Excellent

Safe, professional, nice team, good food (felt like five stars on the mountain. I still don't know how they brough the eggs up to the camps), nice atmosphere and on the mountain: one team! It would be helpfull to know the questions of this survey beforehand so I would have known where to put additonal information on the guide how was singing while we were going up to the summit. His good mood helped a lot. I'm very glade that Robin brought Graham safely back to Stella Maris. Thank you for that. Each and everyone from the team was doing an incredible job!

My husband and I have just completed the Kilimanjaro - Lemosho Trek and don't believe our experience could have been bettered. We were initially concerned that we were the only two people booked for this week with Explore and would miss out on the group experience. We really didn't feel this way. We were supported on the climb by our wonderful guides Julius and Eli and also by the fabulous team of Porters. So humbling to recognise their efforts and strength in managing all of the equipment and logistics. They also cooked us incredible meals with humour, smiles and even songs. The trek, terrain and altitude were a challenge for us and we could probably have benefitted from being some years younger! But we always knew we were completely safe and cared for with incredible attention. Great trip, many memories, thank you.

Wow, well what can I say, this was such an adventure! I will absolutely be recommending G Adventures to all my friends and family for theot future adventures. Accomodation- The Bristol cottages for the night before and after was basic but had everything you needed, including a nice hot shower. The staff were lovely and there was even a safe place to store items so yiu didn't have to take everything up the mountain. During the trek, the tent crew were meticulous! The tents were always ready for when we reached camp, werr warm and had great mattresses. Really cannot fault! (side note - the sleeping bags you can rent via G Adventures were also amazing) Catering- On the trek the food was mind blowing! Our Chef Chewa was so skilled and created a multi course tasty fresh meal no matter what the weather. When we were seeing our trekking groups eating remade lunch boxes and we were served a hot fresh lunch, you know you picked the right company. Staff - The CEO and coCEOs were all amazing. James, innocent and Gade all made us feel safe, joined in with our group jokes and conversation and were always thinking ahead. Elisha was our faithful waiter who always encouraged us to eat to refuel, brought us our morning coffees/tea and ended up being so much more than a waiter. The porters, were efficient, polite and seemed to effortlessly make it up the mountain. Very strong people indeed. Safety- The team worked so well together to ensure we were kept safe both during the trek and when in camp. Regular O2 check completed to check for altitude sickness, and also staff on patrol during dinner times to ensure no one entered our tents at the camps. The summit crew were very attentive, helped carry backpacks when the going got tough and ensured we continued to drink water at all times. I particularly want to highly commend Elisha. He was our waiter but also joined us for the summit. He carried my bag and also helped me scree ski down from guilmans point when I was too scared to make it down by myself. He got me down safly and went way above and beyond his humble title of 'waiter'.

Excellent

It was an amazing experience, the route was the right amount of time to help us acclimatise ahead of summit night and see all the stunning sites around the Kilimanjaro National Park. Our guides and G Fighters were brilliant - a big shout out to our guides James, Innocent, and Gade, along with our (more than a waiter) Elisha who?s humour was wonderful, and Chef Chewa who?s food was spectacular!

Friendly and experienced service, with local base and employees

This trip was a long time in the making and this company helped us to achieve this every step of the way. They seem to offer the most reasonably priced package when we searched around but when we finally got onto the trek, we realised just how good the value was for our money. We had a team of 15 locals from the Kilimanjaro Region with us, including two experienced guides, Nickson and Livingstone. With their help we, as inexperienced but reasonably fit hikers, were able to reach the summit. The team could not have been more supportive. In the long buildup, Naick was very patient and helpful in emails and whatsapp messaging, allowing us the time and knowledge that we needed to organise our trip. We got a thorough briefing and help preparing our trekking gear/clothes, at the hotel, on the night before the trek. Each evening we had a briefing about the following day, before getting a wake up call in the morning from our attentive host, Zakayo - who accompanied us to the summit on the final day and will make for a great future guide. We were treated to fresh ginger tea daily, as well as other hot drinks and soup to keep warm and big portioned meals/snacks for energy. The porters in the team have great strength and heart. After we had stocked our smaller bags with the day's essentials, they would pack up the camp, including our remaining larger bags and move the whole camp to our next location - overtaking us on the way! At this point, as others have mentioned, paying for a private toilet for your group/self, to have as part of your camps, is well worth the money from the start. Our guides were more than mere pace setters, pointing the way forward, they were knowledgeable about the local region, flora and fauna. They have vast experience of climbing Kilimanjaro from all the various routes. Also, importantly, they were very humble, friendly, supportive, just generally good humoured company, as well as making for decent photographers for our small group! The trek itself is manageable, as the guides will tell you, it is more of a mental test and taking things "pole pole" - slow and steady will get you to the top, while allowing you to enjoy the journey and some breathtaking views along the way! Finally to emphasise again, this is a locally based company with local employees. They provided our small group of three with a thoroughly enjoyable and unforgettable experience. I hope that spreading the word with this review, will go some way to repaying them for their hospitality and the fantastic memories which they have given to us.

I would like the chance to mention all the 6 CEOs on the Kilimanjaro hike: Iddy, Freddy, Clement, Paulo, Walter, Raphael, additionally the chefs, and the 30 others (Ismail, Ali, and the "toilet engineer" team they called themselves etc). The entire team went over and beyond for us, they got us singing when we needed, they had everything ready for us when we got to our locations, they kept us healthy and safe, they really made us feel, comfortable, happy, and extremely safe and all with a smile on their face even though their tasks were much harder than ours. They made our entire trip so unforgettable and I will forever be grateful to them and will miss their presence keeping all the vibes alive all day everyday for us. It was because of them that the trip and the hike was that much more amazing!! They were the most incredible group of people and no words would be able to properly express the joy and easethey added to the trip! Amazing team! Amazing people!!!
