We recently returned from an upgraded National Geographic tour in Kenya with G Adventures, and it exceeded all our expectations. Although the tour was originally designed for 5–6 people, two no-shows meant my wife and I ended up with an almost completely private experience—a true luxury that greatly enhanced our journey. One of the most memorable parts of our trip was learning to identify and name the various species we encountered. With John’s guidance, we identified everything from the elusive cheetah to the majestic elephant, and even learned the subtle differences between various antelope species. This hands-on experience deepened our understanding of the local fauna in a way that was both fun and educational. The tour itself was truly community-focused, providing an intimate travel experience. Each itinerary featured meaningful encounters with the people and culture of the regions we visited. We connected with local communities, learning about their traditions and the ways in which they live in harmony with the environment. This blend of wildlife adventure and cultural immersion created a rich and balanced experience. Throughout our journey in Nakuru, Naivasha, and Maasai Mara, John and our driver Joseph proved to be an outstanding team.
