Undiscovered Balkans

I would have like to explore Tirana more , a few extra days and less days in Kosovo

An excellent varied, good value trip. The tour takes in 3 countries with a good mix of culture - capital cities and monasteries with the most amazing frescos as well as nature and some good hikes.

The itinerary was great and our guide, Lyto, went above and beyond by taking us to his village home for home made food and drink

I highly recommend the 'Undiscovered Balkans' tour. We visited a variety of sites in the three countries on the itinerary, both in rural and mountainous areas and in the major cities, including all three capitals. The accommodations were very adequate and the mostly bus-based transportation was excellent. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and very professional.

Stunning scenery, lovely cities, amazing architecture, fascinating history and friendly people all make this trip a really enjoyable holiday. Kosovo was a real revelation. North Macedonia with Lake Ohrid and Albania’s Valbona Valley yet more highlights.

Another spectacular trip with Explore. I highly recommend this company. As a solo female traveller they have never let me down. Explore is 100 % reliable.

Although our leader was very personable and presented the trip as well as could be done, the timing of the series of events was poorly done and we also often arrived at places after they were closed due to end of season timing. This timing neither our guide nor the local guide seemed to be aware of. In addition, our van often had engine trouble and barely got us to the designated places. Thanks to our driver we managed to just get to where we were going after several stops.

We expected the Balkans to be more exotic which was our lack of research.The tour itself was good.The guide was able to explain a lot of interesting history and we saw good sights.
