were amazed at the wildlife you saw and how close you could get. Just when you think it couldn’t get any better the following brought even more spectacular wildlife sightings. It was like watching a wildlife TV programme but you were actually there in it. There is a lot of travel involved but worth it to explore the region, mostly in Botswana which is a wonderful country. The camping was an experience I will not forget - it was hot in the tents at night and you need to come prepared but the “en-suite” bucket shower open to the sky above and having elephant and giraffe pass by and the excellent camp food made many a memory. The hotel at Thamo Telele afterwards felt like pure luxury as we all needed a much welcome bath. If you want to experience African wildlife close up but safely and have many different experiences as you go this is the adventure for you.
