day 1Tirana – Ohrid via Elbasan, Saint Naum Monastery & Bay of Bones

We will pick you up from the airport in Tirana and drive you to Ohrid today. Your first stop is the city of Elbasan, home to traditional Ottoman old houses as well as Sinan Pasha’s Turkish baths. Next, head for the medieval Monastery of Saint Naum, where you will get the chance to enjoy a traditional Macedonian lunch. See the resident peacocks that roam the grounds and enter the monastery to see its intricate frescoes.
Back on the riad, your final stop before reaching Ohrid city is the Bay of Bones Museum, a prehistoric settlement located on Lake Ohrid. A one-of-a-kind in the region, this museum is an authentic reconstruction of part of an ancient settlement dating back between 1200 BC and 700 BC.
Check into your hotel in Ohrid's old town upon reaching there. You are free in the evening.
