The absolute best experience ever! Everything was so well organised and I met the most beautiful group of girls that I’m now so lucky to call my friends. If you’re thinking about it, just do it! It’s so worth it and so much fun. Special shoutout to Kate and GG for being the best trip leader and driver ever!
I enjoyed my top deck experience of the uk I seen so much more with our guide than I would of seen alone
This trip was excellent. Such a good way to see so much of the UK and Ireland in a short amount of time. Great variety and got to see all the best places. Our trip leader Kate was so knowledgeable and passionate about the area and always provided amazing recommendations for each stop. If you are thinking about booking, take the plunge! You won’t regret it.
Our tip leader was amazing. She was very relaxed which kept everyone else relaxed. We left places later in the morning which meant we had some time to ourselves in the morning to chill out. We did notice that most shops did not open until late in the morning. This meant we missed out on a few things because of the times we left and arrived at places. Our trip leader and bus driver were both very accommodating in this and did their best to ensure we did not miss out on what we were looking forward to. All the hotels were really nice considering the price we paid for our trip. However, they we very costly when it came to laundry services. It would be nice if we had a little bit of notice where the best places are to do laundry, so more money can be spent on important things. The new topdeck app was ok when it worked. I miss being able to reach out to other travellers before the trip starts just to ease that solo traveller anxiety. There were glitches in the app when attempting to purchase optional activities saying they had not been booked when i had booked. It would be good to see all accomodation on the app and have sections for travellers to be able to add notes on where they would like to go. This did not affect our trip. Extra activities that were not mentioned in the itinerary were all absolutely awesome. Our trip leader did a really good job with these and you could tell the suppliers were really happy to have us. We loved the axe throwing activities as well as the canoeing across the aqueduct in Llangollen. Overall, fantastic experience. Will be back again.
The trip itself was amazing! Our trip leader and driver were incredibly friendly and helpful, would go out of their way to help and make you feel welcome! They were both incredibly knowledgeable about where we were going, how to get around and the best spots to see, eat and drink! The locations that we went to were amazing! Truely beautiful countries and locals! I just wish we stayed in a few of them a bit longer.. Our accommodation however was a bit hit and miss, about 90% of the time it was great, but there were a few places that were not very accessible and were hard to navigate. There was a big mix up with the booking we had made, in which I had to share a bed with the person I booked with.. Upon learning this, we notified our trip leader who was determined to get it fixed. But I still had to go a notify Top Deck on my own to get anything fixed properly and to be able to get help for the Trip Leader to get anything done about it. In the end, we managed to get it sorted. The Top Deck app was also very glitchy and almost all of us on the trip could t access our bookings on it to sign up for the extra activities!
This trip was amazing. I saw so much more than I would have if I travelled alone. Plus I didn't have to plan a thing. Topdeck takes care of all the planning. Just sit back and take in the scenery.
Loved this trip!! Our leader Jenna was so knowledgeable and fun (and patient, oh boy). We couldn’t have made it through without her. I also think having a smaller group made this trip all the better - if we had many more it might’ve been a nightmare. I wish we had more time in the Highlands or adding a stay in Derry, or an extra day in Galway or Dublin - those were our collective favourites. So glad I did this!
Trip leader was amazing
Our tour guide Jake was fantastic and very knowledgeable. He was always happy to help and we had a great time exploring each city and meeting new friends.
We went on this trip in May. I think it unnecessary spending the first night of the trip in London. Most people are already then and have been sight seeing already. Oxford and York were great. I think leaving York a bit earlier in the day would of been better so we got to Alnwick Castle so we could do more of the tours. we could only do one by the time we got there. I think the Newcastle stop in unnecessary unless the day you are there is a weekend. I would of preferred to go to Liverpool or Manchester. I didn't like the Scottish highlands 2 night stop. It would of been better as one night as we didnt stay in Inverness and then our day trip to Lochness and Glenfinnan has us finishing closer to Glasgow then the Scottish highlands so lots of unnecessary time on the bus. Belfast would benefit from having the optional extra of a Black cabs tour. The included breakfasts were great. Australians be aware that hashbrowns over there have onion in them. Included dinners were very hit and miss all editable but i think choice of menu was controversial. Eg having haggis ontray followed by and Salmon as the main dish. Please be aware that some of the accommodation is out of town which is frustrating as you aren't told of that in advance. There is also like no where to do washing. None of our hotels had washing facilities which was very frustrating. Our Trip Leader Jimmy was lovely and always up for a chat and a beer. However most places we went he would start with there is not much to do here which was annoying to me. We didn't get recommendations of places to go and eat unless it was a pub. Even if it was some nice to eat or feedback from previous trips. We made sure to give Jimmy feedback on places we went to eat and what was good and what wasn't. Our coach drivers change a bit due to the driving laws over there. I did feel unsafe a few times while he was driving however he was fantastic in the tricky spots.
