Bolivia Trekking and Hiking Trips

5 reviews on bookmundi

Bolivia’s rugged, isolated terrain will challenge you physically and mentally. But you will also encounter the country’s famed beauty in the form of snow-capped mountains, well-preserved Inca trails and sacred sites. Linking the high Andean plateau with the subtropical lowlands, the popular three-day Choro Trek will take you past glaciers, suspended bridges, hot springs, untouched waterfalls, and ancient stone trails of the pre-Inca Tiwanaku people. On the way, look out for orchids, wildflowers and colorful birds as you cross cloud forests and coffee plantations. Among the more challenging Bolivia hiking tours is the seven-day Illampu circuit. The night temperatures drop well below freezing point here and you have to cross several high passes. Get introduced to the ancient Aymara culture in remote villages and see lagoons, condors and llamas. Many delightful Bolivia trekking tours can be completed within a day. Top-rated day-long hikes include the trails in Valle de las Ánimas (Valley of the Souls), which is known for its striking rocky terrain and beautiful views of the cloud-covered Illimani mountain and Mount Mururata from the valley ridge. I had the most fun and would recommend it others I learnt a lot made amazing friends. I will not forget this summer I had the best time. The transport could be private with such large groups and late checkouts should be included.

The Inca Trail was amazing! There were definitely hard parts but the guides do an amazing job at supporting everyone to get to the end, and you feel so proud of yourself at the end of each day. The rest of the tour was a great balance of activities and free time to explore each place.

This tour to Peru exceeded my expectations in every way. Josep our CEO enhanced the tour with his knowledge, expertise and passion. The itinerary was well thought out, expertly planned to great detail and executed professionally. I enjoyed myself and even pushed myself out of my comfort zone at times with the activities and excursions. I learnt so much about Peruvian culture (both past and present) and am so grateful for the time and support of Josep our CEO.

It was an amazing experience, everything (and more!), I hoped it would be! In 15 days we saw so much and had the opportunity to understand what life is like for the locals in Bolivia and Peru. Would strongly recommend! I would also like to call out Nelson from the administration team: he was always very responsive and helpful with any questions that we had and brilliant in organising all the extras I requested. I would also like to make a big thank you to Lizbet, who was the assistant on the Inca Trail. She was so supportive to the whole group, she was very aware of those who needed help and went out of her way to give it. She helped me as an individual, for which I am incredibly grateful. She is a strong asset to have within the team.

Amazing experience. Inca trail and homestay were standout highlights. Trip could have been better organised to minimise unnecessary travel. Rainbow mountain was too busy and felt unsustainable (something at odds with the g culture we love).
