Cape Town Adventure Trips

I couldn’t recommend this trip more, it exceeded all of my expectations! It was genuinely the most present, joyful and fun two weeks I have had in the longest time. Our TM was so so fantastic and exceptional at his job - he made us feel so safe, relaxed and supported. This trip was such an adventure and I’d jump at the chance to visit all these places again! The itinerary was phenomenal - it is jam packed but you get to see so so much! Depending on the time of year you go, make sure to bring your electrolytes and a fan (we went in September and it gets HOT!). Also don’t expect a super clubbing/going out drinking itinerary, there is opportunity to do that occasionally but it is not the focus of this trip at all- this was actually a big draw for me and it was the perfect - think chilled evening/sunset beers. The accomodation was really lovely and way nicer than we expected. The camping special stays were also very comfortable and amazing experiences. You are in the bush so be prepared, there are insects, spiders etc. It can also get dusty on some of the game drives so bring a neck buff or silk scarf too. The water rafting is intense so only do it if you are into extreme activities. All the food was great and so cheap when comparing to what the AUD gets you at home. We didn’t have to worry about food safety once, everything was fresh and delicious. Also, Africa gets a bad wrap safety wise and as a young woman I had some pre-trip anxiety, but I felt really safe the entire time so please don’t let that stop you from booking a trip to Southern Africa.

The perfect blend of city life, adventure, and unforgettable safari experiences. Our Trip Manager, Sim, was outstanding—highly professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and an absolute blast to travel with. His expertise on each country we visited was unmatched, and no matter the question, he always had the answer. His ability to speak multiple languages made communication seamless with both locals and guides, adding so much depth to the experience. The safari guides were truly remarkable. Their talent for spotting wildlife—camouflaged in dense trees or hidden in the distance—was nothing short of impressive. Even with their help, I often needed extra direction just to see what they had already noticed! I would do this trip again in a heartbeat—ten times over.

Would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see Africa. It was absolutely amazing! Our Trip Manager is the most special thing to ever happen to Contiki, he cared about everyone in our group and we all loved him right back. TM was professional, approachable and inclusive also his knowledge of the local languages and history was fantastic. The accommodation is really good especially in Victoria Falls the resort is gorgeous. Activities like the game drives, village homestead tour and camping in Chobe National Park are spectacular once in a lifetime experience. In short, book the the trip because you won’t regret anything except when it’s time to come home!

This was an action-packed intro to Africa, it had it all!! Beaches, safaris, cities, adrenaline-sports and amazing people!! Our trip manager was awesome and had heaps of local knowledge and passion for wildlife. I wish I’d had time to extend and see more but the 11days had so much that it still felt like 7 holidays in one trip :)

This was the best trip we’ve taken! Our trip manager, was organized, friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Can’t say enough good things about him! All the activities offered were above our expectations and the trip as a whole went very smooth.

Cannot say enough good things about this trip. Excellently scheduled, meticulously coordinated, everything went seamlessly. I had never heard of Contiki before or done group travel and I was blown away. All the destinations are well done with excellent activities and incredible excursions. When family and friends ask me to pick a highlight, I honestly have to just say the whole trip. Trip manager was incredible. My only wish is that I could do this trip for the first time all over again!!
