Itinerary
Looking for a half-day escape to paradise? The Prison Island Boat Trip transports you to a serene haven just off Zanzibar’s coast, where giant tortoises roam and coral reefs beckon snorkelers. Originally a former slave holding and quarantine center, the island now invites visitors to explore its historic buildings and interact with its remarkable wildlife.
Wander the quarantine center, stroll sun-drenched beaches, or dive into crystal-clear waters to discover vibrant marine life. With refreshments on hand and a small island restaurant for simple meals, you’re free to relax as long as you wish. This tour package’s unique selling point is its blend of history, wildlife, and beach leisure—making it a must for photographers, snorkelers, and anyone seeking a peaceful Zanzibar getaway.

Prison Island
It was an amazing trip with Abdul to Prison Island. The tortoise was a very big experience.
Rough Boat Ride
Overall, the trip was just fine. If you are not a fan of those small boats that sway from side to side, do not take this tour. The tour guide was fantastic. The tortoises were amazing (worth a little discomfort on the boat), and the boat driver was great. I've done it and would not do it agin if in Zanzibar.
