We enjoyed visiting the sites, we enjoyed meeting the people of Egypt, and we enjoyed the food. Our guide was extremely well versed on Egypt’s history, always pleasant, and he made an extra effort to engage with us during our downtime and at the sites.
It was very interesting and enjoyed visiting the ancient sites. River cruise was very relaxing. Could have included more souks.
the 7 day river cruise on the Nile was a bit long - could have been done in 3 or 4 days. got tired of buffet meals 3 times a day
The tour was very informative, but be prepared for much walking and on uneven paths. The sights are awesome but be prepared for some similar repetitions. The tour was very well organized and comprehensive. The tour felt safe with no apprehensions.
It was exactly true to itinerary always on time. Sherif answered questions with a great attitude. He was helpful with things people would request, and provided individual support when needed. This is one of the most amazing trip anyone can experience in their lifetime!!
Great experience to actually see these fantastic structures that are still standing after so many years. Pictures and TV documentaries do not even come close to how gigantic these places are, and the artistry that has been carved into the walls and columns. Incredible adventure!
This itinerary had a great selection of sites that were coordinated well throughout the tour along with Great facilities and service along the way.
The itinerary was filled with many different activities and visits to the main ancient sites of Egypt. Our extra excursion to Abu Simbel was worth the extra cost - to see such magnificent works of stone, art, and carvings was amazing.
Great tours with very knowledgeable tour guides. Unfortunately, one of the restaurants we visited made about 25 out of 28 on our tour sick with very bad stomach issues. Figured out through luck at the pharmacy it was Giardia. Not a nice experience when it last 8 days of a 12 day tour. The food and staff on our Nile cruise were all excellent.
Well itinerary was good. It was the diarrhea everyone seemed to catch. Started with. This poor lady at the valley if the kings Diarrhea running down her leg Then couple days later I caught it. Everyone at my table where we ate had it People next to us had it. Then I got UTI infection. I am on antibiotics as I write this The itinerary was good. We saw a lot of temples and two mosques etc. unfortunately we are not Egyptologists. It was hard to remember everything told to us. Perhaps a brief summary (a paragraph) of the temple and a scene of what he will discuss might pull it together the names of Gods and their significance Now at home I am finding programs to watch to help me reconfirm and better understand what I was told. I watched Wonders of ancient Egypt etc. it is an amazing time and so much to glean from this unimaginable time of the Pharoahs. I learned about the Nubia people. The felucca ride was sooooo much fun!!!! Very entertaining. We all loved it. I got a camel bone bracelet. . Got to put my feet in the Nile. Ride a camel. Everyone at home loved my photos. What a trip!!!! They exclaimed
Like many people I have a bucket list and Egypt was up there at the top of it and did not disappoint. The included 7 day cruise was amazing. The staff so friendly and helpful. After all warnings about the food prior to the tour, I was pleasantly surprised with the huge variety of food available and suitable to all tastes. Once you get used to all the security checks and the fact we had a body guard with us on the tour, you can relax and enjoy each and every treasure Egypt has to offer. Keep in mind that this is an ancient country and while they do their best to accommodate tourists, there is still a lot of walking on uneven ground, with many steps and long distances to get to some sites Unfortunately many of our travellers were unable to go to several of the historic sites due to problems with their mobility. Something else to factor in is the heat. Wear a hat, sun screen and repellent and along with plenty of bottled water (you cannot drink the water) Due to this our fantastic Tour Director scheduled our visits to most of the historic sites early in the morning to avoid the heat which was much appreciated I met the most amazing and friendly people on the tour from all around the world. This was my 6th tour and I have two more after this one. I would recommend it ! Sit back relax and enjoy your journey
The itinerary was comprehensive and covered all of the sights I wanted to see. The Hilton Ramses was a beautiful hotel with excellent amenities. The location however was not conducive to leaving the hotel. Amir was absolutely fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and very concerned for about our safety. The Nile cruise was spectacular. The cruise line was top notch. The itinerary while on the cruise was amazing. The option to fly to abul Simbel was perfect.
A dream come come true for me. Ive always wanted to see Ancient Egyptian temples and pyramids since I was a child. The Tour Director was exceptional and the accommodation was first class.
A fabulous mix of coach and cruise transport. A fantastic range of beautiful ancient sites along with experiences of modern everyday life.
Perfect itinerary that packed a lot in and also allowed downtime in afternoons before dinner or other activities. Our guide , was also an Egyptologist and she was a wealth of information. I recommend staying 2 or 3 nights before or after tour for extra activities at Cairo Museums and Alexandria that Trafalgar organise. The tour itself was 2 nights Cairo, 7 on Nile and 2 in Cairo, so no need to continually change hotels etc
The itinerary was inclusive of all the monuments I wanted to see. The Nile River Cruise was fantastic.. the crew was very attentive, the food was delicious Our guide was an extraordinary person and everyone enjoyed her guidance.
Trip was beyond my expectation ! Guide and our group were fabulous. Egypt fabulous amazing memories made !
It was wonderful, awe inspiring. Exploring the history of Egypt, ant the tombs and museums that depicted life back for thousands of years as these countries are the cradle of mankind.
*personal info removed by Feefo* was the best guide ever the itinerary was fabulous lifetime experience. Thank You Trafalgar
Excellent adventure
This was the best Trafalgar trip we have taken and we have taken six trips with Trafalgar! Our tour guide, was amazing beyond expectations. The group we were with was wonderful and the sites we saw were magical! Thank you for this incredible experience!!!
Every thing was well organised, guides were very knowledgeable and understanding. All and all a comfortable and very enjoyable trip.
was very conscious of what should come first to last so not to have us over taxed and allow such a smooth holiday. The people on the boat worked hard to make our cruise on the Nile River very comfortable and enjoyable. Top makes for them.
Itinerary was excellent. Our tour guide was really good. My only disappointment was the need for continued tipping, this was huge money after already paying a lot for our trip. I would have rather paid more for trip and not have the worry of paying large tips to bus drivers daily, boat staff and tour guide. The trip itself and the staff were amazing though…loved it.
this is a very full itinerary, which we knew going in. We got to see nearly everything on our list with this tour - and in some cases extras! The trip on the Nile was very relaxing and a great way to connect with our group and travel place to place. We added Abu Simbel - oh so hot but oh so worth it. Again, however, we did not get to do one of the add-ons on our first day. We came in by 11 am to be able to make the museum tour which we asked about before leaving the US and again before leaving Jordan. Both times we were told to talk to our driver upon arrival. The gentleman who met us told us, no we were too late, we should have signed up earlier. Again we were left with an entire day on our own. In retrospect we should have hired a car and just gone on our own.
Fantastic
An incredible experience filled with awe inspiring sights and history!
The itinerary was great. Would have liked to have a group text or something with the next days itinerary. I understand sometimes things need to change, however, would like to know more than just the night before. Would have also liked a group text so we could connect with each other
This itinerary included all the elements we wanted to experience, including a 7-night Nile Cruise, rather than a shorter one.
The balloon ride at Luxor and especially the Abu Simbel excursion should be incorporated as part of the trip. Every member of my group did both of these, and they really enhance the experience.
Wear comfy shoes as there is a lot of walking when not on the SS Miriam. Forget the diet as the food on the Miriam is first class. Museums and sights all over the place they too are a museum. Their drivers don't use indicators as the should, an eye opener
Tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable about Egyptian history. However his descriptions were too in depth and took way to long so whenever we visited a temple or other location there was hardly any time to explore on our own (eg. a 2 hour visit to a temple composed 1-1/2 hours of what we thought was over-information, slowly moving along, and then we were given 30 minutes on our own to look around and return to the bus - which was a 20 minute walk away!) The whole tour itinerary was too rushed, trying to visit too many places per day. I understand the tour guide was trying to cram thousands of years of history into our tour, but after a while we just tuned him out. Information overflow. The "optional" extras were exceptionally over-priced (e.g. a whole day of travel with a lunch stop where the tour guide "knew a good place to go" - $25 US for lunch which literally consisted of a plate of rice, and a choice of meat, either chicken, lamb or pigeon. Everyone's meat was burned and dry, and the pigeon was literally bone and skin stuffed with more rice!). We had eaten Koshari at Abou Karek in Cairo for under $5 US each prior to the tour starting, which was a much larger and palatable meal! Shameful that the tour guide/restaurant we were taken to ripped everyone off so much. The visit to National Museum of Egyptian Civilization cost $65 US per person, but the fee on the NMEC website works out to be about $10 US each. The bus left just the hotel just after 1:30 in the afternoon, the drive was about 20 minutes and the museum closed at 5 p.m. Cost for UBER or a cab would be minimal, not adding up to the $65 charged per person to us, but it was the first day and we didn't know any better. We listened to the tour guide explanation as he slowly walked from one exhibit to the other, and then told us we would be leaving at 4 p.m., so that gave us about 30 minutes to see the royal mummies and the textile gallery. Again disappointing. The tour to Abu Simbel really should not even be offered in the limited time available. To get to the airport, fly to Abu Simbel, get to the temples and then back to the airport for a flight back to Aswan before lunch was ridiculous. It would have cost over $1000 US for 2 of us to do this, so we didn't go. Those on our tour who did, were extremely disappointed - only had enough time to visit 1 temple instead of 2, and felt unbelievably rushed throughout the whole trip. The vendors were unbelievable relentless. You could hardly take 2 paces and they would be in your face. When 1 vendor actually physically grabbed one of our arms, we had to threaten to call the tourist police to get him to move away and leave us alone - immediately followed by another vendor blocking our way. This was too much. It got to the point where we had to be rude to get away from them. Would I go to Egypt again? No. Would I travel with Trafalgar again? Probably not. If we did, we know that any "optional" tours are unbelievably overpriced.
Plenty to do. Great accommodations. Travel Director was very knowledgeable.
The seven days on the Nile in the boat gives you heaps of downtime for relaxation or additional exploration… take advantage of it. There is loads of walking and it is hot… be prepared. It is the most wonderful, exhilarating, exciting, educational adventure. Worth every penny spent. 🐪❤️🐪
This trip was outstanding. We covered the highlights of Egypt on the Nile- and what made it exceptional what the attention, knowledge and storytelling passion of our Egyptologist . We learned SO much, when we started already knowing quite a bit. His enthusiasm was contagious., and his talent for storytelling is unrivaled. It would not have been the same trip without him. The crew on the Nile portion of the cruise was outstanding as well- so incredibly friendly and there for our every need. Overall was a 5 star trip- comfortable transfers, excellent boat that was just refurbished, great food, and so much history and fun. Was a whirlwind of learning about the pharaohs, queens, ancient daily life, ceremony on our way to the temples, pyramids, tombs, valley of the kings, balloons, walks etc- and also with chats on the boat. Just amazing. This was a once in a lifetime trip we will never forget and hope to return to Egypt! It delivered in every way. Tried to add 54 photos.
The itinerary was perfect. Enjoyed having down time while cruising the Nile. Our tour guide was fabulous. was a wealth of knowledge and his passion for Egypt was contagious! He made our trip so special. Only thing I would love is some shopping time. I wish they weren’t so pushy trying to sell things. It made it very uncomfortable and I really would have bought more things but they wouldn’t leave you alone. Wonderful people but wish they weren’t so pushy selling.
It was an amazing itinerary. So much history and beauty. Our guide was spectacular. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and personable. The cruise ship M/S Medea was absolutely beautiful. The staff catered to our every need. They provided us with a lovely cake on our last night of our cruise to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Each and every meal was beyond delicious. This trip definitely exceeded our every expectation. Don’t wait! Travel now!
